Got my nephew an Xbox I’m signed in as home Xbox on his Xbox, does he have to be signed in on mine? When we both are on my Xbox says duplicate session open

i got a question man, i want to play cold war but it saids that i need to buy it even when my friend has it
I have done this before with a buddy, but if someone could confirm this let me know. If I am going to file share with a buddy, if he has an online account and I do not, can we split the online subscription? When I did this before I currently didn't have online, but he did. I couldn't figure out why when I got the Series X my gamertag wasn't working. Turns out because I was file sharing I was using my gamertag however was technically using his subscription to get online. Does this still work? If so gonna split the cost of MW3 and once me or buddies subscription ends file share and split that cost.

@@mikeluttorfrom my experience, you can share game pass but only on one of the consoles. I have an SX in the living room and a SS in the bedroom. My account has GP ultimate and is set to home Xbox on the S while my Wife’s account is set to home on the X. She can play game pass on her account on the S but not the X. Meanwhile I can use gamepass on both. We can both share purchased games on both.

Hey, thanks for the amazing guide. I have question if you have to keep the option on for "make this my home xbox" or you can disable it once you game share
Your welcome! And it has to stay enabled. Once disabled , you will lose connection with your game share

When I did this with my brother and tried to play games at the same time it wouldn’t let us we could only play one at a time even tho he was on his and I was on mine
This is odd. Because me and my brother can play at the same time along with others. May have to re set it and try again
Have your brother have your account on my home Xbox you shouldn't have that on yours or it won't work

Anyone out there that has this”glitch“ where they have game shared with multiple people in the past and now have access to all their downloadable games and Xbox live from the previous accounts game shared? I’m so confused and thankful but I have games from 2 different accounts that I have not purchased but belongs to the gameshared accounts. It’s even under the owned games tab for me and I asked one of them if they bought a certain game and they said yes and I was able to download that same exact game with out sharing and it worked. It looks like the last 2 accounts I made my home Xbox to my account stayed and is still currently giving me access to whatever they buy. (Currently not game sharing with anyone ) Am I the only one?

I think you don’t share save files and achievements.
Achievements should be different

It’s the same, you could even split the price and get gamepass for cheaper

@Thecoachknows yeah we figured it out, basically we had to make each others accounts our homs xbox, forgot to delete this comment, by the way extra note for the viewrs, you can also share xbox live or xbox game pass this way

i did all the steps, signed them in an made them the home xbox on mine an they signed into mine an we both made the homexbox switch an then when we did, the games didn’t show up for eachother? we just switched xbox’s an the games went with it? it kinda wasted my switch

My brother just got an Xbox, we were worried he would have to buy everything himself but this worked perfect! I have one more brother who is getting an Xbox, do you know if this trick will work with three accounts?
