Buakaw would start walking on guys faces if he got them tired and beat up enough. Left, right, left, right......seen him do it in multiple fights. Amazing speed, flexibility, and timing.
lol I went to my first class today and the guy had me try these. my leg strength and balance is so bad that I felt like I was going to fall over everytime. going to keep at it!
I once had my jaw broken by a frontside Thai teep to my face while in a fight a few years ago. It really is an effective kick for both defense and offense.
Pause at 1:16 on PC and tap the period (aka >) key to easily see what's going on. That front teep takes some groin flexibility if I try to twist my anchored foot sideways like that. He almost finishes in a half roundhouse position. Maybe in a couple months the side split attempts will get me flexible enough. (6'-2" 175 lbs and my flexibilty has always been an issue. ) It's also nice to see how he steps his back foot to his front foot when initiating the kick, gaining position and forward momentum. Helps to see when and how far he leans back too.
Ay bro got any stretches specifically for that it’s hard to do that shit for me too on the back leg because it hurts idk if I’m doing it right but maybe learning the side kick first fucked with my muscle memory
Does the front foot have to turn away to not hurt the front leg knee? Cause if you are pushing forward and pivoting, it’s like you’re heel hooking yourself
TIP: Do not look at the raised leg with your eyes before the teep, and once you raise your leg, quickly commit to it, or otherwise, your muay Thai opponent may telegraph your intent and block that teep, then likely with a sweep and take you down to the mat. Which you do not want. Look at the opponent's eyes and chest before and when actually doing the teep. After the teep is successful, you can run up to do the flying knee finish on the opponent.
Might be a dumb question but here goes. Are you trying to land the kick with the ball of the foot or with the heel? Or the whole foot? Does it even matter if the kick is well placed?
Use the ball of your foot. It does matter where it lands (above the waistline). These kind of kicks to the knee are called obliques and are discouraged and frowned.upon.
Tae kwon do front kicks are more snappy while Muay Thai teeps are better for shoving opponents away. Think of like a punch vs a push. The teep in general is superior though, the hip action creates way more stopping power
Perfecting the basic strikes I love it. fighters like buakew have some simple techniques but yet performed so perfectly cause a hell lot of damage
That's why coaches like Trevor Wittman advice fighters to stay with the basics, they are key for massive damage.

Buakaw is peak human.
i love the straight-forwardness of muay thai kickboxing
This technique is perfect for guys wanting to hold superior strikers at bay. Of course in addition to punches and feints. 👊
Love feinting it…easy 1 or 2 after that 😂
This definitely improved my teep kick. Thank you!

Thanks for this! New to the game and simple explanations like this are beyond helpful!
Sweet. I love how simple ur videos are.
Ok my question is answered. A teep is just a push kick
Literally what its called gnf
But with the balls of ur feet not ur whole foot
what about explaining about hip thrusting forward for more power? that needs to be specifically explained for newbies
Pretend like your fucking a girl and thrust your hip forward. It’s so self explanatory
Awesome instructional!
Best teep tutorial !

Thanks for posting. Great tutorial for those looking to improve their technique.
Nice. My balance felt different as i bring back my leg
Practice in front of a mirror and work on staying balanced. A good coach can help you adjust.
Thank you for this video, answered all of my questions! 😊👊

My problem was lifting the chambered leg too high... just hip height as with any kick

Is the teep always done with the forward leg?

@@cg9608 thank you
Im new. Why is he dropping his left hand on the front teep?
Swinging your arm gives you more momentum
Otis McDonald is the artist that made this song playing
knee slight pain during push or extensionhow to avoid that
The leg im kicking with gets really stiff when i do this which doesn’t make me kick high, any help?
Great video, whats the name of the intro music?
I believe it is Phife for Life.
@@Muaythaipros You're right, thank you so much made my day🙌
THIS IS SPARTA
How to make the incoming teep less obvious? I mean what do we do to make the teep to be more unpredictable?
Set up with punches or feints
Yo, what’s the intro & out to song called?
What's the difference of the muay thai teep vs taekwondo front kick?

Teep kick to the opponents front lead leg...your heel will land on their quad muscle...its a mean charlie...
Can someone help me? My hips are popping when I'm doing this. Thanks!
Maybe talk to a Physiotherapist if you have hip issues.
If you’re skinny it might be because you don’t have enough muscle around the joint. I have that issue with hips and shoulders
@@jackrowley2218 Ahhhh shit I might have this
