EXCLUSIVE: The Giant Schnauzer ‘Fur Missiles’ Used During Prison Riots

  • Imagine finding yourself in the middle of a prison riot, outnumbered 50-to-1 and your main defense was a giant schnauzer. That’s right, a schnauzer! It is a situation Senior Team Leader Joseph Garcia has found himself in many times, and those who know him and his dogs will bet on them every time! Using a combination of cutting-edge technology and 100-pound giant schnauzer dogs, Garcia runs into fights few others are willing to. That is why we put him and his schnauzers on the cover of the August/September 2020 issue of Tactical Life Magazine. Digital and print subscriptions are available now at www.OutdoorGroupStore.com.

They're cracking dogs, my aunt had a mid sized one, she was ridiculously protective of her and myslef because I walked her for her. One pf my friends decided to test how protective she was... FYI i wanred him not to do it...he started shooving me, with say ten seconds he needed new pants.

I went looking for more of the videos showing these dogs actually working all different conditions and places he was talking about. And there weren’t any. You are wearing body cams, and the dogs are too. So can we really get some more dog videos both working, training, and at home. It sure would be nice for those who couldn’t care less about guns on a training range. Boring for many of us who are not war oriented but like seeing the dogs and how they help you in actual situations. It’s interesting to me.

I have a 9 month old female Giant Schnauzer. Best dog ever! Very intelligent but also stubborn. You have to create boundaries and be the alpha or they will run you over. My girl is my dog and she follows me everywhere. She is very territorial and prey drive is coming out daily. We are working on her commands and as she is not a police dog or true protection dog so to speak, we want her to know her commands and listen and respond appropriately. I just can’t say enough good things about this breed but you have to be in control but in a good way. Exercise and mental stimulation!!

I owned a Giant Schnauzer. Owning one is a full time job. They have a lot of energy and require a lot exercise and attention. Ideally, they need a job to be happy. Most people would not be able to handle them and the lifestyle change associated with owning one. Daily, I would walk her 1-2 miles twice a day. Play with her in the backyard 30-45mins twice a day. I would also do training with her about 45mins per day. I still couldn't burn her energy. She was a very loyal and affectionate dog. We miss her but I would not get another. We now have a mini.

at the time of this video....I challenge anyone who is watching is to do the math. He says 10yrs ago they were the FIRST to bring the dogs over. So that is 2010. And it takes 2.5 years (so he says) to go through their process. So, at the time of this video in 2020, at the price point he specifies (i believe he says around the 7:15 point) that there is over $100K invested in the dogs. My question is, what is his price point to bring himself and his allegedly prison riot ready Giants into that situation is more cost effective than just calling out the National Guard to quell the riot. My speculation is -----> this is why there are no videos posted by him showing how they have squashed a prison riot.
