Matt, thank you very much for your excellent presentation and instruction on MEG. Excellent video! I am going to read more about this testing.

What types of injuries can be identified and can it determine when it occurred
    Trauma? Stroke? Decline? Thanks

The MEG can be used to detect epilepsy, Parkisons Disease, stroke, and trauma. The MEG can not pin point when the injury occurred.
      Thanks for watching.

I was assulted 2 years ago where my eyes were gouged by attacker and during that time i sustained a medial wall fracture which i just discovered a month ago. Since the aasault, I am having left eye pain and leads to back of my head, its still has not gone away, some triggers make it worst. Whats the best test i should go through to detect an issue?

I have dealt with Erie Insurance in the past. They are average in my dealings with them.

I only watched to 8.27 = so many questions! Especially: surely these 'waves' that may be picked up must vary depending on what we're thinking about & how we're feeling? And surely skull/bone etc must stop some - or can they really travel thru bone? Is this a joke?!
Real-life neuropsychological tests (challenges/tasks) are obviously a far better way of determining how the person functions after brain injury & in real life; I've been tested to destruction & despair so many times doing these, year after year = 16 years now since my brain injury (& other terrible injuries including my neck, throat & airway, eyes/vision - & more) but because of lies/neglect (NHS medics caused all my injuries here in the UK & covered-up after including faking my med records) I've been more injured loads of times - especially my very fragile neck & spine, & recently a further injury to my throat/airway/larynx from violent vomiting, still not right after over 3 months but docs don't care, they prefer to believe (as they made out at the start, knowing this was untrue) that I'm 'imagining' all my injuries - very very cruel. Neglect kills.

      Hi Jenny,
Magnetism is not affected by bone or blood tissues. The MEG is no joke. The Veterans Administration has been using the MEG to help veterans who suffered mtbi.
The problem with neuropsychological testing is the subjectivity of the test giver.
What tests are administered, whether the testing is done fairly. What distractions there are, etc.

      @@MattlawAttorney Hello. Thanks.
'In the written intro you keep saying 'brain cells' e.g. 'MEG identifies brain cells which are in the sleep mode even though we are awake' = it obviously doesn't detect every cell - only very general areas! Plus all of us have different brains with islands of excellence & areas we don't perform as well in - this must surely be reflected in what areas are 'awake' for any given task - you don't say whether people are given tasks to do while they're being scanned.
You wrote: 'Any brain cells operating at below 4 cycles per second are asleep, even though the patient is wide awake, this is how we know those brain cells are damaged' = this is silly unless instead of 'cells' you mean areas with probably many millions of neurones & synapses in? And which aren't necessarily 'asleep' but may not be highly activated at that time - & for that task - if (as above) people are given tasks+?
Yes: tests stuff, & what 'reward' we are offered if we manage to complete a task & what motivates us & why & how & when & if not why not e.g. the effort is so exhausting & stressful that we may prefer to drop goal/s - including for money or other desirable/necessary rewards - especially after brain injury, as I'm sure you know; our psychological make-up & habits etc pre-injury affect our effort & recovery - when we work very hard & recover well in many things then the defendant 'wins': less liability...
SPECT/PET scans used to be used, I think? Am I right that these used x-rays? Apparently I'm the only one who cannot believe that strong magnetism & MRI are (we are told) the only medical test/treatment that has no unwanted ('side') effects at all, causes no harms - oh yeah, that's what 'they' have said about so many things which oh, *surprise*, turned out to be very dangerous & harmful.
Hope you win lots of cases for your clients - real shame though that people have to try to do & then 'win' a legal case to get the best rehab & adaptations including housing and 'compensation' for our dreadful injuries & income after we've lost our jobs on top of losing (not lost, were stolen) our health & skills/abilities; these things should be an automatic right & easily accessible & fast for everyone. You know. But then you wouldn't have a job!
