Except for the cartoons you'd think this was a show for adults! No pandering or excessive juvenile nonsense. Kids could use a real show like this now. Sadly this kind of children's television is long gone. Ray was on all throughout my childhood. Thanks for this upload. It took me back! 😊
I enjoyed Ray Rayner and chalveston the duck when I was a young boy thank you for this wonderful video I am 62 years old with a wonderful career miss you Ray and chalveston
Lol! Loved the close up of the scrubby rose while he was singing. Then he starts cracking up! I wonder if kids could sit through this today? We loved it!
The episode where Ray tried to duplicate a spider in the center of an orb web made entirely from black yarn and glue, will resonate in my memory forever ! Thank you Ray Rayner for being you and letting us kids enjoy the ride.
I want to see the episode where he tried to make a project that looked like a mounted fish and it was made of beer pull tabs. He kept cutting his thumbs and stopped the project.

He was the greatest entertainment for kids back in the old days of WGN!!!
I got ready for school with Ray every day. What a wonderful memory. Miss you Ray, Chauncy, Chelveston and Cuddley Dudley
WGN had the Best Shows for Kids, the Kids these days have sure missed out !
Ever since they got rid of bozo and Saturday morning cartoons that started the downward spiral
Ray's announcements were the main way we found out if school was canceled on "snow days".
Only way we even knew if school was open for... any reason
Shoe shine and a hanger on a stick. Quality tv! I had a fantastic childhood.
Ray's craft segments went south more often than not.
You're correct, it used to crack me up how he handled his failed endeavors by making Fun of himself, he was Great !

Like the guy in the background when he says “I’m shining my shoes”. Total Chicago accent overbydere.
