There is NO Hijab in the Quran? (Brilliant Response)

  • Another doubt that needs to be deconstructed is the claim that there is "No Hijab in the Quran". This is another claim that has been brought about in a time where there is increasing pressure to modernize certain Islamic rulings. We take a look at this claim along with many others, in the latest episode of Destroying Doubts.

In fact, these people have a god which is (desire)
      Allah (ﷻ) says:
      - { Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire }
      - { But if the Truth had followed their desire, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. }

When you read the word “most of them” in the Qur’an, you will find after it... !!!
(disobedient, ignorant, are turning away, not use reason, do not hear, do not be grateful,...)
So be one of the few in whom Allah Almighty said:
(And few of My servants are grateful)
(But none had believed with him, except a few)
(A [large] company of the former peoples And a few of the later peoples)
(except for those who believe and do righteous deeds - and few are they)
Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
You must follow the right path, and do not be dismayed by the few pedestrians.
And beware of the path of falsehood, and do not be deceived by the abundance of those who pedestrians.
may Allah made us and you among the righteous and Success people.

I was trying to find some videos or perceptions to convince myself that hijab was not compulsory. After deeper research nothing could convince me that hijab is optional! Therefore for anyone trying to find a way out there is NOT! And by the way after wearing the hijab I fell in love with it! Biggest blessing after having found islam!

I’m a revert and before I even took my shahada I had a spiritual awakening and covering my hair was the most natural thing to do, I didn’t read it anywhere, it was a feeling I had to honour myself and the creator of all that is and I understand that everyone is different, for some people taking off their clothes is a form of honouring the creator or a form of liberation and I totally respect that.
What’s unfair is to constantly criticise that which is foreign to you.
Let us wear our hijabs in peace.

    • @Guyanababoo217
      @Guyanababoo217 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

I understand what you're saying, and I totally agree with you. But, don't you think that it's wrong to propagate something as a sin and make it mandatory when there's no mandate for it in the Quran?
For a Muslim woman that's not a choice anymore, it's being imposed upon her. As a woman in general, it is her choice, but from an "Islamic" perspective the choice doesn't exist.
I understand in your case, you've had a subjective spiritual awakening, but that doesn't apply to the general ruling of mainstream Islam.
There could be millions of women wearing the hijab solely because they believe it's mandatory. Maybe they're struggling everyday because they don't actually want to wear it, but because they believe Allah commanded it, they do it for the love and honor of their creator... and not wanting to be sinned for not doing it.
I'm not against the hijab or the choice of wearing the hijab. I'm against the wrongful imposition of it. It's vile and disdain.

But again, the word "Hijab" in the Quran never mentions head covering; 7:46 - 17:45 -19:17 - 33:53 - 38:32 - 41:5 - 42:5. All those ayat talks about hijab as a screen, partition, and a veil that has nothing to do with woman head covering. So how can you put the word Hijab as a part of a woman's covering when the Quran never mentions that??

Look I'm a Muslim too. What you're doing is taking a certain minority among the Muslims who have the freedom to wear the hijab or not to wear it and using them to represent the entire Muslim community. Most women wear it because it's mandatory in their country. The women you talk about won't face any consequences from her land if she takes the hijab off but an average muslim woman in a muslim country will. Basically they're forced because either it's the law or a social obligation which they can't ignore. The woman you talk about had a choice but the majority don't. And stop comparing nuns to Muslims. Nuns aren't an average follower of their religion. They've chosen their path and can back away from it anytime without anyone judging her every movement. If a Muslim woman takes her hijab off you know what will happen in the most Muslim countries. The nuns are usually above average followers of their faith while an average muslim woman is an average follower of our faith. Stop with these bland comparisons you'll get destroyed in an actual debate. If anything, this comparison is hypocrisy from us muslims because we are taking the exceptions and using them as an all out example. If every one of the followers had free choice then your comparison would've worked. We are Muslim and follow Allah so we can't do whatever tf we like. The others shan't understand. But this bland comparisons are just stupid and can be used to mock us further.

However, those things happen in the eastern part of the world is the exact opposite yet still the same response in the western part of the world. I’m against both however, I’m talking about the aspect of the west. It’s truly sad that not everyone of the east can move to the west. But for those who do, why do you think they want to move to the west? So that they can practice Islam the right way without any force of ridiculous ideologies. Y’all are trusting everything scholars say as if they specifically asked Allah the questions you ask. If you think a little you will realize Islam isn’t everything these scholars preach. Islam is so much more than a scarf you wear on your head. Islam is a how to guide on life. Allah sent the Quran to help guide us and navigate our way on this earth. Y’all are really trusting hadiths that came out after the prophets death, and scholars who are flawed and humans? Men have hair too. Women are just as sexually attracted to men. We are told to lower our gaze. In the Quran allah tells us to cover our chest and bosoms and if he wanted us covering our hair we would have clearly said hair. Mens bodies are beautiful too if you ask women. Men have beauty too. I was a hijabi who was so convinced wearing my hijab then suddenly something overcame me and I realized the truth. Wake up. Khimar was what Arabs used to wear as a head covering to protect them from the sun back in the days of the prophet. The Quranic verse tells women to use the piece of clothing to cover their chest and bosoms because they used to have them out. Allah talks about modesty but no where does it say cover your hair. Wake up people. We are so easily brain washed. I grew up in the Middle East being told if I don’t wear hijab I go to hell. Where does it say that in the Quran???? Where???

    • @rtxz5697
      @rtxz5697 ปีที่แล้ว

Quran clearly didn't say cover the hair because they already had their hair covered to begin with quran just added to cover the chest with this khimar. If you are still saying that the purpose was to cover the chest only then why didn't Allah say in the quran "wear something that cover the chest". Why did the quran use khimar to cover the chest instead? The order was clear "use this khimar to cover your chest". The order wasn't "cover your chest". You said one day something overcame you and you woke up? Let me assure you that this something was the shaytan. Quran also doesn't say not wearing hijab you will go to hell but it also says disobeying Allah's orders will make you go to hell. Don't let the shaytan convince you that you are not doing a sin.
      Al-Haj - Verse 53
All that so He may make Satan’s influence a trial for those ˹hypocrites˺ whose hearts are sick and those ˹disbelievers˺ whose hearts are hardened. Surely the wrongdoers are totally engrossed in opposition.
"Let there be no compulsion in religion truth is clear from falsehood". And hijab is clearly a fard.
      May Allah guide us all.

    • @rtxz5697
      @rtxz5697 ปีที่แล้ว

And for the point that you made why women and not men. Allah says
      An-Nisa - Verse 32
And do not crave what Allah has given some of you over others. Men will be rewarded according to their deeds and women ˹equally˺ according to theirs. Rather, ask Allah for His bounties. Surely Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.
Allah tells us not to look at what the others have and say why them not us. Each of us men and women have our own restriction our own things to follow we are not the same. But each of us will be rewarded only according to their deeds. Allah ends the verse that he has all knowledge he knows what we don't know. He knows why women and not men and we should obey him. I am not saying dont look for the wisdom behind this. It is okay look for the wisdom of why women and not men but what I am saying is dont let the idea of "this doesn't make any sense" make you think that hijab is not fard. This is basically how Allah tests us sister. Will you follow my orders? Or will you follow your desires? An example of this is the story of Hajr (AS) when prophet Ibrahim(PBUH) left her on the desert. Did she say why me and not you? No but she said if Allah says so then he will not leave us astray. She believed that Allah has all knowledge that Allah knows what she doesn't and that doesn't make it right to disobey Allah's orders.
      Al-Jathiyah - Verse 23
Have you seen ˹O Prophet˺ those who have taken their own desires as their god? ˹And so˺ Allah left them to stray knowingly, sealed their hearing and hearts, and placed a cover on their sight. Who then can guide them after Allah? Will you ˹all˺ not then be mindful?
Allah is All knowledgeable our desires aren't. Allah is the one we should worship and not our desires. WALLAHI WALLAHI sister if Allah told men to wear hijab I would have wore it without any questions bcuz I know there is a reason behind this even though I don't know it. I might look for that reason but I would never said Allah didn't say that or else I would have made something veeeery wrong.
Sister please never let shaytan deceive you for your own good. I don't want to be a witness against you in the day of judgement. Wallahi I am not following scholars blindly either. Wallahi I want your good. I don't want to make restrictions upon women for no reason. WALLAHI.

I as a man can say why should me the husband pay for everything in the house and my wife shouldn't pay for anything according to shariah law. Why should I pay for her clothes although she has money? For her kitchen utensils let's say although she has money? Even for her makeup although she has money? But I know that Allah made this for a reason. I am obligated to pay everything and not her doesn't mean that she is very happy and living peacefully and she is a millionare bcuz she doesn't pay. She still suffers way too much while trying to deal with my children. She still keeps shouting all the time day and night bcuz my children do not want to listen to what she is saying while I am at work. She has her own obligations too. She has her own things to do too. Her own restrictions too. It is not a challenge I repeat but rather we should still do our jobs (notice: That doesn't mean a woman's job is to stay at the house shouting at children My wife just wants that lol) . We (men and woman) should still both of us do our obligations that Allah commaned us to do. But we do not have the same obligations. So we shouldn't look at what the other gender has while we don't bcuz we also have things the other gender doesn't. Allah is all knowledgeable all wise he told us to do those things for a purpose. Finding the purpose can increase our iman but if it goes to the point of disobeying Allah's orders that's bad now.

It's very difficult for me to wear a hijab because of my cultural background. I know people will see me different. They will judge me and I don't want that to happen. I feel like I'll be discriminated because there's a lot of islamophobia in the world. But I reached a point in my faith in which I don't care for what other people think anymore, I just want to please Allah SWT (even though i don't like to wear it at all, I want to do it for Him). I know with time I will like it, but it's very frustrating cause I can't wear it because of my family. They don't accept that I converted to Islam and they won't let me practice Islam in any way (I always have to practice it in secret, but Allah has made it easy from me, Alhamdulillah). I know they don't understand the real message of Islam, they just have a lot of prejudgements and are worried for me, but I hope one day I can finish my degree and get independent so that I can finally practice Islam in peace without being judged by it. Just one thing: please don't pressure girls to wear a hijab, let them find they're path through Allah and get into it on their own. Allah will guide them, let people make they're own decisions and don't force anyone. You have no idea how difficult it is for someone when people is shouting at you that you're not a good Muslim like "come on just do it, it's not that hard girl"... Don't. Instead, tell them "look, it is commanded in the Quran that you have to cover yourself for you own safety, but take your time. It's okay, don't get stressed, focus on strengthening other parts of your faith and when you're ready, start wearing the hijab little by little. Ask Allah to make it easy for you, and everything will be okay. He loves you, never forget that". And also... Be nicer to each other, I see a bit of bad vibes on the comment section :(

Me too, The thing is the Quran is timeless so regardless of the generation your living in everything still applies, it’s society that makes it hard for women to cover their hair. In Islam we don’t only follow the Quran but also the sunnah which teaches us how to pray, act, and the hijab, which she does not mention. Hijab is mandatory in our religion. Regardless of “function”. And I’ve seen “ scholars” who speak fluently with Hadith etc and it sounds so good right and he said we don’t have to pray because it doesn’t say so in the Quran right? Wrong! We follow the sunnah as well which teaches us as Muslims how to pray, act, wear hijab etc.

She is one of the signs of the day of judgment, because there will be people who it will sound amazing too like when I first watched but even in the way she speaks she doesn’t call upon our propohet Muhammad swt with salutations she just says Mohammad which is fard.

The punishment of the Hellfire. AS Hell has various levels, in some of which the torment and horror is greater than in others, so the people of Hell will be given different levels of punishment. According to a Hadith narrated by Muslim and Ahmad from Samurah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said concerning the people of Hell: “There are some whom the Fire will take up to their ankles, others up to their knees, others up to their waists, and others up to their collarbones.”
According to another report, “up to their necks” (Muslim in Kitab Al-Jannah wa Sifaat Na’imiha, Baab Shiddat Harr an-Naar, 4/2185)
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) has told us about those who will receive the lightest punishment in Hell. Al-Bukhari reports from Al-Nu’maan ibn Bashir who said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say, ‘The person who will have the least punishment among the people of Hell on the Day of Resurrection will be a man under the arch of whose feet will be placed a smouldering ember, and his brains will boil because of it’.
Al-Bukhari and Muslim both narrate from Abu Saeed Al-Khudri that he heard the Messenger of Allah Almighty say, when his uncle Abu Talib was mentioned: “Maybe my intercession will help him on the Day of Resurrection, so that he may be put in a shallow part of Hell, with fire reaching to his ankles and causing his brain to boil.” (Al-Bukhari in Kitab ar-Riqaq, Bab Sifaat Al-Jannah wan-Naar, Fath Al-Bari, 11/417 and Muslim in Kitab Al-Imam, Bab Shifaat an-Nabi (peace be upon him), Ali ibn Abi Talib, 1/195, Hadith no. 360)
Many ayat confirm the different levels of punishment that will be given to the people of Hell: “The hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire...” (Qur’an, 4:145)
“..and on the Day when the Hour uprises (it is said): Cause Pharaoh’s folk to enter the most awful punishment. (Qur’an, 40:46)
“Those who reject Allah and hinder from the Path of Allah, for them will We add penalty to penalty, for that they used to spread mischief.” (Qur’an, 16:88)
Al-Qurtubi said, “This topic indicates that the kufr of the person who simply disbelieves is not like the kufr of a person who oppresses, disbelieves, rebels and disobeys. There is no doubt that the infidels will suffer different levels of punishment in hell, as is known from Qur’an and Sunnah. We know for certain that the punishment of those who oppressed and killed the Prophets and Muslims, and spread corruption and disbelief on earth, will not be the same as the punishment of those who simply disbelieved, but treated the Prophets and Muslims well. Do you not see Abu Talib, how the Prophet (peace be upon him) will bring him up to a shallow level of Hell, because he helped him, protected him and treated him well? The Hadith narrated by Muslim from Samurah may be interpreted as referring to the infidel, as there is a Hadith about Abu Talib, or it may be interpreted as referring to those monotheists who will be punished.” (At-Tadhkirah, p. 409)
      Roasting of the skin
The Fire of the Almighty will burn the skin of the infidels. The skin is the site of sensation, where the pain of burning is felt, and for this reason, Allah Almighty will replace the burned skin with a new one, to be burned anew, and this will be repeated endlessly: “Those who reject Our Signs, We shall soon cast them into the Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the penalty. For Allah is Exalted in Power, All-Wise.” (Qur’an, 4:56)
      Melting
One of the kinds of torment will be the pouring of Al-Hamim over their heads. Al-Hamim is ultra-heated water; because of its extreme heat, it will melt their innards and everything inside: “... then as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them, boiling water will be poured down over their heads. With it will melt or vanish away what is within their bellies, as well as skins.” (Qur’an, 22:19-20)
At-Tirmidhi reported from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Al-Hamim will be poured on their heads and will dissolve through until it reaches their sides and all their innards will drop out, until it comes out of his feet, and everything is melted, then he will be restored as he was.” He (At-Tirmidhi) said, “It is a sahih ghareeb hasan Hadith.” (At-Takhweef min An-Naar, p.145, Jaami’ Al-Usool, 10/540)
      Scorching (the face)
The noblest and most dignified part of a person is the face, hence the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade us to strike the face. One of the ways in which Allah Almighty will humiliate the people of Hell is by gathering them on their faces, blind, deaf and dumb, on the Day of Resurrection: “...We shall gather them together prone on their faces, blind, dumb, and deaf; their abode will be Hell; every time it shows abatement, We shall increase for them the Fierceness of the Fire.” (Qur’an, 17:97)
Then they will be thrown on their faces in the Fire: “And if any do evil, their faces will be thrown headlong into the Fire: “Do you receive a reward other than that which you have earned by your deeds?” (Qur’an, 27:90)
The Fire will burn and cover their faces forever, with no barrier between them and it: “If only the unbelievers knew when they will not be able to ward off the Fire from their faces, nor yet from their backs, and no help can reach them!” (Qur’an, 21:39)
“The Fire will burn their faces and they will therein grin, with their lips displaced.” (Qur’an, 23:104)
“Their garments of liquid pitch, and their faces covered with fire.” (Qur’an, 14:50)
“Is then one who has to fear the brunt of the penalty on the Day of Judgement his face?” (Qur’an, 39:24)
Look at this horrific scene that makes one shudder!
“The Day that their faces will be turned upside down in the Fire, they will say, “Woe to us! Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger.” (Qur’an, 33:66)
Do you not see that just as meat and fish are turned over when they are cooked, so their faces will be turned over in the Fire of Hell. We seek refuge with Allah Almighty from the punishment of the people of Hell.
      Dragging
Another of the painful torments that the infidels will suffer is being dragged on their faces into Hell: “Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad. The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces: “Taste the touch of Hell.” (Qur’an, 54:47-48)
Their pain at being dragged will be increased by the fact that they will be tied up in chains and fetters: “...But soon shall they know, when the yokes round their necks, and the chains, they shall be dragged along, in the boiling fetid fluid, then shall they be burned.” (Qur’an, 40:70-72)
Qatadah said, “They will be dragged once in the Fire, and once in Al-Hamim.” (Ibn Rajab, at-Takhweef min an-Naar, p.147)
      Blackening of the faces
Allah Almighty will blacken the faces of the people of Hell in the Hereafter: “On the Day when some faces will be white and some faces will be black; to those who faces will be black: “Did you reject Faith after accepting it? Taste then the Penalty for rejecting Faith.” (Qur’an, 3:106)
This is intense blackness, as if the darkness of night had covered their faces
“But those who have earned evil will have a reward of like evil, and ignominy will cover their faces. No defender will they have from Allah. Their faces will be covered, as it were, with pieces from the darkness of night. They are Companions of the Fire, they will abide therein [for aye!] (Qur’an, 10:27)

In my country now, a hijab draws attention instead of diverts it. But it doesn't draw sexual attention which means it is serving its purpose. And that's the distinction that these people can't make. Even if it draws attention, it doesn't sexualize me, it does the opposite.

When Allah asked that we draw the garments over our chests to cover our bosoms, he was def. more concerned about the chest showing, not the hair. Its was OK for men to have younger boys too, and also siblings, now we have a name for all that. Let say 2000 years ago, a man and his sistrr lay together, although it's OK in that society and time. @@sickdead no dude it doesn’t work like that 1400 years ago the way the male and female bodies grew and developed were a lot faster than now so they were pretty much adults or teens almost becoming adults. Also I would also like to note that the prophet peace be upon him had multiple wives who were older like the brother said above this is not a track record of a “creep” please be careful what you say I can understand where you are coming from to a certain extent. But please look into detail from correct sources (islamic scholars) and ask God (Allah) for sincere guidance and understanding. One last thing is that Aisha was going to marry someone else older than her too , I forgot his age but this is another evidence to show that she was mature. I mean the prophet literally waited for marriage consumption and her parents or no one in the society had a problem with it. Until now people didn’t have a problem with it due to their ignorance. This is not a “brilliant response” but a rather deceptive response.
His only argument was maliciously changing the meaning of the word “khimar” which simply means “veil.” Most translations of 24:31 says “veil” not “head covers” and even if it did say headcovers, this does not even make it a command. The command was for women to cover their chest area and the Quran gives a way to cover that area. So there is no command from the Quran that says women must cover their hair no matter how much mental gymnastics you guys make.
Even in the authentic hadiths there is no command for women to cover their hair. This command appeared rather 50 years ago by petrol-funded Saudi Wahabis who corrupted Islam to fit their political agenda.

The person being interviewed is mistakenly, FACTUALLY INCORRECT.
A ‘Khimar’ (plural: Khumur) is anything which veils or covers something. It does not only imply a head-covering for women as has become commonly applied in its modern day usage . It is NOT the 'PRIMARY ' meaning.
It is formed from the root word ‘Kha-Miim-Ra’ which primarily means to ‘conceal or to cover’. A veil is an example of such a covering but it is NOT restricted to it. The same root word Kha-Miim-Ra also forms words such as ‘Khamr’ meaning something which intoxicates (e.g. wine) as it clouds, obscures, covers and conceals the intellect. Again, the core meaning is derived from the understanding ‘to conceal’.
Information regarding what women wore at the time of Jahliyya (Period of Ignorance) or what their Khimar’s consisted of, are only known to us by traditions and folklore often centuries removed from source and not the Quran. Many of these narratives are well known to be aggressive interpretations against women. The Quran is and undoubtedly remains the primary source of any interpretation of Quranic words.
Note the Arabic word: 'yadribna' which is formed from the root word ‘Da-Ra-Ba’ which in this context means to draw or draw over (as in to cover). This term does not necessarily or exclusively imply that it is to be drawn from a particular location such as the head.
Therefore, an ACCURATE rendering of the specific part of the verse in question is as follows:
“...And to draw their coverings over their chests” (24:31) The focus is simply on the chest. If one is to remain true to the classical Arabic and the Quran itself, there is also no implication of ‘hair covering’ by virtue of the word ‘bi’khumurihinna’ which simply means ‘a covering’ in its primary sense. The ‘head-covering’ is just one example.
SIGNIFICANTLY, the Arabic preposition "BI" meaning "WITH" in "(BI)khumurihinna", which means they are to cover their chests WITH their "khumur/covers/ve". The usage of preposition "BI" is different to the preposition "MIN" as used in 33:59 "(MIN) jalabeebihinna" which means to use a part of their "jilbab/outer-garment" in the modification suggested, i.e. not all of it has to be lowered or drawn near, just part of it.
In 24:31 if God intended that part of it (e.g. headcover) stays on the head and part of it be used to cover the bosom, it would have been more appropriate to use "min khumurhinna". Furthermore, the word "yadribna" as used in 24:31 has no connotation of lengthening or lowering in any other occurrence, unlike "yudneena" in 33:59 which does, thus would have been more appropriate to use.
Even if "khumur" is taken to mean "headcovers" it should be noted that the order is to cover the chest, not the head - one may cover their head IF they wish, IF it should be their preference AND it would have to be worn NOT AS 'ADORNMENT' presumably not brightly coloured or decorated. For headcover it would have been reasonable to suppose that AllahSWT would have said 'bikhumurihinna sha'r (hair) or ra'as (head)' which is absent.
Either way both hair and head-covering can be viewed as adornment/draw attention or attraction, depending on how it is worn and also dependent on the onlooker, so modesty is NOT assured by a head-covering as IN CONTRAST to a fully covered chest/breast covering which is the focus of ''bikhumurihinna''.
If the premise/foundation of a belief/understanding is mistaken or corrupted or careless to BEGIN WITH, it doesn't matter how may 'thousands of ulema/scholars' without doing their own homework/ijtihad (Qur'anic instruction btw), have regurgitated these falsehoods down the timeline!
WITH ALL THAT BEING SAID, 'HIJAB' which ACTUALLY means 'curtain, divider, barrier' is a DIRECTIVE GIVEN TO MEN, and NOT EVEN WOMEN IN THE BLESSED QUR'AN!!!

She did not lie! The Quran does not ordain that the a women should wear a head covering.
The word, hijab is not in the verses he is talking about, the guy even admits that!
If you look at the so called hijab verse, it actually addresses men first!! Should men be wearing a headscarf? There are some cultures, where, in fact, this is so!
The khimmar is a cloak tp be worn over the shoulders to cover that which is apparent. It was advised by Rasool to wear a cloak so as to distinquish the new muslim reverts to Islam from the Jews and the Christians.
Thus, it was for recognition and not for modesty. Because, all women regardless of religion, dressed decently. If you choose to wear a head covering, no problem, its your choice.

@@user-k229 that's not correct. It clearly mentions khimar. Hijab does not even mean head covering it means a veil. It can be a curtain between 2 ppl. Khimar on the other hand is very spastic to a head covering. So perhaps you're looking for the wrong word. Read the tafseer please.

@@user-k229 look up words like khamir. Means drunk referring to head/mind. Or is a horse had different colours on the head it would be called mutakhamir. Khimar is VERY spasific to the head in the Arabic language. It's very clear. Even mother marry wore a scarf. Religion came down in different chapters. Islam completed Christianity. Why would God move backwards from what he commanded Christians to do? Your argument also lacks logic.

Don't forget in chapter 19 of the Quran the word "Hijab" is mentioned by word exactly like it. It says in 19:17...
"And she (Mary) took in seclusion from them a hijab (screen/ head cover), then We sent to her Our Spirit, who represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man".
Read it in Arabic. "Fata khathat min doonihim *hijaban* fa arsalna ilaiha rohana, fata mathala laha basharan saweea".

Alhamdulillah, I have read many comments of girls. Ma Shaa ALLAH ,their interest for hijab has really pleased me.
Actually I wanna say something here to that type of people including muslims and non-muslims whoever think with -ve attitude in case of hijab . We wear hijab for the sake of Allah Subhanallah Tayala and for our akhirah. And We wear hijab not only to protect ourselves from the dirty eyes and dirty minds , but also it expresses our dignity, modesty, passion , comfort, self-confidence, personality etc ( Alhamdulillah ).I am giving explanation to them whoever don't know the meaning of akhirah . Actually this world is not our permanent place. It is just like a xm hall .The more u can gain plus(+) points ,the more your possibility to go to Jannah-ul-firdaus will increase In Shaa ALLAH. Just like your heaven or paradise whatever u treat according to your religion . And here character is a huge fact for this xm . And your hijab and dress also matter . The more u cover your beauty , the more people's attraction will be decreased In Shaa ALLAH. May ALLAH repent us .
