There is a large temperature difference, glad you noticed it. That's why so many pensioners up here will struggle with the heating allowance funding being removed.
And that is the summertime, changeable weather, it can be warm too! The MP’s who have taken away the cold weather payments should be sent up to live in Scotland for a winter, and get them to pay their own heating bills from their own pocket, not the taxpayers money. They might appreciate what they have done to our pensioners and vulnerable people in our society.
My favourite bit of this vid was the wee man in his wellies, hood up, not caring about the baltic 🏴 weather living his best life on the beach. You guys have 'canned' that memory for him so his kids, and his kids kids will get to enjoy it too. 👍
Another great blog 🎉 im loving the fact you're both (all) really really enjoying Scotland and seeing our beautiful country for what it is. Looking forward to the next one. ❤
Hello all of you. I’ve been watching your videos and I arrived in Scotland almost a week now. I just missed the places where you’ve been. I could have met you in person. Stay safe and hugs to Koda. What a wonderful boy.
Can’t beat getting away in the van. Gave up my dream car last year to buy a new crafter camper, we’re on the doorstep to NC500 so making use of it every possible opportunity. Great videos guys - enjoy !
Great to see you's having a great time despite the weather at times. That was really nice of that guy to give you that stuff and many beautiful locations. It's just a different life going camping, hiking and even with the van, you're living and experiencing the surroundings.
Lorne sausage is amazing, it's usually called square or slice. We used to always take some with us when we visited friends in Kent because they missed it so much. I think some butchers in England can get it for you, but I really don't know why it's not really a thing in England...It's the best thing ever in a breakfast roll! If you've got recurrent nosebleeds go and get checked by your GP, it can usually be fixed by something simple. I had to get my nose cauterized once because of recurrent nosebleeds - there was just a weak spot in one of the blood vessels, it wasn't pleasant but it sounds worse than it actually was! If you suffer from hayfever at all it could also be triggered by exposure to different pollens.
That was another great video pity about the weather Kodak’s a lovely little boy he looks as if he’s enjoying his holiday hope for the rest of your holiday the weather gets a bit better ❤
Been following your trip to Scotland . I recently bought & moved onto a narrow boat to live on . Now just in the market to purchase a camper van similar to what you are using to see all over Scotland highlands & islands . Great videos thanks 👍
Hello cute Koda! I haven't been watching any vlogs lately so I probably missed a few. Wonder what Koda will say if you ask him if he wants cold or hot weather. Beautiful place but it does look very freezing cold. Koda is such a comedian, his antics is just adorable. Enjoy your van trip.
Not surprised you're loving your van life adventure. You guys have such "itchy feet" as we call it here. (Or wanderlust in your part of the world.) Can you swim in that white sand beach during summer? I've always known there are white sand beaches not just in Scotland but other parts of the UK as well. Though when it comes to beaches, I still prefer our warm tropical ones with coconut trees. And i love those Highland Cows too. I always see pictures and videos of them online. The calves are esp. cute. The castle ruins are epic. Makes you wonder who dwelt in and owned them in times past. 17:00 - Of my gosh, Koda's cheeks are cherry red! 🍒
You just found one of Scotlands little secrets square sausage (lorne) if you had trued the full Scottish breakfast you would had got in that as well ps loveing the vids
Just found your channel and vlog, enjoying it, not actually done the NC500 yet, but have visited it several places en route and holidayed in the area, before it became popular. Enjoy your visit.
Went to Durness on a uni field trip, during Easter vacation, visited a beach my friend got caught in a wind gust doing a backflip, was using toothpaste for lips, rookie mistake not having lip balm! Yes and the pub, the policeman locked us all in after time was called!
Loved Koda running all over the beach bundled up. I used to get a lot of nosebleed when we lived in a high elevation. Is that area in high elevation? Beautiful country. God bless!
Square sausage is awesome lol i love it. Your nose bleeds might be the altitude but that’s an uneducated guess 😂 I’m from Fife an it feels like it’s always cold here too. Loving the vlogs enjoy.
Hi Lucy, You said that your skin was very dry so I am guessing the lining of your nose is dry too. If you have something like vaseline rub a little of it inside your nose and that might help. Koda looks like a real camping trooper. Really enjoying himself! The scenery is lovely and it is fun to find out a little about the people you run across. I have always wanted to visit Scotland.
It's Scotland 40 miles an hour wind is when we dig out the Tee Shirts ,shorts and flip flops. Anything above 70 mph we maybe fly our kites....(Joking) The highest ever recorded windspeed in Scotland measured by the UK Met Office in 1986 is 173 miles per hour (278.KPH) and not too far away on Cairngorm summit.....and as for feeling cold the lowest recorded temp by UK Met Office in 1982 was -..-minus 27.2 C in Altnaharra which again is not too far away ,less than 50 miles South East of Durness.
Scottish Midges: The Tiny Biter Causing Big Problems for Tourists The infamous Scottish midges are small, mosquito-like insects that plague the Scottish Highlands during the summer months. Though tiny, these midges are a major nuisance for both locals and tourists alike. Their bites can cause itching, irritation, and in some cases, even lead to unexpected symptoms such as nosebleeds. This peculiar reaction has been reported by tourists, and it’s linked to a unique mechanism employed by these biting insects. When a midge bites, it injects an anti-coagulant into the skin of its victim. This substance prevents the blood from clotting, allowing the insect to feed more easily. While this process is harmless to many, some individuals have more sensitive reactions to the anti-coagulant. This sensitivity can lead to systemic responses such as inflammation, allergic reactions, or in rare cases, the occurrence of spontaneous nosebleeds. In some tourists, particularly those unaccustomed to midge bites, the anti-coagulant injected by the midge may trigger a mild coagulopathy-an abnormality in the blood’s clotting ability. This can result in spontaneous bleeding, such as nosebleeds, especially in those who may already have fragile nasal blood vessels or who are prone to nosebleeds in dry or cold conditions. The increased irritability of the body's blood vessels, combined with the anti-coagulant's action, makes nosebleeds more likely in some individuals. To avoid midge bites, tourists are advised to wear insect repellent, long sleeves, and use protective nets during peak midge seasons. For those who experience unusual symptoms such as nosebleeds after being bitten, staying hydrated and using saline nasal sprays can help prevent dryness and reduce the risk of further nosebleeds. While the occurrence of nosebleeds from midge bites is uncommon, it's a reminder of the sometimes unexpected consequences that can arise from interactions with nature.
Scotland has an average humidity of 83% so I doubt very much its dry air to blame. I`d be looking at the water as water in areas of Peatland has a high PH, eg (acidic) the opposite of what you will find is Southern England where the water is Alkaline or chalky. Edited to add that here in the lowlands our water out the tap is PH7 which is neutral.
You're a ginger lass, you should be fine! Midge don't bite gingers!(True fact) Anyway, hope you're all enjoying the beautiful Highlands and Lorne sausage is the king of the sausage!
I moved to Scotland 2.5yrs ago, started living in Ullapool to start with and now in Perthshire. Actually, come to miss the English south coast but I've met my now wife here so a bit torn at present. Scotland is a nice place to visit for its countryside but the weather does make it depressing.
This is the first video I have seen from your family travels and I have enjoyed watching it, I just wish you all could get some excellent weather to show how beautiful Scotland is, the downside is being ripped off for the price of food and drinks etc otherwise glad you are enjoying yourselves even though your video title gave me a bit of fear 😊
I'm always looking forward to seeing Koda's flushed red cheeks, and today's vlog delivered so well with that 😚. Amazing views of Scotland continue..hope everything worked out fine with Lucy's nosebleeding.. maybe the cold weather, I don't know I live in a tropical country. Take care!
Seems like checking in to the five star hotel is over since you left Manila? No more eating to fancy restaurants and island hoping. I’m sure you miss it because it’s very expensive there not like when you’re in Manila your money conversion is a lot so you can do whatever you want and live like king and queen, plus the people in Manila treat people like you meaning tourist diffently.
Scotland ISN'T brutal 🙄 (what a header...) Maybe you were unlucky with the weather. The WHOLE of the UK has had a crap summer. Scotland is BEAUTIFUL 🏴

Lorne sausages are fantastic by it's more commonly just called a square sausage, or sometimes a flat sausage.
We loved it!
I call it sliced sausage but I'm fi Edinburgh.

We don't have bad weather in Scotland - only the wrong clothes.
Said Billy Connolly
If you’re in Glasgow, visit Pollok Park in the south side. There are highland cows that will come to you for a pet, they are lovely.
And if you have some brambles they will follow you home
