I love the way the commentators calls his last name right before he strikes the ball both in game and in real life. Higuaaaaaaiiiiiin! Also he should have taken the Arsenal transfer after leaving Real Madrid. Wenger wanted to sign him along with Özil and experiment on his finishing ability. There is a high chance he would have become even more ruthless in front of goal which would benefit Argentina greatly in World Cups.

Higuain thrived in Napoli because of the kind of football they play. He's a classic striker who needs the whole team working for him and A LOT of assists to score a goal. From 2010 - 2013 I watched every Real Madrid game and the amount of chances Higuain missed while basically camping in the box drove me crazy.
Of course he scored many goals but he also got a ton of assists by some of the best midfielders in the world while doing absolutely no work against the ball and completely disappear in important games. In his seven seasons in Madrid he faced Barcelona in 19 times on the pitch, but only scored three (unimportant) goals and zero assists. In his first 19 games against Barcelona Karim Benzema scored 6 goals and contributed 6 assists. And when Higuain thrived in Napoli, Benzema thrived in Real Madrid, helping his team to three consecutive CL titles and leading it in an almost unhuman manner to victory in 21/22.

And yet they all step on it again and again. Did he intentionally fail to score? Maybe there was a reason for everything. Maybe higuain was important to Messi's story to really deserve this World Cup title. In 2014, it would have been said that Messi did not lead his team to the World Cup title. Not like Maradona in 1986. It all makes sense. It's very tragic for higuain that he didn't become world champion, but he still had a great career and his family will tell him every day what a valuable person he is.
