The Labyrinth Zone Boss is the one from the Game Gear & Master System versions (with an added air bubble mechanic).

fyi the best Robotnik boss is in Underground Zone (8-bit Sonic 2) which starts with Robotnik saving Sonic from certain death.
Which I guess means all this stuff is just elaborate foreplay or something.

A lot is based off the game gear games, (labyrinth is from sonic 1 game gear, final zone is from triple trouble.)
