The end of an era. Thank you Mr. Doyle for all of the great songs and memories. I fortunate to see you live several years ago now. When I met you it was like meeting a old friend
My heart is saddened that Doyle and the guys won’t be performing on the road anymore, but if anyone has earned a gracious retirement; Doyle is that man! Much love & respect to the best of the best. You will live long in the hearts of many.
Doyle I just wanted to tell you that my husband Carl Wooten died on 2/28/21 @ 8:30 am . He & I had always loved " Bluegrass Music & he was a banjo player himself to and he had 2 friends that he dearly loved to play and flat footing so did I. His friends were Bill Monroe and The Bluegrass Boys! His other friend was Dr. Ralph Stanley! I learned how to dance " flat footin" by my husband Carl. We were married for 36yrs wonderful yrs. We also have a 36 yr. old daughter , her name is Krystal and her daddy taught her at the age of 8 how to play " Wildwood Flower", she still remembers it very frequently! She also knows how to flat foot too. I enjoy your music even though he is R.I.P with God looking down on you as well as your band!! Take Care Now You Hear? A friend Patricia Wooten
Congratulations to having a special sound for so many years. You certainly had and knack of recruiting great members. You instrumentals and vocals were at superb levels. Many great gospel albums. It was a great night in Portsmouth Ohio around 1985 when I saw you with Jimmy,Terry, and Randy at the old Columbia theater!!Best wishes to you and family

When you say "final performance" do you mean the last one ever, or just the last one in this venue?
Doyle Lawson decided to retire at the end of 2021 so this was the last performance for the group.
