Great reaction, glad you have found these, you won’t be disappointed if you continue the journey, I also recommend anesthetize live from Tilburg, 17 mins of brilliance! Lots of great tracks from these guys.. keep rocking friend 😁👍
So glad to see you finally listening to PT! Arriving Somewhere but not Here is one of my favourites from them, it's like being in a trance, a journey. The ticks and tocks from the clock in the beginning of the song prepare you for something and at the end when they return makes this closure to this whole experience that you've been throughout this masterpiece of a song, and always leave in awe, absolutely love it!! edit: like the others said in the comments and myself included in another video, you should 100% check out Anesthetize!!
Yeah dude this track was amazing! I was enthralled then entire time, almost like being in a trance like you said. I am definitely doing that track next! Can’t wait. Thanks for watching bro!
Yayyyy you finally did this! I think I might have been the one who requested it originally xD the vibe of this whole concert is just great. I hope you continue down the path of PT.
Mikeal Akerfeldt and Steven Wilson are good friends. Porcupine Tree was already a little bigger then Opeth in the late 90s (not really big though). Steven Wilson is not really a metalhead, PPT is more psychedlic/progressive rock. Steven Wilson heard "Still life" when it came out, contacted Mikeal Akerfeldt (who was already kind of a fan of him) and asked him to produce the next Album - which became "Blackwater Park". They worked together a couple of times after this, for example on the Album version of this Song the backing vocals are done by Mikael Akerfeldt. Other recommendations: - The start of something beautiful - Lazarus (Ballad) Those are off of the same album as this Song. On their record after that they have a 17-minute Song called "Anesthetize", the live version of that is pretty amazing aswell (i think its live in tilburg, not sure). Dont forget to continue with Opeth, though =) I have 1-2 other, lesser known artists in a lttle bit different genres that I would love you to check out: Vektor - Recharging the Void (Progressive thrash) Cult of Luna - Cygnus feat. Julie Christmas (Post Metal) Do you have a Patreon or something to leave a small tip to get those done? (not earning too much yet so it would really be just a small tip)
That is such a cool story to hear. And look what came out of that partnership, a crazy ass album! 😂😂 I will definitely take a look at those, but if you want to leave a donation or a tip to get em done ASAP my PayPal/cash app/buymeacoffee is in the video description. Thank you so much! ❤️
@@L33Reacts Its done :) got you 2 bucks for each request =) dont be in a rush, I just would be happy to see those over the next couple weeks. Just keep doin what you are doing, Opeth and PPT are some of my favourite bands
@@L33Reacts for a really great live performance cue up ‘Hatesong’ from park west Chicago 2005. Gavin Harrison the bands drummer is off the chart ( and not in a muppet animal way just pure skill and feel)
Thank you so much my friend I really appreciate it. I have been down the rabbit hole since this first PT video… and I have fallen in love. You are in for a treat!
This was the first song by PT I ever heard in 2017 which made me an instant fan, and now it is my fav. band ❤️. It always makes me happy to see others discover them as well, because imho they should be more known, because they have sooo many great songs, but to name af few of my personal favorits.: “Anesthetize” (live), “Sleep together” (live) and “Time Flies” (album version) Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Standing on the edge of a very deep hole that is Porcupine Tree, a vast catalogue to sift through as they started in 1987. The music is as fresh today as it was when they recorded it as I never tire of hearing them. Gavin Harrison on drums is a legend and also in The Pineapple Thief and King Crimson. This band got me interested in Opeth and TOOL both started in 1990. Steven Wilson and Pineapple Thief front man Bruce Soord have a promotion channel called KSCOPE and there you can find similar music to this.
They started in 87?! Holy shit dude that’s crazy. I guess they are the oldest band I’ve done on the channel now 😂 other then megadeth. I’m very interested in diving into their catalogue because this blew me away! Thank you for the tip, I’ll check it out. 🙌🙌
Great reaction, if you continue reacting to PT you will triple your subs in no time mate, I always say 'the best band you have never heard of' amazing group...
My suggestions are Anesthetize - Live in Tilburg next. Then Hatesong live in Chicago. Both blew me away and highlight the band's musicianship and stage performance more than any other, in my opinion.
@@L33Reacts No problem! The Anesthetize live video in HD is actually hosted on the Porcupine Tree official channel so that would probably be the best one to go with. Not sure about Hatesong but there are definitely high quality ones out there.
Nice video, love this band, only discovered them last year and I don't know how I missed them cause they been around for a while.... Definately check out," Anesthetize" or "Fear of a blank planet" next. 🤟
See, I told you they were good, ha! For some reason they can make me so emotional sometimes. Anesthetize is another awesome live performance but it's 16 minutes long!
@@L33Reacts Watched a few of your other vids just been busy so I didn't leave comments love Opeth though. I had to have some heart tests done and my daughter had medical appointments too and then she had her birthday last week. #35 but with her autism she is still like 6 years old mentally and developmentally. So she got lots of toy dinosaurs and a 400 page dinosaur encyclopedia ha for her bday as she is currently all about dinosaurs. I also got a new cat almost 3 weeks ago and my resident cat Piper did NOT like the new girl, Fancy, so it was several days of keeping Fancy in the spare bedroom and both cats hissing and growling and slapping at each other under the door, sigh. Followed by opening the door long enough to let them see each other, then feeding them with the door open but their dishes at least 6 feet apart, just gradually getting them used to each other's scents and so on. It takes more time with cats than introducing dogs to each other, ha. Then I let Fancy have free access to all of the house while Piper stalked her and growled at her and they had a couple spats yowling and slapping ugh. But this morning I got up and both were snuggled side by side on the rug actually touching each other and chilling together so I was like YES!! Ha. Fancy still has no love for my 2 dogs but the dogs have been good to give her her space so they just kinda leave each other alone. But my cat Piper grew up from a tiny kitten with both dogs so she wrestles and plays with them and loves the dogs. Fancy is about 2 and Piper is almost 2 now. So they can hopefully grow old together and be cat sisters ha.

I requested the live version because they are amazing live and because I wanted him to see the band members doing their thing. Thanks so much for getting to this one!
So happy you liked this so much. You might just have potential to be as big a prog fan as a metal head... Åkerfeldt is doing straight up prog (very heavy and groovy at times but not any extreme metal) theese days and has been listening mainly to 60'-70's music practically all his adulthood 😊 (He's a vinyl nerd with thousands and thousands of albums) How do I donate?
