On your fun fact: Here in Canada, I worked in a cemetery. We had a few plots dedicated to the poor. homeless, people with no family. They were all cremated, placed in boxes and stacked into one of those concrete coffin liners bins in the plot. So that if family does somehow show up, they can be dug up and the box taken out for them.

You two seriously need to find a way to get a series going on one of the streaming services. I literally just learned more here, watching your videos, than I would ever have from any doctor. You guys are one of the few channels where I actually learn something useful, even if it is 200 years old. @@mandabean.2405definitely but as someone with both Lyme disease ands gut issues they can be connected, gut issues have to have been caused by something and usually is multiple things over times. Antibiotics, mold, Lyme disease etc all contribute. My ANA test came back high but with functional medicine testing I found mold colonized in my gut (lived in a home with mold for a long time) that also messed up my gut too.

Justine, so happy to hear you are continuing to rule out and explore your positive ANA testing. Both myself and my granddaughter have an autoimmune disease. Mine is RA and hers is Lupus. Everyone is so different that it really takes a trained specialist to figure out how to put you in remission( lower ANA) where your symptoms are alleviated. It’s also very common to have days or a string of days where you feel crappy and one day where you feel fine. So many of us can determine over time what things may trigger a flare, but sometimes you just don’t know. Like for me weather barometer rising and lowering significantly can affect how I feel or even trigger a migraine. Sugar can trigger swelling for me. For my granddaughter she is triggered by lots of stress. I hope you figure out what is going on so you and your doctor can find a good treatment to put you in remission. Good luck!!!

If you don't find anything autoimmune make sure they treat all your hormones, esp cortisol. That needs to be an 8am test. It's one of the ones that pointed the way for me.

Justine, one thing you may consider looking into is what’s called the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol. It’s a temporary elimination diet that we in our own house (autoimmune) saw amazingly wonderful health results from. Aka remission in 1 month with no signs of active inflammation and that has continued for 8 years so far. It may be a place to start, and if nothing else, something to try for a while to see what happens.

Guineas are awesome for tick control if you want to add that to your homestead flock 😊 for tick bites, or any other bug bites/stings for the matter, it's good to have a paste of bentonite clay on the ready (bentonite clay and water mixed together. Just make sure no metal comes in contact with the clay. Glass, plastic or wood is fine). Put some of that on the bite and let it dry out. It will pull out anything the bug may have left behind lol it works very well! I have a jar with the mixture in my medicine cabinet on the ready.

I am one of the ones who suggested testing for Long Term Lyme Disease and I am very happy you’re getting the test. In addition to Long Term Lyme, which is treatable, I have Polymyalgia Rheumatica (autoimmune) with an underlying Rheumatoid Arthritis (autoimmune). None have a cure but All have treatments, and the Lyme must be treated first, and are very manageable for the most part with medication. I’m in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida (Tarpon Springs), and after two hurricanes in two weeks, I have not surprisingly flared. The good news is that (a) I pretty much knew the stress of a hurricane evacuation was going to make my body flare and (b) because over time I learned my personal triggers (stress is a big one, another is barometric weather changes) I could get on the meds asap to keep the flare as low as possible. Some days are horrible and some a great, I guess that’s the nature of autoimmune diseases. I wish you the best of luck finding answers, it is such a long road to narrow down an autoimmune disease and get the meds right, but I’m 60 and can tell you it is possible to live with one (or two in my case LOL).

My grand father died of lead poisoning. He was a printer (the old fashion lead letters, if you know what I mean). He also was a smoker, and I'm pretty sure he did not wash his hands before lighting up, and picking up his letters right in the process. A story about lead poisoning: Back in 2014, we bought our circa 1823 house and started renovations. I was removing lots of lead paint right away (heat gun, sanding), I KNEW it was lead paint, and thought I was protecting myself well enough. I got sick quickly and over the next three years was in horrible pain almost constantly, but the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong (and I didn't think it was the lead paint). Our cats threw up quite frequently, and then after about 3 years, one of the cats snuck into a room I was working on that I had sealed off. She walked around in the lead paint dust on the floor, and promptly got extremely sick to the point of near death (she lost so much weight so fast it was super scary!). But even though she did that, the vet and I didn't make that connection, until one day I had a lightbulb moment and asked the vet for a lead test on her. They had to send it to Cornell, it cost $80 for that test, and it came back with numbers THROUGH the ROOF! She got chelation therapy meds which were very hard to procure, and she is a healthy happy cat now! This prompted me to get tested for lead, and my finger prick was 48.6, the highest they had ever seen at my doctor's office! The blood test came back at 28.5 (compared to Justine's 2), and that FINALLY answered why I had been so incredibly sick for those 3 years! I developed an atypical kidney stone from it and had surgery which helped alleviate most of the worst of the abdominal pain I had.
So YES, adults CAN have lead poisoning, and it is NOT pleasant! Even levels UNDER 10 can cause mild side effects, such as mineral and vitamin depletion, and there are permanent side effects. These days I have to be extremely diligent about taking my vitamins, minerals, and Vitamin D, I get a lot of migraines, plus I have other ongoing medical issues as a result that I'm dealing with.
Anyone reading this with medical problems, check out the Mayo Clinic website with the list of lead poisoning symptoms for adults. Get tested, if only to rule it out, and insist on getting tested, especially if they are not figuring out what is wrong with you right away. If I had gotten tested as soon as I started getting sick, I would have been able to save 3 years of my life that was absolute torture!

I'm sure a bunch of people commented this but lead tastes super sweet, so the lead paint chips taste really good actually haha so kids just start eating them like crazy without realizing it. Some ancient drinks were actually sweetened with lead which is insane and clearly died out in popularity lol.

Most interesting. I also thought the cookies resembled English Muffins at a glance. It’s never a dull moment with these recipes, it seems.
Best of luck, Justine, on the food allergy tests and any others they can provide. Glad you did not ingest large levels of lead and that today was a good day for you.
I know what it feels like to constantly wait for an independent contractor who communicate poorly. Relieved that he hasn’t yet been paid. Usually, that type of person will return when they need the money or no longer have other contracts going on at the same time.
Last but not least, I found the mass grave info to be interestingly intriguing. Perfect true story as we ease into Halloween. 👍 Speaking of which……..I’m looking forward to the turnip carving and your costumes. Take care. 👍😍

The cookies do look like English muffins. I bet they would be good if you made breakfast sandwiches. Fry up some egg, sausage with cheese. That sounds delicious right now. Lol!

LOL you guys make me laugh with those cookies I can guarantee you that was obviously a poor man's cookie or a peasant recipe but it does do the job it keeps people's belly's full a little bit of tea or coffee and one or two cookies goes a long way I would say that's the reason why it is what it is and maybe people put jam on top of it you never know❤

I wonder if this recipe was because of the scarcity of some ingredients of the time. that would be my first thought. Oh Justine, I will be praying for good results from your tests. bless your heart.

So crazy. I just watched the last video and suggested a test for metal poisoning based on your use of antique cookware. Glad you got the test. Happy it's not too bad. Wonder if a particularly sensitive person could have symptoms at a level 2.

I keep saying 1/2 Chobani, extra creamy, oat milk and half vanilla almond milk with a little sweetener and it’s delicious! With no gas!
