  • That was one of the best experiences in my whole life! I came across this Ferrari absolutely randomely in the early Saturday morning. The owner was an extremely nice guy and after a while he offered me a ride in the unique, absolutley stunning 166MM Barchetta. There had been produced 25 of them, but only half a dozen in this body. This car has got unique colour scheme - blue and green. The history of this Ferrari is intersting as well, it used to be Gianni Agnelli's car (head of Fiat at that time), then it was owned by Gery d'Hendecourt. 166MM is a winner of Mille Miglia, 1949; 24 hours Le-Mans (235 laps, 3178.299 km).
In the car you sit very low, got no seatbelts and the wind blows directly into your face, the windshields are not really helping :), that gives an abolutely fantastic feelings and emotions, which I have never experienced and not sure ever will...
i would really want to kindly thank the owner, because he gave me one of the best experience in my entire life.
    Camera: Sony XR160
Thanks for watching and sorry for not the best filming in the world, there were not much space in the cabin =)

I and many people would like to watch more of this time-machine driving. It's more and better than modern super cars.

Great experience; thanks for sharing it. I am lucky enough to have some old-Ferrari memories from my childhood and this certainly evokes them but I never got to ride in something quite this stunning! That blue paint is breathtaking.

I fire up the willing engine,
    Responding with a roar.
    Tires spitting gravel,
    I commit my weekly crime...

When I was 16 yrs old, I came with my father and my brother at a car museum in south of France, a 1962 250 GTo was temporary exposed and there was nobody but us in the museum.. the director offered me to sit in the gto.. I still have 2 pictures of this experience... last year at the age of 30, I've bought my very first Ferrari..

The interiors in wood and metal are beautiful. They make even the interiors of cars like the 458 look like cheap plastic... -- the day cheap plastic came to the car industry was when cars really started looking bland and terrible. It's only now in the 2010s have they fully recovered from that.

+ventolin63 Or you could argue that it's an incredibly rare handmade piece by touring superleggera, landmarking the earliest days of one of the greatest car manufacturers of all time. It's incredibly beautiful, and it's got an incredible history, it's something you value alongside artwork and not other cars, because it's infinitely more than the sum of its parts.
Or you could be boring and just say that given Ferrari prices, this may have been a 3 million dollar car in 2013, but it comes closer to 9 million in 2015, no 3 houses will give you that kind of return in so short a time. I'd very happily live in a 200 grand apartment if it had a garage to keep my Ferrari 166.
Think about it this way, if you had one, you could enjoy spending 5 or 10 years driving one of the most beautiful cars ever made, and when it comes to selling it, you could set yourself, and your children, and partly your grandchildren, up for life. Think about that next time you talk shit about a subject you don't understand.
