Keyla Detective Practice 9/6/23

This was a very interesting run. It was very challenging for her on the inside due to cats and prey drive. On the outside I was very proud of her to pick up the start line hides. And then the convergence odor outside.  Back behind the garage when she went to the fence and started working forward you could tell that the wind had been blowing the odor and pooling on all those areas. I’m really happy with her working forward from into the scent cone and finding the source. As we enter, the garage, there is a suspended hide. Only one time did she actually look up at it on her own, but it was not enough to hold her attention. It’s a great learning exercise, so I’m happy to have had the chance to work it for her. The cats were very distracting and several times I’ve had to reset her and refocus her brain and have her try to ignore the prey drive. at least she was able to find the hides and not completely give in to the prey drive.
