- Hello everyone! Got another chatty video for you! These days you just can’t shut me up. I’ve been playing around with my new Kuretake Art Nouvea watercolor set, and this time I’ve chosen to stay within the pink hue. I also tried a new technique for lines, which…..still needs a bit of improvement. But I’m excited to share this process with me and I hope you enjoyed watching! See you next week! XO, B.

Please don't be to hard to yourself. This painting is absolut beautiful and an inspiration for us. Thank's and hug from Germany. 🫶🙏
I’m old. But my mother was older. She called this color Ashes of Roses, which I always thought was very romantic, and I’ve always loved it.
I love the bottom part it looks like petals of a flower
Your two previous works are so cute. The one does look like potatotes with eyes, and the blue and yellow looks like it has lots of legs. Love the pink work, it's gorgeous!
I was wondering if someone would mention the eyes on the potatoes, haha!
Yes, me! All 3 potatoes had rather surprised eyes looking out at us 😂
@@xVentax 😂😂😂
i love the pinks
Love the colours here, Bettina.
Yes….as you described your thoughts to us about the Neurographic lines towards the end of the video in your summing up , I could actually sense that was what you were thinking.
I really do enjoy listening to you talk through the process and thoughts about what is happening …or not…. 🤪🤗
It is reassuring and encouraging to hear you describe your thoughts which resonate with so many of us.
I think this is why so many of us connect with you and can relate to your work.
🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔😄
I actually LOVE this Pretty in Pink artwork 🥰 The pink and gold together are luscious and the completed piece brought me joy 😊
And the image that came to mind was, “clam shell” 😁
Love that!
Yes !!! Clam shell !! 🤗🤗
I love pink and brown tones together and so I love this work and the process. I especially appreciate your thoughts at the end…what you liked and didn’t, what you might do differently the next time. It’s perfectly ok and natural to not love every piece equally and to even not like a piece at all. That’s how we learn and improve. Thank you for your honesty on that.
I love this SO much! I know what you mean about having a hard time not rounding off the corners.
I would love to see how you did the other ones and I will check to see if you made another one and added a yellow wash. Thank you so much for talking about your thoughts as you worked on this. It’s so helpful and encouraging and I’m so inspired by you!
Thank you! I did post one, using yellow after this one, so if you haven't already found it, here it is 😊 th-cam.com/video/y4lhrxSIEGc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pVmJ6VtsG5SThHTc
Personally I love this painting, the doodling and the challenge of working with just different hues of one colour. Fabulous work. 💕🌸🍒
Thank you so much! 💕
I absolutely adore all of the varying shades of pink. I’m sorry it didn’t turn out the way you had hoped. I would love to see what you have on the two pieces you shared.
I get over it pretty quickly, haha! Also, I posted the blue green one a bit later, if you want to go find it.
I just love this! The gold pen is beautiful , so lovely and fine. Stop putting yourself down, it's beautiful ❤️ xxxxx
Thank you! I'm just reacting in the moment, I get over it pretty quickly 😆
@@_bettina_fernandez_ ❤️❤️💐🫂😊
I think it's wonderful
I love pinks. All pinks. So I love this so much :)
Thank you! It's growing on me 😊
Love this and thank you so much
It’s funny how we all like different things…. I absolutely love the pink. I’d have that on my wall no problem at all. I think it’s stunning 🇦🇺
Love your painted potatoes. Love your art. You’re sense of humor is also adorable. You are truly inspiring. 💙🦋
Haha, thank you so much! I'm glad to hear it 😊
Your videos are lovely and so inspiring! I’m new to watercolor and art in general, and it’s so nice to see you play and have fun.
Love! You are my new favorite person to watch! I doodle. This came out so pretty!
GORGEOUS! Luv your creations! ❣️
Thank you so much!
I love it. It is soothing and monochromatic. A good example.
Loved the process and your experimentation. Loved the pink and sepia and gold. And really, really appreciated that you talked through how you felt about the result and the choices you made along the way. One of the most helpful things I've seen, Bettina. I loved how it came out, and your other pieces too - all of this together is such wonderful encouragement for our own experimentation. ❤
I like the sepia lines in this one. Do try it with the yellow added.
I'm working on one that has a little of the yellow added and some rose-ish gold. It's got a completely different feel, and I'm curious to see what it's going to look like once the lines are added. I'll probably post it this week.
the pink background is so pretty!
I love it, as is!
I thnk this one is BEAUTIFUL!!! I actually like it much better than the other one. Lovely!
It is so fabulous watching your creativity… and thoughts. The colours are beautiful and fascinated to see you create another piece in this style which makes you excited. Thank you as always for taking the time to share❤
Aww, thank you so much! To be honest, I didn't think so many would love the softer pinks! I'm fascinated by all the comments coming in! Glad you enjoyed the video 💕
your art is so inspiring!!! love it so much! will try to do it soon...💖
Going to comment at the end now. I learned new things from watching you and i cant wait to try them too. I love that pink - all of it! The whole pic is right up my alley. Just gorgeous. Ill be watching all your videos now ❤️🥰
😍😊 you're so sweet!
Love it!!💕
I found you by accident and so far I’ve watched 2 videos. Your approach to the process is so (I want to say innocent but not sure that is the word I’m looking for.) well dang I can’t think of the word I want. Unencumbered I think is closer to it. You’re a pleasure to watch. Looking forward to more.
How sweet of you, thank you so much! Well, I hope you'll stay a while, I have a feeling there will be so much more to come 😉
I love it! I’m so glad I found your channel! ❤️
Aww, welcome! 😊
Im halfway thru the video and have to say im just loving this pic and the way you video. Your quiet music and your chatting with us as you paint. Im loving it all and will sub to your channel. I ordered the Art Nouveau WC set back on May 23 from Blick and its STILL on back order yntil end of September. I seriously dont think i will ever get it. Thanks for sharing your videos. ❤❤
Thank you! What a sweet comment! I do hope you'll get it soon and will be able to play with it. I'm having so much fun mixing those colors!
It’s beautiful! The pink goes very well with the gold.💖💖💖
Thank you! 💕
Potato!!!! Just found your channel and I was mesmerised, love it. TYFS💕
Yay! Thank you! And thanks for humoring me 🥔😆
Watching and listening to your process through this piece has been very informative and I loved the whole video.
Aww, thanks so much! I appreciate it 💕
I loved this one!
Thank you!
Trying new techniques is what practicing art is. This was another good one.
Exactly. I'm learning that as long as I do what brings me joy, it's all good. I appreciate your comment 💕
I loved how you talked your entire way through your process. And personally, I think it came out wonderful!! Love the different shapes and textures and of course, your great doodles! Rock On!!
Thank you! I'm getting used to talking more and letting you hear my process. It's hard, but learnable. 😊
I loved watching this process in pink . Yes I would like to see the process doing the previous 2 pieces.
I saw some new techniques. Thank you
Thank you kindly! I started editing it, but then I started working on my recent upload and got distracted 😆 I might post it next week
I love the bottom part! This was inspiring for me because I get stuck when I'm trying to doodle
It's so funny, because as I'm replying to your comment, I see another comment saying they don't like the bottom part. I love hearing everyone's thoughts on my pieces. Thank you for your input 💕
Wow!! So pretty! I love it. I definitely feel it.
It turned out pretty anyway. I love all 3 pieces. 😊 The second one with the thinner lines is really pretty.
Thank you! 😊💕
Lovely work shape, colors…
Thank you so much 😀
I understand what you are saying, I'm not even a pink lover but I think this piece is gorgeous and I'm feeling it. Thanks for your videos. 🙂
Thank you 💕 It's growing on me 😊
I love the colours...Pink sepia and gold. Its funny how we have the habit of outlining things. Must be ingrained in us from playing with colouring books.
May we all learn how to colour outside the lines!!!
Your approach to keeping the initial background simple and not so controlled (switching to left hand etc) is what I have learned from this. So thank you.
Yes, it's so true! I'm not giving up on the all pink just yet. I'm gonna keep playing around 😊 glad you enjoyed it!
♥️It!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Thank you so much and welcome to my little art corner! 💕
I know this is an older video im new to your channel. I like this piece! ❤
Why a common potato? That was so fun and relaxing to watch. Your voice is so nice to listen to while you create something so beautiful. Thank you for the ideas and inspiration. Just what I needed tonight.
When you said you ordered a new tool, it tied in with what I was thinking when you were applying the lines with the bottle dropper tip. I just purchased a brass dip pen nib by Kakimori that I'm eager to try & this looks like a good place for its first use. Depending on the angle, it does very thin to extremely thick lines & holds a tremendous amount of ink in its long grooves, so you can do a very long line, larger circle, go back over to double line, add dots, etc.
I will look into that! I couldn't remember what it was called but now that I have it, mine is a ruling pen? I will be using it in my next video. I just tried it and it works, but I also ordered a pen with different size nibs, I can try out, just to give myself some options. Thank you for sharing!
Very soft and lovely. Is this your typical preferred method of painting? Do you do other watercolors like landscapes? You have a thoughtful, pretty style. I love using the Bee wc paper too! Affordable and decent cotton. Where did you find that fabulous palette? Love all the different size sections! Thank you for recording this beautiful painting! :)
Many thanks Bettina! I very much enjoyed this! You have such a lovely voice! And thank you so much for listing the art products you used! Hugs from Hawaii💚🌈🌺🙋♀️
Aww, mahalo! I'm slowly getting used to talking more, and I'm relieved to hear only I find my voice weird, haha! A big aloha to you and the people of Hawai'i 💕
@@_bettina_fernandez_ mahalo!💙✨️
Potato! I absolutely love that piece, pink is my favourite colour so I think I’m biased 😊
Haha, I crack up when people comment potato! Thank you for humoring me! 💕 I like to work with different colors, even ones that aren't necessarily my favorites. It keeps me on my toes, and sometimes I even love it! It just goes to show, that not limiting yourself to just the colors you feel comfortable with, will open your artistic horizons! Plus, there will be something nice to watch for everyone 😊
I think it’s lovely 😊
Thank you 💕
Potato😆🥔
This piece is just lovely. Don't forget that sometimes we as artists are our own worst critic. And as we stare at our work in the process it becomes so familiar that it then turns into something old and less inspiring in our minds. But others truly love it.
It's simply beautiful.
I agree with the "others love it" idea. Pink isn't really my color, but this was so good looking, I would try to do something like it to give to a pink loving friend.
You are so correct! And I often get over my initial feelings I express in my videos. I think I'm way too close to a piece, while I'm working on it. And after some time passes and I look at it again, I usually like it. Some colors I revisit more than others, this soft pink will definitely get another chance 😊 Thank you for your kind comment 💕
What a lovely idea 🩷
I really like this piece. I love the challenge of tonal value. Thanks for the inspiration of using acrylic ink for lines. I just bought 12 colours, and didn't really know how to best use them😂
Thank you! You know, I didn't realize I could use them for this either! I'm so glad I grabbed it and tested it out, because I think it's opened up new ways for me to create! I can always get actual ink once I've used up this bottle. Maybe we can figure out even more different ways on how to use them! 😊
Love that you call it a potato
😆😆😆
I love your work and am delighted to have discovered your channel. Potato rocks, hmmm that made me giggle! I like the washed down sepia ink look. Great videos.
Welcome! I'm so glad you're here! You know, I just got some nibs and a nib holder and I've been practicing with them, and so far I love it! And as a bonus, hopefully it'll cut down on plastic waste. I don't like throwing all those dead pens in the trash. Thank you so much for the tip!
It looks beautiful i love the potatoes drawing.
😆 thank you!
Your art is new to me - this is quite wonderful! And pink -I am not necessarily drawn to pink as a choice but I love this!!!! thank you
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you found me! I've been bouncing around a lot, exploring different mediums, styles and techniques and I'm slowly figuring out what brings me joy! So many possibilities!!!
Haha, Potato! I did like the potatoes more, I think. 😊
😆
Potaoe… love your doodling. New subscriber 👍🏻👍🏻
Haha 🥔! Thanks for making me chuckle. Welcome to my little art corner!
I really like the result of rolling the brush. The sepia lines looked nice. Not as stark a contrast as the black lines.
I do agree more random lines would have given you a much different look, but I did like the end result.
If you are looking at dip pens with separate nibs, A "Nikko G" nib is a good nib to start with. It's much more forgiving than the more flexible nibs. A glass dip pen is nice for uniform lines.
Thank you so much! I ordered a ruling pen which arrived and I just tried out, and then I also ordered a pen with different size nibs, which I'm still waiting on. I'll be using the first one in my next video and see if it's giving me the effect I'm looking for. Thanks so much for the recommendations!

Potato potata. 🤣 Absolutely delightful. You have a very melodic voice, too. I truly enjoyed the process & dialogue throughout. I subscribed. 😊

Hello Jacqueline! Thank you so much! I'm still getting used to hearing my own voice, so it's reassuring to hear others don't run for the hills when they hear me speak, haha! Welcome to my little art corner 💕
I just love it🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
Well watching you for the very first time, I think you are being too hard on yourself. I am a doodler from way back. You are certainly right about using the same designs in your art. That is OK because they all seem to take a look of their own. I am not a watercolor artist at all, I just doodle because it relaxes me.
I love the way the pink one turned out. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for that comment. I react on impulse and will often change my mind after. It's all part of my process. I don't take myself too seriously. I'm all about having fun. 😊
Awesome work❤💞💖💜❤💞💖💞💖💜❤👏💜👏💞👏💞💕💞💞
Thank you 💕🙏🏻
I had to laugh when you said "potatoes"...but I love them!
😆 once I see things in my paintings, I can't ignore it. I'm glad others get a chuckle out of it as well 🤭💕
I'll be interested in your new pen tool. I've been considering one for the same use as you.
I'll be using it in this upcoming video this Friday! It's called a ruling pen? I haven't quite got the hang of it, and so I also got a nib pen just to see which ones suit me better. Either way, I'm having fun playing around with them 😊
I kept seeing a woman's head...like the pink...not the sepia so much. You ate fun to watch and listen to.
I can’t tell which pen you mention in the supply list was the gold pen. I love your doodles!
Whoops! I will update the list and add it shortly! Must have slipped past me
Actually, I just checked and it's there. It's this one:
Sakura - Pen-Touch Paint Marker - Extra Fine 0.7mm - Gold - 3 Pack amzn.to/3Ygkg3b
❤
Do you prep your paper with any type of clear gesso to help the paper from buckling or warping? Mine, no matter what type of paper I use, warps all the time.
Potatoe! 😊
You amaze me. I'm learning so much from you, sweet woman. 💜 🥔
Aww, thank you! Glad to be of inspiration 💕😊
❤️🌹
Thank you 💕
I think pink is a hard colour to work with , as I started to see organs and the lines became veins and some doodles started to look like spike protein. I think I may have PSTD…I agree that the yellow paint first, would have helped make the difference.
You know, you are not wrong! Haha! I did one with the yellow added, and while it was changing the values of the pinks quite a bit, it feels fresher. I'll be posting it Friday, and I hope you'll watch and let me know how you like it! 😊
🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔
Potato 🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔
I love this but I don’t like the harsh lines at the bottom. The pink already had beautiful lines at the bottom. Love the doodle
I was struggling with the bottom part as well. Thank you for your comment 💕
Nice, ya it’s missing a yellow maybe. Nice tho.
Potato 🥔
Haha, yay!!
Is it me I put it on subtitles and god now I need glasses to even read it
😆 gurl. You and me both. 🤓
Potato 😂
Try turning the painting around. Flip it upside down. Try cutting off the part you don’t like and use it as a bookmark…..
I often cut up & use the best parts as greeting card fronts.
I need to remember to do that! I like the card option! Thank you!
Potato 😅
😆😆 I'm cracking up over here
To me it looks to much like a face and I can’t get past it, but I like your process a lot. You
😆 I get it.
A dip pen and sepia markers may be interesting to use. The gold looks nice with the sepia ink❤. Very pretty piece
Yes! I just.ordered a couple of different options and I will try the first one in my next video! Thanks for those recommendations!
