    Have you ever wondered what its like to own a self serve car wash? What are some of the daily struggles at the car wash? Broken high pressure guns, water leaks, abandoned cars and even replacing new wand holders so they dont keep breaking off. As much as the car washes have their benefits they also can be a bit of work.
    There are pros and cons to every business so in this video I wanted to show you some of the day to day functions of what needs to be done in order to keep the car wash business running at its fullest potential.
    I also share my plans on installing my in bay automatic drive through car wash which will be an initial up front investment but should pay itself off in 6-12 months so will end up being a great investment.
    After working for my Uncle for 2 years at he's car washes I really wanted my own and I came across this car wash. It was completely shutdown for many years so I approached the owner of the land and made a deal with him.
    It took me 6 weeks to bring it back to life and open it and now the customers are starting to pour in. Not to mention I opened it during winter so I am yet. to see its full potential but here's a small taste of how its going so far!

    Dope video! Two things, 1: A Toyota Tacoma tailgate is only rated for 200 pounds, that’s why they are made to come off easily. Just find where the cable attaches to the truck and while lifting the tailgate a little push out the tab on the pear shaped ring to slide those off, then lower the tailgate all the way and it will slide towards you. B: Get yourself a RotoHammer with SDS bits!!! Wayyyyyyyy better than a hammer drill. Your back/shoulders/wrists/arms will thank you. Cheers 🍻

    Gooday Chris - another great video!!! I just had a response from an owner who got a note under their door (gee, I wonder where I learned that idea from?) and will meeting up with him this week!!! That being said, can you please consider making a video on the following: how you structure your payment methods in paying yourself relating to withholding for taxes, when you actually pay yourself (after the previous month’s books are done, every week, etc), and what legal entity you use for ownership of the car washes? I’m getting momentum and want to be as prepared as possible with as much research as possible. You’re the only TH-camr who is offering this much value in the SS arena!!!!

      Thank you!! That’s awesome!! Congrats on getting a call from taking action. I can’t give out tax advice as I’m no where close to certified but I would talk to an accountant if I were you about entities n such. I personally use an S Corp. not too difficult to set up but would start on that first thing if you come to an agreement on a deal.

    I set a hand truck on the ground where I'm going to drop the drum, which I try to land on the flat lifting part of the hand truck. This lets the barrel move away from the tailgate with no chance that it will tip over. The last thing I need to do is pick up a barrel off its side (Much more important with a 55 gallon drum).

    I am thinking having sensors to detect wet floors would be helpful. I know they have these devices because I had them once through Hippo Insurance for Homeowner's Insurance. Maybe next level would be a sensor that shuts off the water main when there is a leak in the equipment room.

    Great video. Probably your best addendum video to what you’ve done so far. The density of material over the time of the video is excellent! Keep it up. BTW, I took my own advice & created a google maps list of the car washes in my area, & starting to add closed locations to follow up on. Do you record the locations you leave a note for or have a follow up system?

    • @CarWashChronicles
      @CarWashChronicles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the great feedback! Your system sounds a lot better than mine. I just keep a bit of paper with the addresses written down that I dropped notes at. No actual follow up method. I usually do it once a year incase they are in a better position to sell.

    I just met the landlord for my first car wash, it has been dormant for about 5 years. Had a car dealer using it to detail cars, but no retail wash. Told him I would sign a 15 year lease. Have no idea what it’s going to take to get it all working. It’s only about 10 years old, at a chevron c store. The store operator had no idea how to maintain it, so when they had a leak or whatever just shut that bay down.

    I'd look into a tow service to stop people from abandoning vehicles. Most are 24hr and shouldn't take more then a couple hours max to come and get the vehicle. All they'll do is post a sign that says no parking then the ordinance for the violation and number to call about the vehicle. Should be free to you too.

    Bother just a few though as to the ruined DVR you should get a Waterproof Lockable DVR box . They run about 100-200 dollars and can be mounted so that if you ever have a massive leaks your electronics are protected . Also normally with abandoned cars like that you should call local law Enforcement more that likely that car was stolen. They would of come taken a report and towed the car from your lot for free and you wouldn’t of had to wait forever for a tow company to show .

Not very big at all really small was surprised he ask $1.4. Can you create a video in how to talk too car wash owners so I don’t sound stupid and get to a straight point. I don’t think this owner was even making close to $100k a year.

    • @CarWashChronicles
      @CarWashChronicles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just know every deal isn’t for you. I’m sure if the car wash was rundown not earning much unless he was selling a big block of land as well then asking 1.4 mil he just simply Doesn’t want to sell unless it’s for a ridiculous amount. It helps to educate yourself on the language of business like leasing, gross, net, NNN. Comes with practice also so move on from that one and look for a desperate seller.

      The guns range from like $18-$40. I guess I could try the $40 ones and see how they go but it’s more the customers throwing them on the ground/running over them so I doubt the more expensive ones could survive any better. It’s not that often anyway I need to replace them anyway.
