    The best piano teacher I know. But please do most teaching on key C for better understanding please.

      Njoya Divine this tutorial was in C, and the intro in The key of A minor, relative minor for C major

      Learn your scales. Not every song is in C and in gospel you need to know all the scales. Teaching in one key is impractical. Plus the tutorial is literally in C.

    Nice playing. I just realized the voicing you're playing is most likely inversions. It sounds good and more jazzy.

    Another gem. May sound simple but unless you can do this instantly, in all 12 keys,through standard progressions, you have not mastered the piano. It will hold you back until you can.

      @@PianoLessonwithWarren I found \i could not do this Warren, which surprised me. I am doing this work now. It really helping. I can play many jazz, lbues, rock, numbers, I can improvise over them, but I now realise even this is not this is not enough for true freedom. One needs a solid instant foundation in all keys any which way. Hope Donovan is well ;) . Your the best teach on the internet for intermediates and above. I keep returning to your stuff.

      But thank you anyway.

    • @PianoLessonwithWarren
      @PianoLessonwithWarren  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      MathieuR in a lot of ways passing chords overlaps and works as substitutions

    Cmaj7 = Em/C
    Cm7 = Eb/C
    C7 = Edim/C
    Could I think of it this way ^?
    Because I can already play inversions of minor, major, and diminished chords very easily.

    Thanks for the great tutorial, Warren. I have one question though. Is the 7th note played according to the key you're in or is it the 7th note of the root scale? For instance if I'm in C and I want to play a G7 chord, will my 7th note be F (staying in the key of C) or F# (7th note of G major scale)? Thanks!!

    • @PianoLessonwithWarren
      @PianoLessonwithWarren  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeremiah Mensah yes that’s correct. The 7th note from the root of the chord

      Hey isn't it the seventh that fits in the scale. Like for the fourth we use the 7 cause that fits, while for the fifth we use the b7 cause again then that fits in the scale.
