I think the way you played in this clip shows an higher level than that of a beginner. A rookie can make a sound on bongo by touching the fingers of his hand at the same time on the head of bongo, but he can't make many sounds continuously by touching finger after finger (of one hand) on the head. I think that is a technique that a beginner must need a long time to perform well.

Sorry, I should call it "advanced beginner" but I'm trying to keep this current series of videos standard. I think a beginner should learn the martillo pattern first which can be used on many songs with variations of that same 4 beats. I would suggest playing along to the Beatles tune, And I Love Her. Once the beginner has this tool under their belt, the rhythm has already been understood by feeling it (like riding a bike), then you can progress. Actually, alot of your beats can just be shadowing the same notes of another instrument, which I find myself doing most times without even thinking about it. Yes, bongos are definitely a finger instrument. Thanks for the comment.

Anyway, I think your 3 recent clips are very helpful for beginners like me. Watching these videos, I distinguish which movement (of your hands) express the main pattern and which movement express the variation (that I call movement of inspiration). The main patterns, I can almost perform them right awy. But the variations, i know that it will take along time, maybe 1 month or maybe 1 year, to perform them well. Sometimes, I wish you played the variations slower to help beginners copy them easier. But I know that people can't request so much a bongocero for whom playing bongo is a hobby.

Ngoc Thang If I make more videos, I will try to slow down. Actually, teaching is more difficult than playing for me. I think teaching is a special skill. There are plenty of real musicians on TH-cam who offer much better instructional videos. My videos are just to share and offer inspiration to other hobbyists like myself. Best wishes to you in the drumming hobby and life in general.
