@@tobiasgerster6143 Yeah, I'm always amazed when I'm listening to this concert. I've heard studio recordings that sounded much worse than the Wacken concert. And I've always been wondering how they managed to do it under live conditions. To me it sounds better than some studio albums of other bands. I've also been to a lot of live concerts of different bands, and sometimes the sound was really disappointing, with very loud drums, very quiet vocals, feedback noise, etc. So I really appreciate the work that went into the Wacken concert to make it sound that balanced.

Totally agree. Wacken performance has much better audio and video quality. My word for anything from the Wacken, 2013, concert is EPIC. We enjoyed your reaction and hope you will continue you NW journey. You will find each song unique from all others. We just subscribed and will join you with each song. Stay safe and enjoy the ride.
Not only the video and audio quality is better at Wacken '13, but the performance itself had grown into perfection by then. Floor sings amazingly well (off course), but if you listen really hard you can tell that she's slightly off pitch here every now and then and her control on the dynamics are also better at Wacken (could also be a matter of monitoring - in ears - and the volume produced on stage) and even rhythmically Floor does a better job at Wacken '13. Off course this is very relative. Wacken was 99.9% perfect and this would be 97.5%.
As a musician. To play with a backtrack for 3 minutes is nuts. You have to be on point the entire time. If you are off just slightly the audience will let you know all about it. To play with a backtrack for 10, 16, 20 minutes is insane. You should also do a reaction to this song at Wacken. To see the progression that a few months has for singer.
To be clear, from this show to Wacken 2013 version th-cam.com/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/w-d-xo.html was the progression for Floor Jansen performing with Nightwish. She previously performed with her old band Revamp and before that After Forever. For a showcase of her abilities before joining Nightwish, see Revamp Wild Card: th-cam.com/video/GpZMFALYeGc/w-d-xo.html (unfortunately this mix is missing pretty much all the bass but there doesn't seem to be any better live versions).
Agree. Great seeing her find the Nightwish version of herself that continues to wow us all. As others mention, by Wacken 2013, Floor sang it as she wanted to
Its amazing how much better Floor sings this song just a few months later in Wacken. For those of you who like this song please do yourself a favour and watch the 2013 Wacken version. Amazing. It is now my all time favourite song. :)
you got it 100% right... Nightwish music is an experience... and there is so much more waiting for you still! Tuomas (the keybordist) is the principle songwriter and lyricist, and he has an amazing gift for telling stories, conveying emotion, and a number of their songs are very personal. there is truly an army of NW fans out there, loyal to our kind, Tuomas... and now to our queen, Floor. Floor has an amazing voice, very full and rich with a great range and awesome breath control. They way she conveys Tuomas' stories, the emotion you feel of her... it's hard to describe in writing, but you'll see/hear it yourself if you continue to react to NW songs.
Obviously, but for people who don't listen to a lot metal with female vocalists Amy Lee is the only point of reference. The comparison is a bit cringe for those in the know, but it is made quite frequently.
@@gencoserpen1260 Yes they compare Amy Lee all the time to Floor. They have no understanding at all about being an entertainer. Or on the other hand a live performer. Don't get me wrong, i've seen Evanescence twice but it's in another ballpark as Nightwish. I have seen them about 6 times now. And counting.
@@richardlubes9208 indeed. While I have never seen Evanescence live I have watched plenty of their live recordings. I actually like Amy’s voice but I think her main issue is that her body can’t keep up with the amount of energy she spends on stage. At some point she gets tired and her breath control starts faltering. Sometimes she does get pitchy.
Since obviously, you have an appreciation for Phantom of the Opera, Floor Jansen did a fantastic cover of that song with Henk Poort on the Dutch tv show Beste Zangers. You should check it out!
Floor is in a league of her own. Amy Lee is a good singer but the Goddess of Metal and Empathy blows her out of the water. You have no idea what our 6f1 Goddess can do but if you gonna do more Nightwish, you will find out that every song is different.. Nice reaction.
I got lots of love for Amy Lee's voice, if you listen more you will realize Amy would kill to be as good as Floor. Floor Jansen is a woman that can seamlessly move between 5 or 6 octaves, a classically trained sprinto/dramatic soprano voice. She can hit and sustain over F6 for over 8 seconds, she seamlessly moves between head and chest voice, and oh did I mention she can also growl like a demon from hell when it is called for? Good reaction though, and you should really check Floor out more, and of course Nightwish greatest band in the world. She also covered Shallow and several other songs, mainstream songs, she slay them with little effort.
@@fernandaspinola9011 Floor is definitely NOT a coloratura soprano! Do you know what "coloratura" means? Floor has a strong and powerful voice and can sustain a note up to infinity, but she doesn't have the flexibility to sing coloraturas. Or do you have any example where she sings something like this? th-cam.com/video/cI5D7p95oLs/w-d-xo.html
What if I told you that Floor's so praised versitality in styles is nothing special? Sure, she is great, but she also has the luck to be the front singer of a famous band. So, unlike Tarja, she found herself in a feathered nest. But there are so many crossover musical singers of which most people never heard of that are versitile (THAT versitile) as well. @@Nikioko ahem, I think your love forTarja clouds your judgement because "feathered bed"? she was in other band before nightwish as well , and had been plenty enough recognized for it,while not assuccessful as Nightwish ofcourse but how many bands wasTarja in before Nightwish? andhow many other styles she made the effort study and showcase ?I mean Floor did study musical theater, worked some on her classical training and also rock studies, but as far i know Tarja only kept doing what she trained for ....operatic -classical singing, with taking far less risks to crossover on diferent tings while in Nightwish and vocaly speaking stayinginher comfort zone ...ohh excuse me ... "feathered bed" ibelieve was the metaphor. Amd dont get me wrong ilike Tarja's more pronounced and confident operatic style in some specific songs but can't argue about Floor's versatility which is based on a lot of experimentation and studying of diferent techiques and thus providing a much more flexible tool to Tuomas to compose for .
@@Nikioko It’s obvious that you don’t know Floor Jansen history. She wasn’t lucky to sing with Nightwish, she was asked. And before that she was with After Forever, and her own band Revamp. So much expression and emotion.... Plus she is easy to look at. Floor's vocals are in a league of their own!!! And she just beat cancer..... Praying works..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take care.
It's not easy to make that soothing moment in the middle of the song for a heavy metal public. It was written really well in this particular song and they clearly worked a lot on it. There's the blue lights, the orchestration, the build in and out, all to make a mood and an experience of it for the public. Many bands couldn't pull it off cause their public would be just there, impatient. But in this particular music and production it's one of the best parts of the song and the public goes along with it and loves it.
I’m still stunned about the fact that Floor just joined Nightwish a few months while doing this show and she just blends in perfectly. She’s the Valkyrie Goddess that brings this band to a higher level 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🔥🔥🔥💜🎆🎇🎸If you do a reaction to her performance on Wacken Open Air 2013 you will see Floor at her best💪🏻
You CANNOT compare EVANESCENCE with NIGHTWISH. FLOOR JANSEN is on another level up from Amy Lee in every way conceivable. This woman is a true living goddess in the flesh.
Be gentle. For some, Evanescence is their only frame of reference. I agree, Nightwish is by far a great band, but when Floor joined, they went to another level.
The more you listen to Floor and what she can do the more you will be amazed by her. She truly is extremely talented. She sings in multiple languages and in just about any style. If you are interested in exploring her talent you should check out her own youtube channel!

Only two months with the band, joined mid tour, this song was not on the set list as previous singer couldn't sing it but Floor made it her own. Best version Wacken 2013 when she had been with band ten months !! Yes Evanscence is but a pale shadow compared to Floor Jansen and Nightwish By the way Floor has her own TH-cam site where she she covers other singers' songs and does vocal coaching
If you're gonna play a piece of the Phantom....why not use the Nightwish version? They have an awesome Phantom arrangement on their End of an Era show (The recording was the final show of their first singer Tarja) Also you can really tell how good a singer Marko is in that recording.

Fantastic reaction! Welcome to this journey! Floor does indeed do a version of Phantom of the Opera. Look for the show Beste Zangers on youtube. That's where she really shines! Nightwish has been my favorite band since 1997. Enjoy! :)
This video will stick in our minds forever. It is so well done. And I cannot say too much about Floor. She is so special. The final section Floor builds it up to a climax. And you played it again -THANK YOU...... Plus Floor just beat cancer......
Floor reacted to her singing on this song during her own TH-cam channel: Floor Jansen. She was giving her analysis on section of this song especially the ending. Floor stated ending was improvised during sound check prior to concert at other venue, Wacken. Everyone loved the improvising. So, she kept it.
Drummer, Jukka stopped touring with the band, but he works day to day operations for the band. His replacement is Kai Hahto. Sadly, longtime bassist, Marko retired from the band and touring early this year.
The floor Jansen effect is so strong that even she was not immune to her own self hitting that last note. I think she tried to hide it but she definitely looked giddy and deservedly so.
Just found you so I subscribed and will follow. I am a Nightwish Connoisseur; I LOVE their music. As you said, Ghost Love Score is different than what you have listened to in the past. They use the term "Symphonic Metal" which suits them well. Enjoyed your interpretation and comments. God Bless
One of the most glorious things about the wacken concert is seeing 82,000 + people in the palm of Floors hand punching the air.... Her mastery of this song is evident and her final notes at the end are.... Stunning, well worth listening to as a comparison to this BA version.
It's great you underlined the interlude! Since you mentioned "The Phantom of the Opera" you should definitely react to the Nightwish rendition of The Phantom. To me it is the best version of all. With Tarja Turunen, the original female vocalist of Nightwish as Christine and Marko Hietala, the bassist/vocalist as Eric/the Phantom. They will both surprise you with their vocals! Great stuff! Greetings from Helsinki Finland! (Many say GLS Wacken 2013 version is better than this BA 2012 version, but they are both amazing. In BA Floor had been with Nightwish for only 2,5 months, in Wacken 10 months. It's nice to see how good she was already at this point.)
This video is great for the crowd reaction (chorusing, shouting her name when they never heard of her before!) and the great closeups on Floor and Emmpu. I like the somewhat rockier less controlled sound of the finale here, and the lower tone of the second verse, even if Wacken 2013 is technically better. The wondrous facts that she is sick and has only been with the band 2 months here also make this more of an achievement. She only in this performance nailed the finale she had been ad libbing to then.
oh, you're gonna love it, since Nightwish has one of the best renditions of the Phantom of the Opera (with their first singer, Tarja )...and also, Floor Jansen (Nightwish's current female vocalist) has an amazing Phantom of the Opera duet
Welcome in the Nightwish family. Your meaning .with the Phantom of the Opera. Nightwish do a Cover. And Floor with Henk Poort, the original dutch Phantom. Great reaction. Greetings from northern germany

Just saying, this performance was right around 3 months after Floor recovered from her burnout -- which makes this performance so good. Because you not only hear, but you _feel,_ the emotion she projects in this performance, especially at the end. Still gives me goosebumps, and holds me in awe, of how much energy she gave at the end.
Fact: if she (the reactor) wasn’t SO beautiful, I would pass this video in the first 0:40 seconds, even if I’m a Nightwish fan and adore Floor Jansen, my goddess.

@@mariodriessen9740 👍
@@mariodriessen9740 THIS
Sure, Wacken's the one but if you're hearing “Ghost Love Score” for the first time does it really matter? It's not like there are “bad” performances.
@@MikkoRantalainen mix is lacking. See Wacken 2013, it sounds better. That said, this audience makes me want to be THERE.
They have a click track in their ears.
you got it 100% right...
Welcome to the Nightwish Army!!!!!! YOU WERE NOT READY FOR THE NOTE!!!!!!!!
The solo is so simple, just playing the theme basically. But he is playing it with great feeling and sound. It fits very in well the song.
Amy Lee and Floor Jansen similar voice? Really??? Amy Lee has a good recorded voice but Floor's lives are always perfect. She is the perfection.
Obviously, but for people who don't listen to a lot metal with female vocalists Amy Lee is the only point of reference. The comparison is a bit cringe for those in the know, but it is made quite frequently.
@@gencoserpen1260
Yes they compare Amy Lee all the time to Floor.
@@richardlubes9208Why are you so upset by this? Who cares.
They sound nothing alike.
Since obviously, you have an appreciation for Phantom of the Opera, Floor Jansen did a fantastic cover of that song with Henk Poort on the Dutch tv show Beste Zangers. You should check it out!
Or much better the Nightwish version from End of an Era. Tarja and Marco duet can't be better 😉
@@andresweiland3714 I agree. I do love Floor's version.. But Tarja does take it a step further and hits those super high notes ultimately.
Next Nightwish/Floor *Storytime* Wacken 2013 concert Live . And/or Nightwish/Tarja/Marko *Phantom of the Opera* .. Stay safe.
"Floor Jansen & Henk Poort - Phantom Of The Opera | Beste Zangers 2019" is also absolutely magic but yes, Tarja and Marko together were amazing too
Floor is in a league of her own.
Floor is a dramatic coloratura soprano, her voice is not too dark and heavy as spinto sopranos .
Example?

I respect and admire Tarja, but Floor is where she is because of hard work and dedication not because any feathered nest She brought her own feathers to build that nest.

There's Nightwish on the channel we subscribe and follow 😉😬
Please keep going with Gabriel's roadmap.
Thank you for doing this! I was one of the people asking for it. I did, however, request the Wachen version and linked it for you. This version is good, but Wachen is magical! Check it out in your spare time! :)
by this concert the singer Floor was only 2 months in the band
The Wacken version is better. Epic concert there.
Great song.
damn true
Agreed... Wacken version is more better then this.
I thought just the same !!!! And the other guy is right the phantom of the opera with Tarja is a must !!!!!!!
para nada esta performance es mucho mejor de floor solo q wacked tiene mejor calidad de sonido y video
Wacken version isn't better, it's the best! 😄
Wow, that's a first for me. First time commenting before Gabriel 😉
Sorry, I was sleeping :) left the welcome message at about 4am CET.
She's talking about a purple guitar... I suspect she spotted the legendary EV-1
Tank - is that you? :D
Hell-o beautiful blue eyed lady. We are going to have fun with this one. The drummer is beating those things like they owe him money!!! And Floor is heavenly and she is such a good singer..!!! So much expression and emotion.... Plus she is easy to look at. Floor's vocals are in a league of their own!!! And she just beat cancer..... Praying works..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take care.
Nightwish Army Texas Division reporting in!
Right, so agree. Evanescence is not much compared to Nightwish.
YES! I see it because I can sing evanescence, but if I try to sing nightwish.... no can do :D
Exactly the first thing I was thinking...
Be gentle. For some, Evanescence is their only frame of reference. I agree, Nightwish is by far a great band, but when Floor joined, they went to another level.

💕This Band - welcome to a awesome journey with Nightwish ☺☺
It's an amazing coincidence! I downloaded that song yesterday! I'm a big fan of Within Temptation but I like just two songs from this band (Nightwish): The islander and this one Ghost love Score. Great reaction! You are beautiful!
Great reaction! Also a part of the Nightwish Army! Hope you do more Nightwish songs, this band is amazing and no song is truly like another, the band keeps you in suspense all the time! The Singer here is named Floor, and she is the third singer this band has ever had, all three singers deserve a song review! You mentioned Phantom of the Opera in this video, and Nightwish had a cover of this song! With the original singer Tarja, who is more classical Opera trained. Anyway I’m sure I’m not the first fan to give you all this info. Gabriel has probably already commented, and please go by his recommendations, and read his bio of the band! Can’t wait for more! You have earned my subscription so far! Keep it up, and I see you next time!
Comparing Evanescence with Nightwish is like comparing apples with strawberries, no way possible ✅.
Many people complaining you should have done the Wacken version.
I don't. It is great, of course, but it is also reacted to several times a week, so to me it's just refreshing to see something else for a change.
I strongly suggest you check the reaction by The Charismatic Voice from this same version (if you haven't checked it yet). Actually, every Nightwish reaction on that channel is a true delight.
I think this version is the best... This took the Nightwish fans by storm, and convinced everybody (well almost...) that Floor was the best choice for the band. You only have to look at the big smiles of the band.
Gabriel will be along soon to give you the list, Funny you should mention "Phantom of the opera" The vocalists name is Floor Jansen, check out a show called Beste Zangers where she does "Phantom of the Opera"

Nightwish Army Virginia Regiment reporting. Great reaction. You have only just “experienced” the very tip top of the iceberg. This band is spectacularly amazing. I hope you continue with Nightwish. Follow Gabriel’s recommendations. I look forward to joining you in your journey. 🤘
And to think she was sick back thenand still made it this spectacular. On Wacken she was in condition and even more spectacular.
Because I had no idea that they have a version of the Phantom. I showed the clip, because I thought the parts were similar. This was my first time listening to Nightwish, I did not listen to other songs, yet.
@@thegoldschoolsoul Then that settles that XD! Check out their rendition of Phantom of the Opera. I'm probably the only one here, but I never really liked Nightwish' version of the Phantom.
Floor's version with Henk Poort is closer to the original, but imho also better.
A, what the hell do I care?!?! Sorry guys! 😄
Nightwish The Phantom Of The Opera is so good and deserves to be commented on

Thank you for the nice reaction video.

Compared to her other performances of this song. It sounded like she struggled with it. Almost like she was trying to imitate Tarja instead of being herself.
@@ObimSol I don't think Floor has ever tried to imitate Tarja, she doesn't need it. The end of GLS has changed trough the years.
It was EXTREMELY hot at this concert. Security and even Tuomas (the keyboard player) passed out water to fans.

Fantastic reaction! Welcome to this journey! Floor does indeed do a version of Phantom of the Opera. Look for the show Beste Zangers on youtube. That's where she really shines! Nightwish has been my favorite band since 1997. Enjoy! :)
nightwish rocks, pure symphonic metal and I gotta say you are so pretty!
OMG!!!
I just fell in love.
You must to be an angel.
This video will stick in our minds forever. It is so well done. And I cannot say too much about Floor. She is so special. The final section Floor builds it up to a climax. And you played it again -THANK YOU...... Plus Floor just beat cancer......

Yet she found the pre-recorded intermezzo the most impressive part...

Well, now we have to watch Nightwish's Phantom of the Opera with Tarja! Amazing piece!
Just found you so I subscribed and will follow. I am a Nightwish Connoisseur; I LOVE their music. As you said, Ghost Love Score is different than what you have listened to in the past. They use the term "Symphonic Metal" which suits them well. Enjoyed your interpretation and comments. God Bless

Checkout "Ghost Love Score" "Ever dream" & "Song of myself" live at wacken 2013. Also "The Poet & the Pendulum" live at wembley 2016.

Once you hear Nightwish with Tarja and Marco singing Phantom of the Opera you will never go back to the regular versions.
I recommend you beste zangers 2019 Floor and Henk do phantom will blow your mind

Luv your reactions. Just hearing you clicking in with your hh's and seeing you is a thumbs up for me.
Nightwish should remove the "official live" tag from this video to keep you new reactors away from this and into the Wacken 2013 version! Haha :)
Great reaction though! You should watch Storytime from Wacken and The Poet And The Pendulum from Wembley
Hopefully there will be other nightwish video reactions 🙃👋🏻❤️
Floor was sick during this concert. The fact that she even was able to be there is a testament to her professionalism.

I don't think it was this one... this is Buenos Aires 2012(Showtime/Storytime DVD bonuses), not the Decades Tour
Storytime live from Wacken 2013. 😊❤🤘🤘
