This is one of her best concerts vocally in the last decade. Between this and Renaissance, I’m noticing a phase out of the heavy/chesty growls on the upper belts, and honestly I love it. Noticed this especially I Care (the F5 climax doesen’t seem to growled). Her vocal choices are soo tasteful in this performance. One of the flute players said this show is 100% live, but who knows. The DIL climax seems at least partially non lipped as she obstructs the sound entering the mic with her hand at the very start. Honestly what impressed me more than anything in this show, is the focus on vocals from start to finish. Almost every song, had a “moment”. I can’t wait for the tour!!
DIL outro was live. You can hear the mic feeds bouncing all over. Ever before she got on that raising platform, there was 2nd mic placed on that platform, just in case the first mic blows out, with all the water works going on.
her belts sound so healthy! I can’t wait til we get the official recording…that’s if we ever do 😭 but these notes are literally nothin for her and people swear up and down she doesn’t have ease anymore smh also, I Care sounded 100% live for the first time ever, even that G5 was different than we’ve ever heard for the live version, same with the bridge!!!
Almost ALL shows by ANY performer have pre recorded elements. So lip synch and using pre recorded elements are not one in the same. I hate when people say you are a hater if you tell the truth or have a different opinion. I like Micheal Jackson. He uses pre recorded elements. I like Madonna. She has pre recorded elements. And guess what?...I like Beyonce. And she uses pre recorded elements. And no I'm not a hater. I'm a musician and I know what to listen for. Also, many stars have a "live voice" pre recording, where they rent a stadium and sing live and fuse it with elements of the studio version. Then they sing live at the actual concert and the feed goes in and out to give the illusion of being fully live when it actually isn't. And its not a big deal. Because ALL modern touring artist do it. And if you won't admit what everyone knows, that's on you. Even Beyonce said behind the whole Obama inauguration, "it's a very common practice in the music business."
@@briannaaudain928 the last runs and belts of drunk in love, c'mon, every other Eb5 is super short and growled and then at the end of the show, while flying full clear with vibrato, not breath
@@leoneeterno449 well the band and everyone involved said it was live so I will go based on that plus the mic feed tells me she sung live imo lol but to each their own lol
I am in looovvee with her tone. But I have noticed something in this performance, the Oscars performance, and even a little in Coachella and On The Run II Tour, that some of the upper belts like Eb5, though they are powerful and have a beautiful tone, I feel like they are very closed. I consider that the end of Drunk in Love in this performance sounded incredible, she has incredible support, amazing vibrato, smooth tone, and relaxed sound, ringing resonance but my only criticism is that the vowels are weirdly closed, I wish she would open up and drop her jaw more and let that resonance out even more. I am not saying the belts sound shrill, but I think Beyoncé pre-2017 would have opened up and had a more forward and brighter sound, especially during her Ms. Carter Tour. However, I am quite pleased that she seems to have adjusted her technique a little to suit her current voice by toning down the growls and lightening her mix a tad.
Stylistically done. For vanity. Notice all of your references she was touring. For her fans. She’s more relaxed. For television performances she’s conscious of how she looks. Remember she scrubbed the internet because of certain facial expressions she made during her superbowl performance.
I would say pre-2015 not 2017 tbh. I think she was purposefully darkening her upper belts and it sounded fine then, but since the twins her voice darkened naturally, so she doesn’t need to do that anymore. She should mix them more evenly now
thank you for acknowledging mrs carter tour... hive don't talk about her beyond flawless technique for that tour. mother was belting G5's in why don't you love me with an OPEN throat. forever my favorite (vocally)
@@edmundthomas858 listen i love beyonce and her voice very much truly one of the best. but i dont think she can pull off a mixed Bb5 and definitely not in 2023 her voice has gotten so heavy. she is a Mezzo-soprano.
There is some prerecording for sure (I care to me seams lipped, the Countdown run for sure is lipped, the last suspended-over-the-water Drunk in love adlibs are lipped, the Naughty girl adlib seams the same old Formation world tour track) but overall I think it's the most non-stop (outstanding, top-notch) live singing she has ever done in the longest time. For example, compared to the 2020 Kobe tribute, the vocal improvement is totally noticeable.
I don’t think anything is rehashed from old eras. I think everything was exclusively recorded for this show if that was the case. The Drunk in Love adlibs do seem to be prerecorded, I agree. “I Care” however sounds live for me and if it isn’t then amazing job honestly because she definitely did redo the entire song with ad libs and all because the bridge doesn’t sound like anything she’s ever done before. I honestly have no reason to think “Countdown” was lipped but it could be. And “Naughty Girl” absolutely sounds nothing like the Formation world tour because she goes up to an Eb5 in the Formation tour and it’s all done in head voice while this rendition is done with the came C#5 crescendo but incrementally getting chestier.
@@taytaybeynippy486 Maybe the high head voice part of the I care bridge is live - I think it sounds more "dirty" compared to the immediate previous bit. Nonetheless the majority of the concert is absolutely live, she took risks and delivered amazing vocals as fiercely as in her best Formation world tour or even Mrs Carter World Tour moments. Considering what a perfectionist she is - and how much prerec she usually rely on for videotaped/single-event performances such as Coachella - the amount of live vocals this time is outstanding and it makes my hopes high for the near future!
The show was 100% live. It was confirmed by musicians in the show. Beyoncé wanted the show to be focused on her voice, and with her being injured, she couldn’t dance.

Pretty sure 4:46 is an E5
I need to watch this spirit performance. Anyone has it?
Didnt she do most of these such as Halo in the original key??? Like same key she did since yeaaars ago
tbh with halo it’s more impressive in a lower key cause of the low note
I miss you friend, where you at?
She mixed in Luchini this is it in flaws and all . Unthinkable
I miss the Crazy in Love climax.
I have been saying this. Crazy in love used to be my favorite Bey song because of the climax, now...
