When you say 'really old', just how old is this sim? I have it myself, but I've had it for ages without really delving into it. I have a wheel and pedals which really adds to the immersion.@MrJollyRoger
Nice idea for a series. Thank you random TH-cam recommendation. A few mods can really make the game more immersive. I haven't played vanilla in years. Greetings from Missouri, USA
I wouldn't mind seeing more of this. I like it. I used to make interior trim for Volvo and Northstar rigs. Also, parts for a lot of different forklifts and pieces for the tanks in the military. Lots of interesting stuff.
Hello Kev, ahh nice one. I watched a "how it's made" episode covering Volvo trucks, it's old now, you've probably seen it. I'm going to do a second episode and see if I can get some traction on the series.
Long time ETS player, been playing since ETS 1 and then Scania truck sim(SCS's lesser known game, but a good challenge). Ive got well over 1.1k hours in ETS2 can't count how many times ive restarted as i relish the kick off grind. I would love to see a series on this especially by a real driver. Im not a driver, but many of my family are, it's in the blood lol. Subbed for more. Ive never even tried Promods, ive heard so much about it for years but sounds like a pain. I can't play ETS without mods, i love modding this game as it's so easy :)
I just got the G293 steering wheel today, a very slightly updated version of the G29. I had a blast on this game and it brought me to find someone with a series of the game
Hello DrasticSkuba, ahhh nice one, I'm glad you are enjoying the game. If you have a webcam, I highly recommend the face tracking I use, which is free. It makes the game so much more immersive, and I've done a video with all the settings. Many other people have done the same. th-cam.com/video/r8eEoc2Cnj0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fJ9n_E5ORB9KzdT3 As for the mods, I highly recommend Jazzy Cat traffic packs, they make the game sooooo good. Cheers buddy, safe driving!
Ah, this is the series I wish I had the time to make ! I'm also an international lorry driver and used to be one of the beta testers for ETS2 so even after a week of slogging away behind the wheel, I still spend some of the limited free time I have to play. Commenting this at the very start of the video so hoping that your journeys go well and I am certain I'll enjoy the video/series 😊 (Will edit this comment with any thoughts/ additional comments at the end but I'm sure a fellow driver will feel the same as myself) *Aforementioned edit! - VERY LONG, MY APOLOGIES* - I'm sure you're familiar with various console commands, etc but if you're ever experiencing glitches/ crashes then don't hesitate to get in touch and I may be able to help resolve some of them. I can't guarantee that I can fix them all but I've had my fair share of troubleshooting to have a decent attempt! Agreed that ProMods is a faff to keep updated, especially when the game updates, other workshop mods update too but due to the nature of the games changes, PM may take several weeks to update which means that either A) forcing your game to downgrade to a compatible version but risk broken Workshop mods that delete and reupload rather than update the original- or B) have an unusable savegame which ruins a video series until everything has been updated, which usually only lasts up to 8 weeks or so at best. To counter those very compelling reasons to avoid it, ProMods is a phenomenal (free, to those wondering) mod which enhances and expands the game to an entirely new level, especially for the UK which, for the base game, is the oldest part of the map aside and aside from minor aesthetic upgrades for the release of ETS2, dates back to UKTS ! For AI car traffic, there are the Jazzycat packs however I'm not sure of the legitimacy of the models (regarding stolen/uncredites) as well as optimisation since previous mods have caused big lag spikes but this may have changed for the better recently. Lastly - in regard to the Renault Premium, hated those things to drive but damn they moved ! I'm sure Renault made a deal to get them all wound up past 90 as no matter what other truck I drove, I would always be overtaken by a Premium! The Magnums were lovely but two things I always noted- firstly, to begin with they made you feel a bit seasick, just from the way the cab was mounted. Secondly, you always had to remember you were in one because when you forgot that and then climbed out as if it were any other truck, you soon learnt with some bloody sore shins as a reminder ! 😂 Lastly, I always found the TGX to be a horrible thing to drive - the (auto) gearbox was so unresponsive, constant faults with the electrics and very stagnant in terms of keeping up to date with other brands, however despite not yet having the opportunity to drive one, I am liking what I see from the latest generation and think that they have taken great strides toward becoming an industry leader once again!
Hello Jacob, ahhh nice one, a fellow international trucker! That's amazing that you worked as a Beta Tester for the game. It's changed so much in the decade it's been out! Yes I used to have to use the console commands every now and then. Mainly to clear the traffic momentarily! With the updates, it is a bit annoying when a workshop mod goes down for a while. That was the reason I started playing ATS, so I could give ETS2 mods a chance to catch up haha. Yeah I've got Jazzycat traffic now, second favourite mod. Makes the world seem so much more believable. Ahhh I never drove a renault magnum, but yes I can imagine the floating cabin was hard to get used to. And trying to find that non existent cab ladder, my goodness you'd only do that the once!
I've just started it for the first time with a hard economy mod, having played ATS and been dripping in cash, so I wanted something more grounded. £151 to deliver from Dortmund to Dover. Heck yeah!
Just come across this would love the to see this as a series also if you do a series could you put what mods your using as i struggle to find good one cheers 😊
Hello Lee, ahhh cheers buddy. Yep the series is up and running now. With the mods, what I'm going to do is wait until I've made sure they all work well and there's no conflicts. So far: ProMods JazzyCat ai packs Realistic Mirror FOV OpenTrack (facetracking) Sound Fixes Pack FAEL environment D.Bs Traffic AI Mod More to come!
@@MrJollyRoger Awesome! I would love both of them as a series :) I know I can't have everything lol love them both equally I just mentioned the ATS b/c of the new DLC next week. Have a great rest of your week!
Hello Finley, unfortunately the views just aren't there mate, and when it takes so much effort, then gets £0.11 of revenue per episode and a load of thumbs down by subs who want Indie games, it's really painful buddy. I might try again in the future, but I'll need to use a completely different approach so that it doesn't divide subscribers so clearly.
Hello Riskw, ahhh cheers for giving Jolly a try! I think the roads are fairly unrealistic, especially in the older parts of the map on ETS2, I do like the trucks, but wish there were a few more, preferably older ones, and as for ATS, a brilliant game for sure, I just prefer Europe as I used to drive lorries all over it haha.
@@MrJollyRoger meanwhile thanks for replying and giving your thoughts brother, i also have similar thoughts of you, anyway, which truck you are driving in real life brother
WARREN!!! Hello buddy, haha not at all. Your stream with AsqRob just got me wanting to jump in again. Hope you had a good time. Once I've got all the mods sorted, and I can rely on them, I'll dm them over so that you can improve your experience mate.
Finally someone Playing euro truck simulator 2 in 2023! I recently bought the game and i love it
Hello FancyMover, yes it's an excellent game for sure. Really old, but yeah, lots to do for sure!

There’s a mod on the steam workshop that’s a used truck mod. You also should look at the cabin accessories DLC
Hello Andrew, cheers for that. I did try it but unfortunately it crashed the game.
Hey Jolly, do you have the American one? The new Oklahoma DLC is coming on the 1st of Aug would love to see that :)
Hello Lisa, yes I certainly do. I love ATS. I can't remember how much DLC I'd got for it, but I'll look into it after work tonight.

do you use an eye/head tracker? or just directional keys to look around the cabin?
Hello Mura, I use open-track, it's free head tracking software that uses a webcam. Highly recommend it
