    WoW!! This DMM looks fantastic and you are always so ahead!! I had found it some weeks ago and I had added it in my AliExpress wishlist(might one day I'll be able to buy all of them😄). To increase brightness of LED I would remove that resistor next to it and I would test with a lower one😁.

      Great idea ! I really liked the contrast on the display, just too bad the bar graph wasn't more responsive! All in all a solid multimeter that you won't be ashamed to add to your toolbox! 🤣👍

    I'm impressed how those cheap Multimeters have improved over the past few years! They are very accurate and really a bargain! Of course i would say the cant compete with a professional Fluke in terms of usability, accuracy, safety and longevity.
    But for the moste common measurement task, they are okay, if you know what you are doing! :-)
    Mind the safety rules etc.!

      I started off with a cheap €10 hardware store MM. As time progressed I was looking for something with a few more options (like a hold function and auto-ranging) and everything from Fluke was just so expensive. Went with a Habotest HT118A for €20 instead of the cheapest Fluke which is €140 and doesn't even offer the same features. To come close to that I'd have to spend around €300 which makes no sense to me.

    Nice Review. Well this is a surprisingly decent effort from Aneng, about the best looking/working version ive seen so far in these smart meters. Not perfect but the build quality as you say is really decent, and its got a bit of a higher end appearance compared to most, the clean looking touch pad adds to that look and feel - doesnt look so much like a toy as some others - also was that a relay I saw on the pcb ? This ones a notch above Anengs usual offereings, theres been a clear effort to improve the breed here and that was a long time coming in these smart meters. Nice looking device with some performance and build quality to back it up.

    • @KeepOnTesting

    Your hotlink takes you to the ANENG 618A which has the lower frequency counter & maybe other things. FYI. Maybe the C you have requires a higher RF voltage to get to 10MHz. I like this display better than the Kaiweets.

    Darren, Thanks for a great review. On the frequency test, what was the amplitude? I'm surprised that they don't have plug in meter leads--like with an IEC plug and socket but only two leads of course for these little small meters. Anyway, I'm looking for the next review.

    Your reviews are great! This meter looks quite well packed with features for the price but for a multimeter that does not measure current that's a big fail for electronics testing. Replace that useless temperature reading with a current meter that would be perfect. Still a great meter for the other functions and to carry around in your pocket to show off to your mates in the pub.

    big advantage of this that they use 2 AAA bateries instead 9 volt on normal ones and battery often costs almost same as multimeter

  • @ericchang7706
    @ericchang7706 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you wanted to have something light that fit in your pocket for measuring voltage, it seems great. Because it lacks current, this is more of a 3rd meter after a Fluke, Habotest and then something like this. It would be great for measuring voltage in ceiling fixtures because it looks like you could hold the probes and read the meter all with one hand. Also, I'm not a fan of AAA batteries. Don't those dark LCDs draw higher quiescent currents?

    • @KeepOnTesting

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Understood! That being said I need to define a baseline and 50$ or less is the CHEAP-O ZONE we've established. Most CHEAP-O Multimeters are well below that threshold and easily fall in the 10-25$ range, however there are exceptions. 5$ Multimeters are atypical in this multimeter genre. Also, cost of living, annual income, country etc play a role in determining price. I'm based in North America and as such am partially influenced by this, however I do my best to determine overall value and cost effectiveness when 🤔 deciding on a particular multimeter no matter which country you live in. Value for the "global" dollar is always the largest determining factor.

    Nice meter, very cool. The main issue it the fixed cables..I had some fixed cables meters, and I need removable cables.
    I had one meter, a PeakTech 1020, that in current version 1020A has solved the problem with a cable to cable connectors.
    It was a good meter, the only problem was the limited visibility of the display when it was flat on the bench, because the LCD was too recessed in the front.
    You can see it here :www.peaktech.de/productdetail/kategorie/digital---handmultimeter/produkt/p-1020.html
    I bought it many years ago, and used for some times, then gave it as a present to a young relative for his first lab,
    Maybe some customers have complained, and they found a solution for the fixed cables.

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peaktech is on my TODO list.. they are much harder to source here in North America but I'm still hoping to review them. Attached leads can be problematic but Aneng has done a good job with the stock leads here. 👍

    • @KeepOnTesting
      @KeepOnTesting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rizzulazzi True, length is something you can't change with fixed leads. Crocodile clips usually just attach to the head of the probe. If you mean making one from a spare piece of wire, usually you would strip the wire to about 3/8", then bend it over the outer sleeve,then insert the bent wìre inside the crocodile jacket and finally crimp.
