A couple of fun facts... Dennis wrote this song for the movie The Big Easy. It was done around this same year. Dennis shared a band with Bonnie at the time. His band was called The Eclectics. I used to go to rehearsals with them and Bonnie would get off stage and Dennis would get on. Bonnie lived with Dennis at the time Nick of Time came out. They were just friends, nothing else. She is really sexy and gives off an incredible vibe. I was just 10 years old back then, but I used to go to the bars and clubs where Dennis would get up with the Neville brothers and other bands and play until the wee hours of the morning. It was an awesome, crazy time back then. Bonnie and Dennis are still friends today although they don't see much of each other because of schedules etc. Dennis is actually a great songwriter and just released a new album. Peace!
Buddy Quaid holy crap! I’m so intrigued! It sounds like you’ve had a great life if that’s what you experienced at that young of an age! I’d love to hear the stories you have to tell!
My late husband loved to dance. This was our favorite dance tune. Oh so romantic. Most men do not like to dance. Mine did and there was nothing like his arms wrapped tightly around me. Boy that sax, it does things to you.
This is a great song. Louisiana definitely had an impact on Dennis while he filmed The Big Easy. New Orleans is like a flawed yet beautiful jewel to those who love it.
I'm from UK but have travelled extensively in US. NOLA is special and gets in your blood..Yes it's seriously flawed but you'd forgive it anything for it's spirit.
Beautiful song, I like Dennis's voice, this was recorded live at the Storyville Jazz Hall, New Orleans, LA 1989. Dennis Quaid , Bonnie Raitt, the legendary Neville Brothers with Aaron Neville and Greg Allman performed before a live audience.
OMG!!! What a song!!! It gives me the chills!! I love Bonnie Raitt . I saw her with little feat in the 70's and that's still the best concert that I have ever been to! They rocked the house down!!
Top performance by everyone, but aaron neville put the cherry on top of this cake with his" out of this world" voice. Absolutely fantabulous. Oh aaron baby... What you do to me.......shivers. Bonnie raitt....fantastic. So jealous of you. I love you aaron neville....one big hunk of a man. Julie. U.k. Xxxx.
This song brings back so many memories of time spent in New Orleans many, many years ago...tears streaming down my face. Funny how one song can do that to you, isn't it? Thank you so much for posting this.
im a southener living in california.....dont ask.. but this reminds my home in florida...takes me away... hanging in new orleans for a vaca....listening to impromptu jam session with this talented musician....live zydeco live
@@hihoremy3940 hahahaha… I hear yah…. I was married and my husband was with me but it didn’t stop me from drooling! And I swear… on a stack of bibles…. Dennis Quaid smiled at me! It was a very small venue. I almost passed out! And I blushed! Ahhhh to be in my 20’s again! The good old days!
Aaron Neville.. add in some Dennis Quaid.. it doesn't get much better this.. a slow sexy romantic New Orleans song.. no clue how it gets better.. amazing... Bonnie Raitt is amazing.. this is a supreme treasure among the songs we can find here.. a treasure
I finally realized Dennis Quaid is a very good singer with this song. He is more handsome when he dyes his hair blonde too. I never really liked him singing "Great Balls of Fire".
That's Charles Neville on the saxophone. Saw them in New Orleans a few times and met him in Cincinnati...and to the person who said Aaron Neville ruins this song...?!? Guess you don't like N'awlins music...
Came here bc of his interview regarding that badass movie- I CAN ONLY IMAGINE. When he said 1982, I was like Woohoo! Hell Yeah... Gimme the 80s one more time! I was three then. Good times! Damn good song. Thumbs up sucka
Does anyone know what this clip was taken from? I saw the late Ed Bradley in the audience. It appears to maybe be some sort of benefit concert? From the ages of the stars, I would imagine that it was made some time in the 80's and Quaid has his hair like it was when he played Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire.

Buddy Quaid Also i believe this song never made it to the sound track with him singing, correct?

Loved the movie and this song in particular

I boomed the movie and after we recorded this song on the set, Dennis and I danced to it on the street. Thanks for the memory.
I STILL REMEMBER WHN I SAW THIS MOVIE, THEY ARE STILL HOT!!
Love this song. And the Big Easy
Saw the Neville Bros in person in Sydney.

I was there. What a memorable night!
OMG didn't even realize Dennis could sing 😮😱OMG he's good
I have to watch the Big Easy again. He has the most expressive fffface
NOW THIS IS A TRUE ZYDECO CLASSIC, DENNIS QAID, BONNIE RAITT AND THE ONE AND ONLY NEVIL BROTHERS.
OMG!!! What a song!!! It gives me the chills!! I love Bonnie Raitt . I saw her with little feat in the 70's and that's still the best concert that I have ever been to! They rocked the house down!!
Bonnie Raitt shines in this
Such a beautiful song 🎵 from the movie 8
I respect that black dude's back singing that adds that precious old school feel to this wonderful song
It's Aaron Neville, isn't it?
'That black dude' lol

AWESOME!! LOVE Dennis Quaid & his voice. I'd buy all of his music. Thank you SO much for the share!
The chemistry between Quaid and Raitt is undeniable- has always made me wonder what he whispers in her ear...
I love this song. You can feel the vibe between Bonnie and Dennis. I know he said something naughty to her😊. You can just tell.
She said...."i'm leaving the kid from caddy shack...next move is yours..."
Oh yeah! Terrific song. Great performances
and the neville brothers and MS BONNIE......AWESOME groove
This song brings back so many memories of time spent in New Orleans many, many years ago...tears streaming down my face. Funny how one song can do that to you, isn't it? Thank you so much for posting this.
I have been crazy about Denis Quaid ever since I saw him in The Big Easy.
Just been sent this by my guy in lockdown. We've been chatting for a longtime, but this confirms he's the right guy! So beautiful! And he is too!
Sou do Brasil...maravilhoso! Musica única, linda, excelente, tocante...vozes lindas ainda mais a do Dennis🥰🥰👏👏
Now there is a talented group you don't see together very often ! I loved this song in the movie. The sax part verson in the movie was better.
im a southener living in california.....dont ask.. but this reminds my home in florida...takes me away... hanging in new orleans for a vaca....listening to impromptu jam session with this talented musician....live zydeco live
Music and lyrics by Dennis Quaid
Dennis Quaid sings this and I melt 💕💖
He also wrote this song, or so I've been told.
@@hihoremy3940 yes I believe he did. I saw him in concert with his band, the Mystics in the 80’s. He sang this song. It was awesome.
@@TwistedArtdesigns Wish I had seen him perform live. But then I would have been arrested for staking him so maybe a good thing..

This video is great but the soundtrack features an absolutely killer sax solo that amplifies Dennis' passion.

This one combines my likes: Good-looking young singer, red-haired woman, extraordinary voice of Aaron + fine slide guitar.

After he made the movie, he changed. Got religious.
