Hope all is well, traveled to St Petersburg years ago. The people in Russia were so kind, happy Americans were visiting. I received lots of hugs. Our countries should be friends.

Then you are naive! I remember that from the GDR, many voted against the system or Honecker and still only one party won....with almost 99%. It's no different in Russia!
Elections are useless if there is no basis for free elections or even democracy.

It's nice and good to see everything is peaceful. Our media can misguide us to imagine the worse. I wish peace and love for all living people and creatures alike
They didn't misguide you. The conflict was mainly in Rostov on Don. It never reached Moscow, even though that was the original plan. Russia is a huge country, so most of it was unaffected.
I was wondering also after hearing the news...I am so impressed that you are walking around at dusk and everything looks very quiet and safe! Take care and keep us updated!
