Today we travel back to a time where gardening and pinata collecting was the highlight of my days. I am of course talking about Viva Pinata, I used to play this game a lot as a kid but haven't touched it for many years now. Will it still be a beloved memory or will it be shattered into pieces? Well let's find out by grinding all 50 achievements!

Oh man, I wasn't expecting this. I loved this game as a kid. Spent so many hours with it trying to see how to make the various pinatas and turn the sours. A lot of fun messing around back then because it wasn't as easy to look stuff up.
Jazzy's anger towards the boring achievement names in this episode are off the charts! I thought my speakers were gonna break from his Earth shattering volume from his yelling!
It is something of a trigger for me.
Seriously, this was one of the first games that actually had achievements, people thought they were inane and stupid so probably didn't put much thought into them.

To be fair it is one of the first 360 games so having a 50 hour achievement is reasonable since back then there wasnt much else to play on it. That and the game is just fun to play
god this was one of my absolute dream games as a child! i allways wanted it but never got it. totally forgot about it though. this is an amazing nostalgia trip

You don't have to romance the same two piñatas for master romancer, just pick two new piñatas from new eggs of the species you want each time and romance level one until you've hatched 7eggs and the achievement will pop. See your mum can still show you a thing or two 😉 Loved playing this could easily give it more than 50 hours of my time xx
You don't even need to do that. You just need to have 7 pinatas of the same species in your garden at once. You could buy 7 of each of the paper's pets pinatas and have the hunter help speed up the process for the others
@@Nevets767 Hell, simply evolving and Pinatas that are capable of evolving after master romancing them is also a good method too.

I find it amusing thinking about how the last achievement would be absolute hell back in the day with pretty much every console suffering from red ring issues

I have so many good childhood memories with Viva Pinata! I don't think I'd want a modern sequel or anything, but the concept of a farming/animal husbandry sim with a food chain is super awesome and should be done again.

Man, I remember seeing commercials for this as a kid. Seeing the actual game now, I wasn't expecting it to be a gardening game of all things. Not dissing, or anything, just that my kid mind thought it was an action-adventure type because that's what I was used to at the time.

i grew up on this game! i also did the chilli thing for money... i think i got the 'play for 50 hours' achievement genuinely as a kid. very good game!
Fun fact: The first game was originally made by Rare's mobile game department for the unreleased Microsoft Mobile PC, when the mobile PC didn't release rare decided to use this game first because they were having trouble with programming the game that would eventually become Trouble in Paradise.

Another tip to get a good amount of money is to breed Tafflies. Tafflies are pretty low-level pinatas that have the easiest/cheapest evolution methods in the game. Simply buy a light that has fire (if I remember correctly, it's just 100 coins), and then just keep getting Tafflies. Keep evolving them, then sell their evolved form to make bank.

i played this so much as a kid! this game has some great music and i loved all the colorful critters 😄 viva pinata was one of the first games i learned how to look up guides for so i could get the more difficult animals. please do make a trouble in paradise video! i never got to play that one

I cannot remember a single game that consumed time like viva piñata lmao.
I remember being a kid on a Saturday morning turing on my DS then next thing i knew my mom was calling me for dinner. It was in the genre i like to call time travel games, alongside the sims and minecraft. Though it was my first experience with such a game.
I agree with the 50 hour achievement being ridiculous, this game is my absolute favourite and I managed to beat the game fully by reaching max level and earning every badge. I still haven't unlocked the master longevity achievement :(

Sorry to point it out but with the paper pets piñatas you can cheese their master romance by just buying ten of them or nine and then just romance them once

I’d love to see you play TIP, that one is my childhood game lmao. Fair warning about it though, several achievements require either multiplayer or scanning vision cards, meaning it’s questionable if all of them are even possible in modern day as the vision cards require additional hardware plus the cards themselves. I’d love to see if you can find a way around that however
Viva pinata was one of the first games I played on 360 actually before I owned a 360 when I couch gamed on my neighbors console. When I finally got a 360 I eventually got this game but every time I play it and my friends see me playing it, they call me "gay." Every time I want to play this game I have to put myself to offline so that I wont get teased by my friends... its really unfortunate. I am glad to see a youtuber playing this gem of a game all the same.

Another great money making strategy is to turn Tafflies into Redhots, it makes less cash, but you can make like 4000 per taffly, and the cost is just a few flowers
Looks like a fun cute game, but yeah that 50 hour playtime achievement? oof. To be fair Neir Automata would take a long time, but at least you won't be sitting idle for days, might be some chonky grinds for a couple of things though. (But hey, at least there's awesome music while you're playing!)
So, fun fact about Viva Pinata and it's Tv Series: The show aired one month before this game released, used to advertise the game. The show ran for two seasons, each episode having two segments attached to them. Anywho, PLEASE play the sequel!! I need more Viva Pinata content!!
I forget if the first game had the opening that was in the show or not, but if so:That opening is narrated by the character you send your Pinatas to, Langston Lickatoad. (He doesn't technically appear in this game, but he does appear in the sequel, and has an important role in the TV series). Langston's voice actor is, funny enough, Mike Pollock, the same voice actor who voices Dr. Eggman.

Man, I distinctly remember playing this game for hundreds of hours as a kid, though. I'm not sure how I made it so far into the game, I had no idea about this hybrid/evolving system, at best I probably got the Red Hot by accident, wild to think I managed to get a Dragonache but had no clue how to get a Horstachio, though. memory is really spotty, I love this game through and through. I need to replay it some time
