This was really helpful, I live near the ferries so my bricks are very much like yours and would like to have them clean, Im in the process of buying my home so like you as soon as the scaffolding goes up I will also start on my bricks so thanks alot for this, cant wait to see the vlog on your brick cleaning

3:1 acid ratio is incredibly strong. Have there been any staining present after you cleaned them? For example iron oxide staining (rust) will develop at a 3:1 ratio, depending on the iron content used when the bricks were being formed. As a rule 10:1 for dark coloured brickwork and 20:1 for light coloured bricks.

Awesome video, subscribed! 👍Also, would sodium hypochlorite not be a good chemical for a job like that as well?

Hi there, what was the cost of just the brick cleaning on this job? Have an almost identical sized property and Just been quoted £4250 for just the doff cleaning excluding scaffolding and repointing. Seems crazy high. Tempted to hire the equipment and do it myself

Just the cleaning was 100£ in acid. 200£ for pressure washer. Took 2 days. Yeah thats ridiculous think some trades think they are hedgefund day rates nower days. Fairplay to them tho if they are getting 2k day rate to pressure wash😂

@@havesomevision would a cold power washer work with acid? Tuck pointing with lime looks very good if you are going to repoint!

Can still be done! Next door neighbours was painted. May need to use a paint stripper acid first

Qualified brick cleaner here, find someone who does dustless blasting in your area, they should be able to strip back paint on brickwork without the need for chemicals
