The fact that Brian had to explain to chat that a HIGH LEVEL WORLD CLASS PLAYER (Tokido) knows how to play the game and the character, and that he just choked in a miscalculated scenario to people in chat is incredible... How can someone think Tokido doesn't know how to play a series that he plays before I was even born?
Hey man you tried, that’s most than most people. Hope you got far! And if you didn’t then I hope you use it as opportunity to grow and come back as a stronger player!
At 9:43 is this just me or is it insane that Luke gets access to this much damage from a perfect parry combo for 0 cost. Maybe theres other characters that do the same but I dunno 🤷
i think aki gets a similar chunk + poison applied. she’s kinda defined by her high damage though whereas luke is defined by being good at everything, it seems
@@kynlem not meterless. A lot of poison pops usually involves a neutral drive rush follow up. She doesn't get the same damage as Luke but at the cost of meter she does get better corner carry and oki. I don't think there's any meterless combo that can compete with Luke's perfect Knuckle bnb.
Daigo (this time coached by Ono himself) will sweep the LCQ, proceed to destroy everyone at Capcom Cup, and bridge the ChatGPT prophecy for the previous Capcom Cup and the CPU prophecy for the Japan CPT. Just you wait!
I’ve finally come back to this game after taking a few months off for school, and I’ve been trying to improve my mindset and seeing if my decision making and gameplay will improve in return. Videos like this that break down small, impactful moments has been really helping me get better. Thanks Brian, I know my previous comments on videos weren’t the best
I also think it’s terrifying to fight against Zangief. Sure, he’s not great but you only have to make 3 mistakes against even the worst Classic control Zangief player and you’re dead.
zangief is good. easily highish-mid tier imo. if he had better anti airs (sa1 bigger grab box and crossup lariat and then he becomes A tier easily.) zangief is way better than jamie. I play zangief. hes way stronger than his sf5 version. zangiefs light spd having so much range (frame5 still). gives a lot of people problems. and jumping isn't as prevalent in sf6 compared to earlier titles. command grabs are threatening in sf6 this is why im confused why as to people consider grapplers to be weak. manon is underrated. in the beginning a lot of people called her top tier. Like how some grapplers were really strong in sf5. however some people consider her bottom 1-3. people like menard calls bullshit and says shes probably the strongest grappler. she has a good anti air lol but probably one of the worst drive rushes. idom and sticky fingers were both top 6 at ceo. it was definitely early sf6, however idom is still showing good results on her.
@@XenonAgenT01the problem with tier listing characters in street fighter has always been the sample size. Realistically the players that are "top level" probably number less than like 50. So is difficult to tier characters objectively based on their strength when results from tournaments are very often completely player skill based and independent from the char choice. Like really good players can win with really bad characters, but then if that's the case how can you even objectively evaluate the strength of the character.
@@DioDCynic that's the thing though. Nobody is "carried" at a high level tournament, literally everyone notable there could have made it with a "lesser" character. That's the main problem with tier list. Who is the list for? If you want to say lists are for the general player base then you shouldn't be basing it off of tournament results because the game tournament players are playing are very different to the game your average plat, diamond or even most master players are playing. But then if you are saying the list is intended for high level play only then I would argue there is no way you can make an objective statement about how strong a character is at the highest level as the sample size is too small.
I would confidently make the statement that in a year or two, Marisa will be an incredibly strong character as all her weird target combos and such will find uses against the expanding cast and changes over the seasons. She just has too much damage and the potential for so many tools.
This is why I agree with Capcom's decision not to balance before a year. And I have a feeling they're not going to change much. Mostly everyone overestimates their ability to assess balance. "Kimberly is going to be a problem" and "Manon os top 5" were things said during the first few weeks by respected people.
@@duxnihilo the character balance is ACTUALLY good compared to all the other street fighters. all these downplayers while ryu and gief are both in the cup. jamie is mostly the character that needs some love. the rest are fine. even manon gief lily are all rightfully threatening i still play sf3 and nothing is more unfair than yun geneijin SA3 or chun SA2 still. (whiff buttons for meter into super art playstyle is the meta) sf6 really just needs to fix the drop inputs on drive rush freeze frames and its nearly perfect. however fixing the drive rush frames is a lot more complicated than we think or they wouldve done so by now. typically right now you need to use button first to interrupt drive rush. if you do super immediately, you need to mash.
@@XenonAgenT01 I agree with everything you said except one thing: There's been extensive testing done to this drive rush eating input thing and it doesn't seem to happen. The most likely explanation is that people are inputting things too early.
