@00DirectorsCut00 I would suggest to try at your local store. I would go with Nord instead of buying any other E-Piano! But you´ve got to check out the Roland V-Piano as well... Regards from Germany!
As a begginner i would reccomend trying the yamaha DGX series. I played for 10 years, 8 on an acoustic and 2 on a dgx which i broke when moving house so am considering the Nord Stage 2 also. The dgx is only 600 pounds, has more functions including built in fuctions to record your own playing, play along to other music, tuition, and the grand piano sounds are good, >500 voices, plus id guess the keyboard weighting is more like a real piano but ive not played a nord piano 2 yet.
on your side there is a beautiful steinway & sons :OOO playing that grand piano, how do you feel with nord? some people say the action is a too soft? don't you think would be better a roland or yamaha (x the action) x a steinway player? thank you
Dermeister can u please respond, I'm a beginner at piano playing I'm doubting between the new Nord Piano 2 and the Roland Fp4f what would u think is a better stage piano for a beginner, Thanks!
Sounds great - but surely it's better to just get the Nord Stage 2? Do you know if the Nord Piano 2 is better than the one you're playing? Also please could you tell me the name of the piece you play at 0:40? I know it so well but cannot remember the title!!
I don´t think there is a huge difference. But when you record directly from the piano-output, using a high sample rate (e.g. 192kHz) I would suggest the larger files in order to ensure maximum quality. For live oder home usage, medium files are perfect.
Do you notice any difference between Xlrg files on the piano library and the large files? I dont have a nord piano but getting a electro 3 HP through the mail, awesome machine but dissapointed that it can't handle Xlrg.
@00DirectorsCut00 Give it a try, I found I quite liked it. More than any Yamaha digital I have tried, save for the Avantgrand but that's another story... the Nord feels good.
Well, this depends very much on the style you are playing. If you prefer to play only classical, a Nord Piano could be perfect for you although I would recommend to check out Yamaha Clavinova and Kawai. These are very suitable for beginners too. If you wish to play several other styles of music and need inspiration, I would recommend Motif or Phantom G. Thx
I'll take lessons in classical piano and need a digital piano that is closest to an acoustic piano. I assume you are a pianist. Would you recommend the Nord Piano? If so, why?
Dude, nice playing. I gotta say tho. I know nord and its like the best boards out there. But do u realize there is a steinway and sons in the background? :-)
I recommend using the Stereo Output and a good audio interface with minimum 2 mono inputs. The internal effects are pretty good so there´s no need for a lot of additional software effects. In this video I recorded the headphone output of the piano into a Zoom H1. For professional purposes I use an Edirol FA101 and ProTools 11.
schön, aber was du mit dem clavinet d6 spielst.... ist nicht funky, das kannst du auf den cembali spielen aber die clav's müssen funken! trotzdem schöne übersicht, leider ist sowas auf TH-cam in der Qualität viel zu selten
Hi, the key action is way better than one would expect it to be. I would not compare it to an actual piano, but it´s pretty advanced for an E-Piano. If you need ultra-realistic key response, try the Roland V Piano. Unfortunately, it´s quite expensive...
What did you play around 00:40? What did you play around 00:40? What did you play around 00:40? What did you play around 00:40? What did you play around 00:40? What did you play around 00:40? I am afraid there is no such function on the Nord. But you can always use a software sampler such as the NI Markee to do that. The Nord does not have a Fender Bass either... cheers!
I'm thinking of buying a 2nd hand original Nord Piano 88 (for XMas present), but wonder if I should be buying a newer model instead? I am looking for a transportable keyboard which has closest feel and sound to real piano that I can afford. If you had time to give me your opinion it would be much appreciated, thanks.
Hey thanks for considering my opinion. Actually, the Nord Piano Gen. 1 is still considered a very solid solution. From my point of view, the newer models add sound features only, the hammer action feels similar or is in fact the same. I´ll suggest you look into a preowned Nord and combine it with Ravenscroft Software. Search TH-cam for their NAMM Demos, it sounds incredible. They even got an iPhone Version so you can pair it with a bluetooth Midi interface. If you want the best hammer action available, get a Kawai VPC. The only downside is, that you´ll always need a computer for your virtual instruments of course. Other good choices could be a Yamaha Motif or the Korg SV. Totally different feel though...

To be honest: of course the Nord Stage is the better choice, but it is more expensive as well. In my opinion the Nord Piano 2 is not worth the extra money. I´d rather spend the extra money on a good software sampler (Native Instruments Komplete) instead of paying for a bit of Nord´s Sample Library. Regards
Sorry but no i just dont get the appeal of the acoustic pianos on the nord piano. Every sound was tinny. Best acoustic piano sound ive heard on a stage piano is the upright on the cp73/cp88. Nord is really good for rhodes and organ though ill admit that. Id say kawai mp11se is a front runner too
such beautiful hands!
Wer da nicht auf Lust aufs Klavierspielen bekommt, ist selbst Schuld!
Grandios gemacht!
dramatic performance very good
A great demo -- very comprehensive.
Beautiful playing!
Nice instrument, nice playing! You should do more videos.
@00DirectorsCut00 I would suggest to try at your local store. I would go with Nord instead of buying any other E-Piano! But you´ve got to check out the Roland V-Piano as well...
Regards from Germany!
There's a Steinway behind, a red beast and a black beast together. This is too much!!!
I'll go die somewhere else...
@zendium91 happy to hear that :) regards from Germany!
I love the background.
@Dermeisterammac thank you

@Goodwill300 And is it good at classical stuff like u played in the beginning i really love that tone its really Steinway like :o.
sehr schön gespielt!!! =)
@Dermeisterammac Thanks for your reply, it sounds wonderful. I just figured it out on the piano, easy but wonderful :)
I'd be interested to see if you can play the rest of Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# Minor.
@Mo19010100 Danke für das Kompliment! Ursprünglich war ein Vergleichsvideo geplant
wow, i would much rather see a demo of that beautifull steinway and sons piano you got there...thats the real deal :D
on your side there is a beautiful steinway & sons :OOO playing that grand piano, how do you feel with nord? some people say the action is a too soft? don't you think would be better a roland or yamaha (x the action) x a steinway player? thank you
What is the title of the first melody?????? great playing! Grettings from Poland
Harpsicord voice is bach prelude in c minor book 1
This is fantastic, really love the sounds and style. Do you know about the Nord Stage 2?
Bravo super 🙂🙂
@00DirectorsCut00 nord stereo out directly into edirol fa 101 / protools 9. regards
Thnks for the demo ! But isn't the touch to soft ? And do you know if there's a big difference between this one and the Nord Piano 2 about it ?
what a beautiful sound
@IIIVIIIIVIII vielen Dank! in weiteres Video ist in Planung..

Hey man, provide a tracklist already! I want to learn many of these short riffs :)
@instrumentenfreak :) eventuell mache ich noch mal eines mit Effekten etc...
Hello dermesiterammac, im doubting between this piano and the roland fp7f. I never played the piano before, what do u think is the best to start with.
@00DirectorsCut00 Give it a try, I found I quite liked it. More than any Yamaha digital I have tried, save for the Avantgrand but that's another story... the Nord feels good.
Beautiful demo!!!,so captivated by your talents.Just wondering how many effects/preset sounds you get from the factory presets ? :)
the rachmaninoff sounds beautiful on that.. how's the action for playing classical?
Well, this depends very much on the style you are playing. I'd like to hear something a little funkier for the Rhodes patches, but not a bad demo. good playing.
I'll take lessons in classical piano and need a digital piano that is closest to an acoustic piano. I assume you are a pianist. Would you recommend the Nord Piano? If so, why?
Ah! C#minor Nocturne!! I remember now!
What did you play around 2:07? Sounds wonderful! Would love to know where this tune comes from :)
Thanks for your work. One quesiton: how did you record your playing. Great playing by the way.
were all of these pianos smaller files. how did you fit all of them on there?
@Mo19010100 Da haben Sie allerdings recht. Leider wird hier auf YT wenig beleuchtet, wie sich die Sounds der Nord-Serie von den jeweiligen Originalen unterscheidet. @Dermeisterammac but you can afford a steinway!?
@raydenovo Chopin Nocturne Nr. 20 Opus posthume - best regards
haha so cool you playing that thing with a steinway & sons piano on the background
how do you rec the audio of this video? nord output to pc? with a ext audio card, d.i box? what? ty
i'd like to play more the steinway on the background :)
Thank you for your performance! What is the track started at 4.56 (17.NotInLove)? Thnx!
A veeeeeery free rendering of Gran Torino: th-cam.com/video/NoLc43YuuTw/w-d-xo.html
Why Armin van Buuren doesnt have a Roland RD 700 NX? He has a Nord...
@saheltaja thank you
take a look behind.. steinway and sons
+Károlyi László And a real grand piano too
what is the first song that gets played?
how would u compare this to the roland fp7f?
Dude, nice playing. I gotta say tho. I know nord and its like the best boards out there. But do u realize there is a steinway and sons in the background? :-)
Hahaha thanks for that captain obvious! No but really, that cracked me up.
:-)
Iam ur biggest fan, from Mexico :)
I'm really considering buying this piano. How do you record it though?
I recommend using the Stereo Output and a good audio interface with minimum 2 mono inputs. The internal effects are pretty good so there´s no need for a lot of additional software effects. In this video I recorded the headphone output of the piano into a Zoom H1. For professional purposes I use an Edirol FA101 and ProTools 11.
Dermeisterammac Thank you very much :)
What songs do you play ?
I love the Bodo Wartke - song :-)
I want this!
6:24 !
How is this called ?
what is the 1st one? Plz rply
You can download them from Clavia´s website for free. Just choose a smaller sample size for the instruments you do not fancy.

How is the first song called im searching for it for months
It is called Prelude in C Sharp Minor by Rachmaninoff
Rachmaninov - Prelude in C Sharp Minor
Dermeisterammac That was fast! Thank you very much :)
trevortjes sure :)
Dermeisterammac yeah the one that the girl plays in Karate Kid
Can I get the titles?
As many as 10 competitors have nord piano?
Hello, tell me about key action is similar to a piano? how it's feel? is realistic

Is this keyboard a good standart for piano student?
Indeed! But you might want to try the newer V2 version of the Nord Piano or a Kawai MP as well. Anyway, nothing beats a Roland V-Piano.
is there a split function on this model? to play fender Rhodes bass on left side and regular Rhodes on right
I am afraid there is no such function on the Nord. But you can always use a software sampler such as the NI Markee to do that. The Nord does not have a Fender Bass either... cheers!
It would be nice to be able to play The Doors stuff on this keyboard, such as Riders on The Storm

Wow! That's amazing! Thank you SO much for your help. I'm now much more confident in my purchase.
Sure, always happy to oblige!
I can :) I tried to record it this morning in order to upload it but I was not pleased with my own musical interpretation so no upload sorry
Nord Piano 1 is controller?
This is electric stage piano.
It's best to Play a song that suites the Sounds. Like the Rhodes and claves sounds you could've learned a little Stevie Wonder or Steely Dan.
@Hello200707 thought the same...
Hi - very cheap setup: I used the stereo output to record with my Zoom H1.
@zendium91 it´s written by the german composer Bodo Wartke, a beautiful song on about to take a girl to dinner.

Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C# Minor
@Goodwill300 I would o with Nord. It has the better mechanic and plays much more realistic. If you´ve got about 5000€ to spend, buy a roland g piano

thumbs up for Rachmaninov!
go with the nord, the roland g is not user friendly i had the g8, could not stand it
To be honest: of course the Nord Stage is the better choice, but it is more expensive as well. In my opinion the Nord Piano 2 is not worth the extra money. I´d rather spend the extra money on a good software sampler (Native Instruments Komplete) instead of paying for a bit of Nord´s Sample Library. Regards

I have to admit you are correct: but remember this was 8 years go. I have switched to a NU1X ever since...
@catslovesushidotcom Rachmaninov Prelude Cis moll
Prefer the Steinway you have got in the background.
@houseofporridge yes but i can´t afford it ;)
I did'nt heard the real pianosound.. Otherwise i will buy it! ;)
LOL, here i see a nord piano, and rear that there is a steinway, why playing this?
Ich hab ne Beschwerde: das Video ist zu kurz!
Wait you are playing with this Nord BUT LOOK I CAN SEE A BIG STEINWAY WHY YOU PLAY WITH A NORD !!!!!!!!! USE THE STEINWAY WTF
