This did happen to me about two years ago when I was first moving to Spain to teach English. I packed two brand new suitcases with pretty much my whole wardrobe besides my Minnesota winter clothes. Both bags were stolen off the baggage claim belt in Madrid within 10 minutes of my arrival. I lost years of collected vintage pieces, things passed down from my grandmother, and my childhood quilt. All I was left with was a couple pieces in my carry on bag. Every once and a while I am reminded of a piece that I lost, it was devastating. I just hope whoever stole them was my size!
This literally just happened to me ): I moved to seattle a week ago and someone stole our uhaul and the police found it abandoned and wiped clean of everything my partner and I owned. I'm currently trying to rebuild what I can but the years of collecting and vintage clothes I curated being gone rips my heart apart. This video gave me a really good basis of what I should start with so thank you
Your upload schedule is SO CRAZY to me! I love love love your content but also hope that you're taking care of yourself! I have a BFA in film if you ever need an extra editor lol
I would immediately buy a couple oversized graphic t-shirts (I love the ones from urban), my frye banana campus boots, a couple pairs of thrifted mens' jeans, and like three of the free people easy street sweaters in various colors (the best sweaters on the planet). add in a couple dresses and maybe a pair of sneakers and I'm set for YEARS
i was interested in the free people sweaters you mentioned and i'm sorry but $128 FOR AN ACRYLIC SWEATER???? is it really that good now i need to know lol
I loved loved loved this video because of your challenging me to think about what i would want to repurchase if i lost all of my things. This was shocking for me because i realized that there is very little that i actually have a specific connection with in my wardrobe. Now im rethinking everything wondering why i don't LOVE any of my clothing items to need them exactly again. I think i would want a pair of medium wash vintage Levis 501 jeans and my Steve madden rocky boots in black. I want to continue to think about what i truly love in my wardrobe now!
Love this! I’d need to repurchase- 100% cotton cream-colored short-sleeve button-down Vintage straight-leg Wranglers in a mid-wash Black slide sandals Boiled wool shirt/cardigan to use as a light jacket.. probably red
no birkin basket?! just joking haha these pieces are amazing!! the one piece i would immediately repurchase if i lost my entire wardrobe would be a vintage black leather motor jacket. i got it from my mom, she wore it in the 90s, and it's originally from blues heroes! it just means so much to me and is so essential to my style that i consider it to be the soul of my wardrobe
i would repurchase (this makes me realize what my "character" outfits would be): cream platform hightop converse sneakers midwash mom jeans low-waisted grandma-patterned maxi skirt tight fitted tank top oversize long sleeve plaid button up cream button up cardigan/jacket
This happened to me In 2020 I lost all of my possessions not just clothing but furniture all my possessions. I had to start over with my wardrobe of course. And over the last 2 years I am really happy with the fabrics and items I have added. Getting things that will last the test of time! (And then I went and lost 20 pounds lol so I need to replace some pants/jeans and then I’m good to go again! ❤ Great video!
loved this video!! my one item that i would definitely repurchase is the kathleen mesh tank in black from brandy melville! it's $22 and i've had it over a year and wear it all the time it can be dressed up or down very easily and it's pretty easy to find on secondhand sites!!!
Interesting video concept! I think one of the first pieces I would rebuy is my Faconnable linen jacket that I bought many years ago. It’s a bit oversized, almost more of a car coat than a blazer. It’s that neutral sort of flax color, the linen is heavy and it’s lined so I can wear it Spring through fall. Of course it would be impossible to find now. But it’s such an indispensable piece in my wardrobe, it’s the first thing I thought of.
My choices of the moment are Vans Slip On Checkerboards, old Lee Jeans made out of 100% cotton, 4 vintage leather jackets preferably in black, brown, white and dark blue, a pair of classic black shoes, tank tops and longsleeves in black, brown, dark blue and olive green and two white neckholder summer dresses
Madewell Button Front Wide Leg Crop blue Jeans, Uniqlo black T-shirt, Liberty of London ditsy button down shirt, black and white polka dot shirt (any brand will do), striped business shirt (any brand), fitted black velvet blazer (my current one is from Aussie brand Sportscraft), black teva sandals, Birkenstock Gizeh's in stone, an assortment of flower brooches for my blazer, a dark denim tote bag (my current one is Levi's but I'm always on the lookout for any brand as long as it's dark denim. That's it!
Couple of my staple items would be levi’s jeans (501 or rib cage straight), Nike air max 97 spesifically in a pearl pink colour way (love a chunkier sneaker) and a quality wool coat cause i live in colder climate. i have one from the brand comma and would totally repurchase even though that would be expensiveee.
I would repurchase the Mejuri Spheres Chain Necklace in Sterling Silver and my coach outlet signature jacquard bucket hat in charcoal. These are my go to accessories, I cannot live without them!
As a man if I was advising someone who's just starting out MY 7 STARTER ITEMS WOULD BE : jackpot blue wash Weekday Astro Jean Wide (black) dress or "smart" pant (Asos) Uniqlo white airism (oversized) t shirt Black or unique loafer black lace up derby a versatile sneaker like a black or brown leather Moab 3 waterproof or Asics gel kayano 14 and lastly a choice of either a crewneck or zip up hoodie. (just make sure it is of good quality and vintage so a lil washed out and beat up)
This might be unhealthy, but the thing that I would repurchase, legit no matter the cost, would be specific concert merch. I am OBSESSED with music and have been as long as I can remember and my style has a comfy/edgy touches to an otherwise thrifty "aesthetic," so band tees fit really well, but the ones of my favorite artists from shows that I've been too would gut me if I lost them somehow. Not only is it an "I love music and these are my favorite artists," thing but also I often go to concerts with friends and family so those garments don't just remind me of the artist and their show, but also time spent with loved ones. I do have an irreplaceable cardigan that was handed down to me from my great great grandma and one from my great grandma that if I lost those, I could never replace them and it would absolutely KILL me. Especially the one from my great great grandma.
Levi’s ribcage ankle jeans, reebok club c doubles, black old navy bestee tee, and baggu medium crescent bag. That is all I wear every day anyway 🤣 maybe add an old urban outfitters Hanna dress in there…
I would have to repurchase my mid waist mid blue wide leg ripped allsaints jeans they’re the perfect wash the perfect length for my short legs and they have fitted me through fluctuating weight !! Would be an instant repurchase
I would totally repurchase my onitsuka tigers, the Mexico 66 low top sneakers in white with rose gold. Best $170 dollars spent. So easy and simple to dress them both casual and professional. Theyre so comfortable I even made it my airport shoe once and it didn’t hurt my feet. I love them and use them almost everyday. (Another item would be my Nike Zoom Air Fire’s in the Red and Blue colorway but I couldn’t find my size so I settled for the green and white.)
I’ve always loved a low profile sneaker tooo… I had a pair of sambas years ago, and wore through the sole. And repurchased… my gotos are keds champion, onasuka tigers and converse. I too has such a hard time getting on the dad sneaker trend.
I would definitely repurchase my leather leopard print shoulder bag from a brand in Albania,GM leather I reach for it almost everyday it suits my style so much
I'm obsessed with a vintage tommy hilfiger shoulder bag I own that used to be my mom's 20 years ago. Its nothing special but it's always my go to and its slowly deteriorating. I honestly dont know what to buy to fill the gap. Initially I wanted a coach purse but i just cannot justify the price
I always like to think the coach bag will last you for 20 years and if you ever have kids or find someone worthy of the bag you can give it to them. They probably will cherish the bag as much as you cherish your moms
I like ur new setup alot ❤ I would repurchase Johnny Bulls Tall black leather boots second hand. And High Rise Flared Topshop Hourglass Jeans in a midblue 🎉
This game would suck for me, because through the misfortune of my style, my staples are precise and often vintage pieces that can’t be replaced because they don’t make them no more. My staples are one specific 80s sweater, one specific pair of Akris pants, one specific Cos tshirt, etc 😪 misery
even if it's just pretend I know, this scenario hurts my head lmao I'm way too attached to my wardrobe because I know at least half of it I can't repurchase esp the vintage and second hand ones. But to participate here's what I'd repurchase - 1. A white puff capsleeve cotton button down blouse 2. midwash midrise flare denim jeans. 3. Chocolate brown genuine leather loafers - Old England brand 4. Addidas dragon sneakers in gray blue 5. A cotton baby ringer tee with graphic print (white shirt with a pop of color print)
i would repurchase my oversised, ivory christy hoodie from brandy melville, my reallyyy basic grey sweater from pull & bear, my white reebok club c´s, my brandy melville mckenna bow tee, black converses, my army green oversised jacket from h&m, my h&m low waisted dark denim flared jeans, white basic socks (that aren´t too high or too low. i hate too low socks ughhh), my black flower dress from c&a. and for jewellery my silver hoop earrings and my dainty silver ring with the small diamond
Weird, I clicked your dress link and the one it took me to looks totally different :/ the cut is not the same at all, there’s no frilly bottom it just ends 😬 I’m puzzled
lol this is so random and specific but a universal thread fitted v neck shirt from target, it’s $8 and thin but omaigad it hugs the body so nice, i wear it all the time in spring & summer 🥲 ALSO uniqlo ankle jeans in any shade (im petite so they fit normal to me)

no birkin basket?! just joking haha these pieces are amazing!! the one piece i would immediately repurchase if i lost my entire wardrobe would be a vintage black leather motor jacket. i got it from my mom, she wore it in the 90s, and it's originally from blues heroes! it just means so much to me and is so essential to my style that i consider it to be the soul of my wardrobe
I was sure a birkin basket would be the last item!
i would repurchase (this makes me realize what my "character" outfits would be):
cream platform hightop converse sneakers
midwash mom jeans
low-waisted grandma-patterned maxi skirt
tight fitted tank top
oversize long sleeve plaid button up
cream button up cardigan/jacket
I can’t believe the Birkin basket didn’t make the cut

Honestly I would repurchase my black sambas too😅idk they’re really cool and comfortable to me.also my gentle monster sunglasses.
The men’s goodfellow brand at target makes a great cotton tshirt pack, I think it’s like $15 for four or something.
