This lens is criminally underrated. It flares if you even think about the sun, and there's some distortion... but the handing and build are spectacular, and the image quality is fantastic. It's particularly well made for the A7C line because of the form factor. A7C sells itself on the size... then people put facken volkswagen sized lenses on it and kill it. I switched systems now, but the 35/2.8 ZA and this little 50 lived in a 3L crossbody with the A7C for a long time. Super nice shots 💪
I have both. Given the same focal length (I use Tamron lens), A7C2 shot is much sharper and has much better autofocus. Definitely more room for post editing. Whereas the X100's "defects" provide better film look/color by default.
thanks bro appreciate it. fuji has made me realize that sony is only good at specs. fuji is good at making you feel a certain way. both have their time and place. it’s tough to say which i like better, surprisingly. if the x100vi was FF it would have been the answer.
I am working on some picture profiles in camera to produce nice looking JPEGs. Check out my latest video that I made. All JPEGs with no post processing. Will release soon once I work out a few more things.
Hi Xhynet, I have this combination and just got the lens today. Could you get the auto magnification in MF to work. Or does this only work with sony lenses? Focus Magnifier works but I can't get any response with Auto Magnifier in MF to function. How were you achieving focus? Thanks Tao
It only works with the sony lenses. Ive just programmed the focus mag on the magnifying glass button so that is how i can punch in so fast and nail focus because your thumb sits right on that button. Hope that helps Tao.
@@xhynetuseinovski thanks. I just took it for a spin and managed to work it all out. Works so well on the A7c2 and looks so good that I had women running at me.
Film sims are achievable with Sony using creative styles or picture profiles. You just have to build and tweak them yourself instead of getting them right out of the box. I’ve been shooting that way for a long while now.
@@xhynetuseinovski Thanks. I have been checking out their leather straps too. I am also interested in the short 27" version as I do like camera straps to be neat and untangled. Do you ever feel it's being too short? They have the Peak Design version but feel like the split ring version is cleaner. With that said, do you ever feel the need to take it off the camera? And is the back of the leather strap treated? Do leather bits get rubbed off easily? Sorry for asking a lot. Love your channel btw.

thanks man. you are an example that this lens is worth it!
The edit is nice ❤
Love the videos. Talking head shots look 🔥
thanks bro! finally dialed in the color grade for that. ✌🏻
It looks great, I'm looking for a compact 35mm with manual focus for Sony E. Are you aware of any? I wish there was a version of the 50mm but in 35mm
for 35mm im not sure bro
Amazing photos, exactly my style!! After purchasing X100VI - how do you feel about Sony now? What camera you take with you more often?

I love your flim-like edits! Do you also happen to use the Creative Looks feature from a7c2 itself?

Have you tried shooting with ZONE FOCUS?
😂

haha love it. it’s definitely one of those hidden gems for those of us that love manual focus!
af works way better than Fuji seems like a better system. Wait till they allow baked in lut for jpg
AF is light years better on the Sony. The Fuji looks better and I thoroughly enjoy the OVF. Fuji sims are so good though.

@@kriskinsey64 any public photos ?
@@jaymills1720I also use a mist filter to add softness
When your eyes start to fail like us older generations auto focus comes in very handy….😂✌️
Haha right on. 😎
what leather strap is that?
It's the clever supply co, traditional split ring in 27in chestnut color.
