Musicians who meet the girls and watch their process are always impressed with both their talent and the sibling magic that most bands will never match.
You can really tell that Pau is paying close attention to what Bugs is doing and saying. I imagine her to be a real sponge to learn everything she can even though she's already an excellent drummer at this stage of their career. They've said even recently that they are always open to learn more.
Great reaction! Qué momento tan especial en The Warning Cave, Bugs González es una persona empática y agradable. Gracias por seguir con estos videos y por aportar sus pensamientos. Thanks Glenn and Adrian!
I’m impressed with Bugs, he is enthusiastic and encouraging. He could have big footed the visit but was warm and open. You could see how impressed DPA are.
I saw the band Sweet (with guitarist Andy Scott & original drummer Mick Tucker early 90's). Tucker threw out his sticks & I caught one. That bottom of the stick was beaten to crap. While the skinny top portion wasn't a mark on it. Even the plastic tip wasn't used. My ears rang for 3 days after that concert. It was loud & great.
So Happy you guys are doing these Videos...so so interesting and Bugs seems to be truly impressed (as he should be) with the still quite young Villarreal Sisters and am sure his influence helped out Pau's already impressive drum skills. Waiting for the next. Cheers
Wonderful to watch real musicains communicating with another real musician. There was no trace of " I am a master and you are not". He obviously is trying to show off , BUT is looking for approval rather and adoration ( Dany's reaction aside).
@@glennandadriansrocktalkThere is another really good interview from 2015 but unfortunately it is in Spanish. It is the one were they played at an Indian Motorcycle festival in their hometown, the interviewer also interviews another guy from another band and he predicted that in 10 yrs they would be famous.
@@glennandadriansrocktalk It was, specially for Pau, he must have given her more tips and suggestions after the video. And the life and industry advice even more so. I had forgotten that buggs had a background in jazz drumming.
@@glennandadriansrocktalk Thank you looking forward to that one, I think I had also left a comment there to turn on the close captions but I don't think it was ever done.
You can see Bug's infectious love for music wash over the girls. As if they needed even more...:) Pau's intrigue with Bug's double kick was probably what motivated her to add it to her future work when the song demanded it.
Loved this. Pau is hanging on his every word and observing every detail, Dany is engaged on the music, and Ale is thinking about snacks!. Loved to see this and have been a fan of Los Lobos since the 80s. I think that Pau has always had a drum sound concept in her head and that is hasn't changed drastically, but her technique has gotten very efficient. Also, I think you are right about their writing process. When they write at the piano they get the overall ideas put together and then they work all together to craft the song, so guitar lines and bass feed off of each other and the drum lines are all integral. Not a random group jam session to fit pieces together but a single thought process (with all three of their input).
I don’t think Ale was thinking on snacks since she had to work harder to match her sisters skills to be able to play with them and today being recognized by Dany and Pau as the perfectionist and human metronome. I know you are kidding and I m trying not to be rude, just giving Ale the credit she deserves. Rock on The Warning Army! 🤘
If Pau played that way, the way Bugs held the sticks, she would hurt her knuckles especially the way she used to play more all over the place like Muppet Style .FunFact .Even at that young age Bugs was making comments about how well Pau played and asking her how she made the fills she did .Very interesting Bugs brought up marching band thats the sound I thought of right away with his drumming and John Bonham and drum solos also fit the way he is playing .
Agreed, that method of stick holding would not work for Pau! I don't know that very many rock drummers hold them that way, but all the jazz guys did. Elvin Jones is one of my drumming heros and Bugs reminded me of that.
We do know it was producer George Martin who was The Beatles magic. It was him who put those difficult sounds (piano, guitar at different speeds) into the mix. If George Martin didn't produced The Beatles. I really don't think The Beatles weren't be as big as they were. After The Beatles called it quits. Geore Martin went to produce the soft rock trio *America.* The had a run of big hits with George Martin directing that band in the 1970's.
Love each of the sisters different reactions. Ale is mildly interested, Dany is glowing as she talks with this master musician, while Pau intently observes everything he does and says - learning as much as she can.

Ringo is another left handed drummer who plays with a right handed kit. He's always credited it with being a major part of his unique sound.
Excellent my friends... excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

XXI Century Blood is probably my favorite Warning original song. They've put out some great ones since. The original music video is epic!
I love watching musicians talk shop.
Humble. That's a great word to describe Pau. She is a good student. You can see her really trying to absorb what bugs was doing.
Don't think she is "trying" to absorb..I think she is sucking in every bit of data. It's amazing to watch her total attention and concentration.
I'm glad you found this series. This one is new to me (they have so much content out there we're spoiled).
This seems to have been a super productive visit.

The Bugs series is a good one. Plenty of name musicians really like everything about TW, they know.

@@peluchingamarra3127 Yes I was kidding. She is a consummate pro. Even then.
🤘I'd love to hear what Pau has to say about his influence and help all these years later.

Damn, I will listen to La Bamba with a brand new hear by now.
