Nashville is my all-time favorite movie. It is a painting of a movie. I think it changed my life. Amazing performances by Ronee Blakely and everyone in it

It's definitely in my list of personal favorites. Only wish we could have gotten a longer version.

Recently saw The Candidate with Robert Redford which predates Nashville by 3 years and also features Allan Garfield and was struck by how similar in vibe and theme it was.. The same sense of life hurtling forward before your eyes . Great time for film

What a pity that the eight-hour television version never happened...

Thanks for the upload. Do you also have interview footage of Sam Peckinpah?

I wonder what happened to the plan to release the 8 hour version of the film as a TV series. I guess it never came to fruition - no mention in Altman’s IMDB filmography. Anyone know?

According to Jan Stuart's amazing book on the making of the film, no one knows what happened to the extra footage, not even Altman.

I wonder if that Johnny Williams ever got out the movies.

quite simply, ... the finest decade in american film ... and this game-changing prick was smack-dab in the middle of it ... now i have a serious hankerin' for the sloppy laid-back cool of elliot gould in "the long goodbye"... " it's okay with me "...
