I had my hernia repaired 24 years ago I have been in pain every day since, the doctor told me “ you have to learn to live with it, if I operate again I will be admitting that the first operation was done incorrectly and I’m not prepared to do that.”
Had my hernia mesh surgery 6 years ago, in having severe pain and the surgeon confirmed the mesh is coming off from the top. Im scheduled for a 2nd surgery. The pain is intense especially in the seated position. I drive a forklift so i have to be seated.
I also had the mesh put in and has now failed and has become quite painful after three years and my doctor recommends surgery to remove and that requires me to be in recovery for at least two weeks. I’m really not looking forward to it but it’s gotten to the point of being too painful.
Lucky you. I have 3 large sheets of mesh in. Had 2 revision surgeries so far and can't find a surgeon who'll take it out. Hell, can't find a local dr who'll even treat me.
I had this mesh surgery in 2014 and have been in pain ever since. It seems like it's getting worse over time. I tried getting my medical records from the hospital, but they gave me the run around. Unfortunately, I think the statute of limitations is up.
I had revision surgery done. The Bard mesh had migrated stuck to my sperm cord and had to be directed off the cord with a robotic arm. The failed mesh also caused a new hernia that had to be repaired in conjunction with the old one. My nerve damage is so severe that I walk with a special cane and I am about to get a prescription for a wheelchair. I am permanently disabled and the pain is so bad everyday I fear long term the pain will be unbearable. Currently my testicle that the mesh migrated to is 3 times longer than the other one and I have appointments to see a neurologist, urologist, and may possibly lose the testicle. This is common for the Bard Perm fix Plug that I received. Any idea what a case like this is worth???
I've had mesh repair on abdominal hernia. The pain is still there like before the repair. The hernia seems to be gone but now have a hydrocele in testicle. I also have a old repair to a hydrocele on the other side. The old repair has started hurting and developed cyst. So I have pain in both testicles and abdomen and limited mobility due to the mesh. The urologist have refused to help me anymore. I don't know why they won't fix my testicles by removing cyst and repair the hydrocele. Maybe because of mesh in the way or because I've ran out of money. Please help
As a lawyer handling hernia mesh cases, I can only suggest seeking a second opinion for the repair surgery. If you have not hired a lawyer, you should seek one to recover compensation for your injuries.
