In your left ear was the 2015 performance audio (original 2013 lyrics), your right ear was the late 2017 performance audio (RM rewrote some of his lyrics). i love the choreography for this- the old version with them facing in, singing towards the other members then opening themselves up to the audience as a "we are here, look at us" move. And then in the 5-years later they do the opposite and start facing outwards then turn back towards the members as kind of a "we can't forget each other/we got this far together"... just so good.

I'm Hobi biased with 6 bias wreckers 😉 I watched kdramas whilst being furloughed during lockdown. I watched Hwarang and was drawn to the cute youngest guy so looked him up. He was Kim Taehyung aka V of BTS. Like you, I knew of BTS but didn't think to listen to their music because I didn't think I'd understand it. Well, that changed thanks to V being in that drama. In the 2013 version they start out facing each other and end up facing ARMY. In the 2018 version, it's the opposite. It's allmost as if they were making a promise to ARMY in the first, and a promise to each other in the second (that's the year they were struggling and thought of disbanding). The newest, 2022 Proof Live version has them seated facing forwards, and this time it feels like a promise to themselves. All three versions make me teary eyed💜.
This was such a good reaction. Born Singer is one of my favorites, but I haven't seen this compilation. I am 69+ years old & have been silver ARMY since 2016. I know that I will never see them live. Age limits . Your sincerity is infectious. You deserve your TH-cam success.

I love this song, and I was so happy that they included it on "Proof." I adore J-Hope, too... along with the other 6. I think my bias switches daily. There's just something about Hobi, though. He's just so much goodness in one place. I hope you start to feel better soon.
The original artist, J. Cole said he loved this version. The guys said that J Cole was a major influence on them. They wanted to show respect to him, but share their story with us. I believe they accomplished both. And at the end, no matter if it's the earlier performance or the more recent, to hear the audience sing for them, talk about tears streaming...that is always me. You know there are a couple of other songs that BTS re-did. One is called "Perfect Man," from a k pop group called Shinwa, they are from 1st Gen. Another is called "Bad Boy" by a Solo artist by the name of Rain. He too is 1st Gen. But the one song that I think you may like the most is called "Come Back Home." This group would be Seo Taiji and the Boys. The very first k pop group. So all three artists I just mentioned, let's just say that without these artists we wouldn't have what k pop is today. We wouldn't have any of the groups. A lot of the 3rd and 4th Gen groups know that they wouldn't be here if these first artists hadn't paved the way. Hell BTS had the privilege of performing with Seo Taiji at his 25th-anniversary concert. As for you being able to see them in concert. It may not be tomorrow. When my daughter and I got lucky enuf to see them at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas back in April, none of us knew that they (the concerts) were going to be their last for a while. And even though it seems really far off right now. They have said that they will be having a comeback with all the members in 2025. So be prepared, save your money, and I'm sure depending on when they all go in will depend on when they come out, we will here something about a tour in 2025/2026, I don't have a doubt. I hope you can see them live. I saw them in 2019 in New Jersey, US. I've seen many concerts, many.....BTS is the BEST, most SPECTACULAR concert I've had the honor & joy to see! They performed it live with a band, and videotaped it for their FESTA 9 year anniversary, and released on their anniversary date June 13, 2022. it was recorded before their Las Vegas Concert in April. In the 2013 version they start out facing each other and end up facing ARMY.
In the 2018 version, it's the opposite.
It's allmost as if they were making a promise to ARMY in the first, and a promise to each other in the second (that's the year they were struggling and thought of disbanding).
The newest, 2022 Proof Live version has them seated facing forwards, and this time it feels like a promise to themselves.
All three versions make me teary eyed💜.

Joon, Suga and Hobi wrote the lyrics (covering J. Cole's 'Born Sinner') and this was released unofficially to celebrate their one month debut. The lyrics are all about how hard it was to get there and their passion. It's a special song for the guys and for Army who know the story 💜

The original artist, J. Cole said he loved this version. The guys said that J Cole was a major influence on them. They wanted to show respect to him, but share their story with us. I believe they accomplished both. And at the end, no matter if it's the earlier performance or the more recent, to hear the audience sing for them, talk about tears streaming...that is always me.
You know there are a couple of other songs that BTS re-did. One is called "Perfect Man," from a k pop group called Shinwa, they are from 1st Gen. Another is called "Bad Boy" by a Solo artist by the name of Rain. He too is 1st Gen. But the one song that I think you may like the most is called "Come Back Home." This group would be Seo Taiji and the Boys. The very first k pop group. So all three artists I just mentioned, let's just say that without these artists we wouldn't have what k pop is today. We wouldn't have any of the groups. A lot of the 3rd and 4th Gen groups know that they wouldn't be here if these first artists hadn't paved the way. Hell BTS had the privilege of performing with Seo Taiji at his 25th-anniversary concert.
As for you being able to see them in concert. It may not be tomorrow. When my daughter and I got lucky enuf to see them at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas back in April, none of us knew that they (the concerts) were going to be their last for a while. And even though it seems really far off right now. They have said that they will be having a comeback with all the members in 2025. So be prepared, save your money, and I'm sure depending on when they all go in will depend on when they come out, we will here something about a tour in 2025/2026, I don't have a doubt.

I hope you can see them live. I saw them in 2019 in New Jersey, US. I've seen many concerts, many.....BTS is the BEST, most SPECTACULAR concert I've had the honor & joy to see! Male sure you purchase an ARMY BOMB before you go. It makes the experience so interactive. I also hope I get to see them again!

There is a performance of this song now, and RM changed a line in the recent performance to fit his message now. If you haven't watched PROOF Live, you should. It has Born Singer, Yet To Come (with Anderson Paak), a short talk about where they are at now, and then For Youth. They performed it live with a band, and videotaped it for their FESTA 9 year anniversary, and released on their anniversary date June 13, 2022. it was recorded before their Las Vegas Concert in April. That would be a good reaction video. I will link that for you.

So sorry you haven't been feeling well. I had covid 2 weeks ago and still dealing with that pesky cough myself. No fun. Your elephant analgoy made sense to me, and I also call the BTS effect "magic" because it is just so hard to explain to outsiders and yet every ARMY gets it. We'll be proud of them forever! Oh and good news, they do have a 2022 live performance of this song! And there's just 2 performances in the compilation you watched, and the 2022 version is only the third time they've ever performed it. It's a very special song for their identity, and honestly it's probably in my top 5 BTS tracks.
