    This is awesome. I used to wear a data bank calculator watch for years. I'll have to get one of the new ones to check out.

      Like Al Pacino said in the GodFather...."Just when I though I was out, they pull me back in."

      The three of us are around the same age. I’m sure you used know a dozen phone numbers by memory. I lived near the La Puente Mall as a kid and watched the Back to the Future Mall scenes being filmed. Thanks for the great review. Definitely need a calculator watch!

      Watching Hollywood take over an area is really interesting. I live about 15 miles from the “Yellowstone Ranch” from the Tv series Yellowstone. I mowed the property two doors down from where Kevin Costner was living during filming. The production absorbs a small town like Hamilton MT. The swag is everywhere and locals get their time as stand-in’s for scenes. As far as back to the future…I do remember that calculator watch, even though I didn’t like it, it’s seared into my memory. The updated versions are far better and the DBC-32 just might be the most usable…for now. I hope they continue to improve it and not discontinue it. They’ve kept the square…maybe we get Mayor Goldy Wilson to “save the watch calculator”

      @@Realidealgear Very cool about Yellowstone. Well back then I’m assuming you were pretty popular in school. I was somewhat popular also. And only the geeks and dweebs wore the calculator watch. I was rocking cool looking Swatches. You know like the blank one that didn’t even tell the time properly. Ha! Now that we are older, we now realize the geeks and dweebs had it right the whole time!

    Thank you for review, Tim! I enjoyed watching it. Having this watches for several years now and never got into a user guide that deep. It was quite interesting to know about alarms. Greetings from Kazakhstan! Subscribed!

    I have elf sized nimble fingers, yet the “back to the future“ watch is hard to use for me too… all those buttons definitely add to the vintage coolness factor though!
    have a good one Johan!

    So cool that you still have the old calculator watch!
    Too bad this hasn’t any water resistance…
    Still, it’s really cool!
    Thanks for this video!

    • @Realidealgear

      The lack of any water resistance is the only major issue with this watch. Have a great weekend my friend.

      No WR rating didn't stop 9yr old me who knew no better 😅 surprisingly, it's still *very* functional, mode button is a little depressed though.

    I put a leather strap on mine and it is quite comfy. Big fan of the auto light. Used it while dog walking to see my elapsed time on the stopwatch. The databank feature is a welcome insurance against cell phone failure or loss.

      I like the leather strap idea a lot. Consider it stolen. Have a great weekend.

    I remember these old watches. I had a Casio touch screen watch back in the 90's.
    And a 90's Casio TV remote control watch ^^

      The TV remote control Casio CMDD40F review is under way!! There are some very interesting retro Casios out there.
      Thanks for watching and have a great week.

      @@Realidealgear You too.
      I remember going into TV shops and annoying the hell out of people by turning the volume up on all the TV's. They didn't have a clue 😂

    All the information on your phone is synced to cloud if you set up the phone correctly. So you judt get any new phone, log in and all your data is there. Or you log in on a PC and also see all information and you can locate your lost phone, set it ringing, etc.

    • @Realidealgear
      @Realidealgear  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Understood. However, on the road access to those things is often limited to on existent. Statistically, damaged phones renders unusable (ie cracked screens that don’t respond to touch) are more likely than a lost phone.

    Hey bro! Look at that handsome young lad with his cool Casio! Could be a useful tool. I have yet to program mine though... I agree with you regarding most things but those buttons are too small for my fat fingers haha! I am so using this tutorial when I set mine! Thank you for making it! I did not know you could do constant numbers on it too! Look how terrible the rand is doing. 🥲If only it had proper water resistance you would have a great contender for a proper EDC watch! Hope you have a good one Tim! Be blessed bro!

    • @Realidealgear
      @Realidealgear  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agree with you 100%. That dude was a handsome young lad!
      I have to use my fingernails to press the buttons. The flat numeric pad of the DBC611 is easier for me to use.
      I thought you might like to see the Rand in video! If it had simple Water Resistance rating...golden! Take care and have a great weekend Johan.

      @johanvandersandt8904 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Realidealgear Appreciated the nifty touch! I agree 100% Maybe its harder as to make it water resistant not just because of the numerous buttons but the curved caseback? Still a great watch though! The DBC611 did look easier to use but I prefer the styling on the DBC-32. Thank you! Hope you have a great weekend yourself!

    I have DBC32. On a black mesh strap wears like a champ. The lack of feedback of the calculator buttons make the use of the calc function worse than the Casio CA-53WF which are protruded and spongy (easier to press with a finger nail). Overall the design is cool, and the geeky appeal is there.

    • @Realidealgear
      @Realidealgear  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Interesting take on the buttons. I also an not a fan of the DBC32 buttons. I actually prefer the DBC611's flat touch pad. For some reason I can press one button on that keypad than the 53's or 32's keypad. I'm with you on the geeky appeal. I get way more interactions with strangers when I wear a calculator watch...especially the CA53. It's an icon.

    Great video, watched it through to help out with algorythm. Will repeat my comment on F91W video though.... some things are best left in the past.... when the original calculator watch came out, I lusted after it. Typical of my parents, they let the hype die down and then they gave me one. Wore it proudly a year or two, but then got to 14 or 15 and wouldn't be seen dead in one lolol. Soon I got a Swatch and swore off digitals forever (sweet irony).
    Appreciate your enthusiasm for the watch, again, like your videos so watched the whole thing. However, not for me though I'll always remember the excitement of getting the original one after so much wanting.

      Thanks for watching! Is t it funny how impressions can last a long time. It’s been forty years since I’ve seen one on my wrist. This one will stay. I guess my initial impression has worn off. The DBC-611 is up next, the model I had in the mid 80s. I’m enjoying these reviews immensely. Take care!

    • @Realidealgear

    This wrist watch has water resist. I wear it many times when i went shower and it still working.

    • @Realidealgear
      @Realidealgear  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I share Casio's stated water resistance rating from their website. The link provided shows no WR rating. The manual doesn't indicate a WR rating, and the caseback has no WR rating. While I agree that I also have splashed water on the watch, I can't say there is one beyond what Casio says.
