Omg the passes. Sis if she has to pass more than 3 times she does not know what she is doing. I have the same texture as you. I get my hair flat ironed all the time and have had very minimal heat damage. She is ruining your curl pattern.

She didn’t use heat protection before straightening the hair, they don’t know how to do it but they’ll not tell you , they’ll damage your hair instead 💔💔

She applied heat protectant now. Even the subtitles said it. The problem was she did a 3 plus passes with the flat iron as if it's a comb. And then came again at the end with a blow dryer on top 🤦🏿♀️🙆🏿♂️
Great video. But because of the caption I thought you were going to talk to us and let us know whether or not you got heat damage? Or if you had any regret?
I haven’t done a silk press before but I’m not interested in trying one because when I went natural in 2011, I got it straightened with a hot comb at a salon and it got heat damaged. Tbh there weren’t many natural hair salons then. I used one ORS temporary hair straightener some years ago and I liked the results. Might try it again if I feel like I want the relaxed hair look. Your hair is so full and kind and lush, Love it! What salon is this btw? They did a very thorough job. I like the fact that they used crocodile clips and I see a lot of top notch products on their shelf.

I’m surprised that this caused her damage. Did she not use heat protectant?
Why is it so stiff?
to get the best results you need to:
1. shampoo VERY well (maybe 2 times if you need to
2. deep condition/ use a hair mask
3. detangle
4. let you hair air dry to 40%
5. apply heat protection and the TINIEST amount of hair serum
6. blow dry to get your hair as straight a possible
7. flat iron using the chase method and make sure to work in tiny sections and and do 2-3 passes max.
8. optionally style n curl and apply hair spray
There shouldn't be much steam coming off of your hair. Steam means too much product and oil. That excess product will burn and potentially damage your hair more than the actual heat would.
the hairdresser didn't do most of these steps that's why it turned out so bad.
