      Too bad for all of the money she ALREADY paid. Had she left SOONER she could have kept more of it. I wanted a follow up where the mother and ex husband both end up homeless and have to sleep in the dog house literally.

    She should not even have NEEDED to be helping her mother in law as much as she was. Just BEING MARRIED TO HER SON is enough to be considered a member of the family and be treated as such.

    What us wrong with these mothers. I am very grateful for the spouses of each one of my children. Whether I would marry them or not isn't relevant! Ridiculous if people like this actually exist.

      I absolutely HATE the "man" my youngest daughter is living with,but she loves him, so I stay quiet. I would rather have my daughter in my life than prove I am right about him.
      Hopefully, in time, she will realize that he is a no-good idiot who can't seem to stay out of jail.

    The way homelessness is portrayed in this story. My mom kicked me out at 14 years old because her new boyfriend said I was cute. I was on the street until I turned 16. I studied for and passed the GED exam. I started working and was able to rent a room with a family near my job at the supermarket. Being homeless is extremely difficult :/

    Absolutely time to get Divorced, not a separation, put a lien against the home. How this young lady was roped into this unbearable situation is beyond rational.

    The loan is in Lisa's name. Maybe it was for renovations for MIL's house but it's still her responsibility. If she stops paying, it's her credit that's going to take the hit. And if she took out a personal loan to pay for the renovations, how was she able to use someone else's house as collateral.

    • @moniquestuckey-kirkham7762
      @moniquestuckey-kirkham7762 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      You do have a point, however if there was a way to remedy the loan by stating she isn't an occupant and in the divorce made her ex husband take over the loan as his own because he lives there or his mother putting in her name because she lives there, that would be the reason she could possibly stop paying the loan! Since it was renovations it was going through the Mortgage company and she was the Gaurantor the guarantor I believe can stop paying and it would be on the other parties who list the address as occupied! So when it comes to realtor finances there are outs to it!

    • @cgamejewels
      @cgamejewels ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Ikr. even if they used the equity in the home, the bank/mprtgage company isn't going to have the DIL as the person responsible for the loan. I don't think Tom would be responsible for the loan either. They might have her or Tom as the guarantor in case Mil can't pay. The loan should be in MIL's name.

    So similar about the family I was in, iwas With a female for seven year's, treating her mob as family, worked hard, paid bill's etc, everything was fine until we were expecting my first child a daughter!!! Then soon afterward the birth mother decided to move her proudly unemployed brother and two other unemployed idiots, they (including the birth mother) now fully allowed her son and relatives steal cash and things I got for My child,I encluded her son as my own, but nothing changed except the locks on the house I was paying for rent bills etc then they called social services (, child protection services) accusing me of violence, drugs selling and taking, yet I was working in the next county over from mine!!?? They even attempt to Access my bank account, needless to say my daughter turned out the same, I wasn't family (apparently ) just a cash cow , aka ATM machine, so after years of abuse by the drugged up loser's and their lies, they lost the House I was paying for, as unemployed druggies couldn't pay their way, they used the daughter to emotionally blackmail me into paying up, explained how can anyone ask a person dead in her eyes pay for anyone!??? Last I heard the birth mother and her daughter were and still are homeless, pity really,but no way back for any of them

    Why was the loan in DIL's name and not Tom's? Wow, Tom. What did she see in Tom? How did she let Tom talk her into getting a loan in her name for ungrateful MIL and husband? I figured he was jobless. I wouldn't be surprised if he was cheating. Where's FIL in all this? Evil MIL wants to have "fun conversations" with her son. DIL should ship Tom's things to his mom's house. I'm glad DIL has a backbone. $2K? for a house renovation? In what country? I thought it was more like $20K. What does MIL mean she can't live like this? Why would she start over with Tom? She isn't going to make Tom pay anything. Wait! What? You can't use another person's house as collateral for a renovation loan on their house. Ofc, MIL lost her house. I guess she couldn't make Tom get a job after all. Mil should have gotten a job instead of relying on her precious son. Why didn't she call her precious daughter to help? I guess Tom didn't really care which way the wind blows.

  • @lindak8664

    She’s going to be in for a shock if she just stops paying the loan. Its in her name, she can’t just stop paying it or randomly switch it to someone else. Even trying to sue them for the value of the loan wouldn’t be a sure thing, she took it out voluntarily.
    Some of these stories need a little research to make sure they aren’t completely ridiculous.

Tom should've been paying his mother's.. why is her home renovation even someone else's responsibility? If she can't afford it, she shouldn't be getting it done.. she doesn't even see her as family, super disrespectful towards her.. I'm just flabbergasted.. she kept saying it's just a small amount.. if it's just a small amount why isn't SHE paying for her own home loan? 🙄.. I'm not understanding why this very grown man Tom not working? You have to work to eat, pay bills.. he's a grown arse man.. this is cause his ex wife allowed him to just stay at home and do nothing.. he's used to people taking care of him. Why would he work?

  • @Icyangel10
    @Icyangel10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I wonder what happened to the husband? Aside from the mention of him not having a job yet it only mentions what ex-MIL is doing in the after that.
    Given everything I’m guessing because he was likely living with his mom he got kicked out with her when they couldn’t pay. I get the feeling while the mom regrets her actions(since it means OP won’t pay for her shit anymore) she’s turned her behavior onto her son as he didn’t tell her the truth until it was too late & he should be working. He probably has to deal with his mom nagging him to get a job so they can have a place to stay.

    I lived with my husband family for 3 yrs and paid all my bills and house bills including a storage unit we all agreed to pay! They only payed me 2 times their share and mind you I am doing all of this part time job, until the last summer I was able to get a full-time position!I got into an argument with my FIL we always argued every summer living on the second floor apartment they refused to turn on the AC while there are 6 people living there Myself, Husband (thier son) my two small kids under 10yrs old and those 2 morons in laws as well as my dog a Husky, Husband cat and thier 2 pets! I would have to ask to turn on the AC because all the windows would be open! But having a husky in the Summer requires them to be kept cool! My FIL " called me a guest in the house" I fired back a guest they pay bills right? Stop acting important you just got on the lease because we will be leaving. My husband and I made it so we would never spend another summer in that apartment, We closed on our house in May and Officially moved out the following Month when school ended! Then the most ungrateful thing they did was not get thier stuff out of my storage unit, so I paid to get it out. ESSENTIALLY I PAID FOR 2 MOVES not a thank you. So I told my husband, them and his side of the family I will not come around until they pay me the cost of moving thier stuff out my storage unit! I haven't talked to them since and its wonderful!!

    I do not believe the MIL was ever "Sorry" the only thing she was sorry about was the fact she was not getting any more money. You can tell that is true straight away. The MIL's son is there yet, did the MIL force her son to go out and work? No. Therefore she was saying loud and clear I am not sorry and I done nothing wrong. It is very easy to say "Sorry" it is a lot harder to mean it. Although I did note a discrepancy. If the loan was in fact in Lisa's name then she could not simply stop paying it. Unless, once the divorce was finalized that was one of the things transferred to the ex's name. It does not say that and considering he was unemployed maybe that was one of his conditions instead of a monetary split.
