This isn't very different from how I grew up in rural western Washington. Beers, bikes, and bonfires. They may have had a little appalacian white lightning though.
Saw this on vhs when it not been released yet. My friend, Steve ( RIP), was friends with the filmmaker and he had loaned him a copy. Damn, that was about 40 yrs ago. I'm old now.
I live in Kanawha County WV, maybe 30-45 minutes away from Boone County. We still go mudding to this day. Mainly on side by sides and older Jeep Cherokees from the 90's
I've lived all America. Catawba county/Boone NC is probably one of the BEST places I've lived & all that rascist nonsense the media pushes isnt true in my personal experience. I would see confederate flags but they would also be playing Tupac, Metal &;country. I didn't meet rascist folk when i lived there. Just kind, hard working Americans doing there best like anyone else. Saludos desde Flagstaff Arizona 🌵🇲🇽📿🕯☦️🕯🇺🇸🌵
There was something about the woman in the pickup I liked . they all looked like folk this guy would have like to have hung around with in my younger years.
I grew up/lived most of my life in rural NY, 100 miles north of NYC. The accents are different, the recreation is the same. All you need is some beer, an internal combustion engine powering a form of conveyance and some property to play on. It doesn't get any better than that. Many of my friends at 55 - 60 years old are still at it, they range from pretty damn wealthy to pretty damn poor. It doesn't matter, find something to drive and get it to the field we're going to have some fun.
