Enjoyed the tour! I just wished there were more DJ equipment shown. How come you only use the Pioneer dj sz2 and not cdj's, vinyl, or a stand-a-lone controller system?
Its just an sz. And because it has everything I need. Comes down to return on investment. I have a lot more stuff on my list that will make me money buying before something like cdjs or vinyl would ever
You need to get some heavy duty toggle bolts and start hanging so shelves and stack underneath them. Could also setup some overhead storage on the back half of the garage.
Rick, thanks for your videos sharing all you do. I have a question about temperature. You mention fans to keep things cool and dehumidifier. What can I store in the garage that is not even insulated. I worry about heat (up to 95 deg in summer and 10 deg F in winter with a few outliers. I store only stands and tables in the garage now, but my wife is watching the gear taking up too much space in the house. I have a storage unit, but the temperature is also an issue.
The heat isnt too big of a concern. Humidity is bigger in the summer time. I would try and avoid temps below 30 to 40 degrees more or less for wooded cabinet speakers going from super cold then taking to an event were they warm up can crack the cabinets. But overall temps 30 to 100 degrees not so much an issue humidity is the biggest harm to electronics

Garage is insulated already plus I am in North Carolina. Coldest we get here is maybe a week a year at night it will get to 25 degrees. But for the most part are days are all around 40s and above.
Hey Rick, nice amount of equipment. I would recommend at some point getting a decent Shure or Sennheiser wireless system. I can't say enough about my EW500 g1 system. Had it for years, and still love it more than my ULXP systems. I wouldn't recommend a digital 2.4GHz wireless system. A buddy of mine did a gig and he said he couldn't get it to work at the venue. Got home, worked fine. Interference he says. It's happened twice. Also, I wouldn't recommend keeping the drape in a cardboard box. When you drop it in a puddle when you load out, it's a pain in the ass to dry. I own 20 panels of 16ft blue velour drape. 3 panels per case (except 1). Saves me when it's pouring rain. Some idiot I cross rented 6 panels to, didn't use the cases because they wouldn't fit, and then got them soaked. They still have a weird smell to them. Never really could get rid of it. He left them bunched up in his car. Anyway, just a word of advice, I would try to put everything in cases, even if you buy the cases used. That's how I got a lot of mine. Good luck finding space for all your new gear!
Hey Rick, great video as always. What type of dehumidifier do you have and do you recommend that one? I have lots of equipment stored in a garage as well. Thanks!

Holy shit you have hell a lot of gear. Doesnt renting gear work for you? Have you recovered the money you invested on this stuff? How the hell do you carry all that gear? You have an assistant?
