I remember watching this show when I was a kid. Can’t wait to show it to my grandson and great grandson

The Captain Kangaroo Show, with the Captain speaking to a Rabbit, and a Moose, not to mention a Grandfather Clock, was a perfect precursor for Children who would later grow and use Acid ! So when they began to talk to animals, it wasn't that weird !😵‍💫

It's still nice, wholesome entertainment. What do kids today watch? Im afraid to ask. Nice music, good manners, something not every kid got at home.

Stan Lee here really gives the appearance that he was really trying to turn something into a franchise and possibly was working all around the clock to make this happen.

The best time of my life. Shows like this taught us how to be polite and have compassion for others. Mister Rogers, Romper Room, and winchell and mahoney are priceless

My favorite show to watch as a kid.

I knew someone who worked on the show. According to him, the rabbit was the only sober one on the set.

I was 11 years old when this Aired on TV. what a flashback. I do believe it was a morning show.

This must be when the show very first started. I remember the Captain being heavier, rounder. I was born in '62 and remember watching this as a small child. Wonder how long it was on? I loved Mr. Greenjeans too.

I watched this before I went to school

This takes me back to my wonderful childhood. I think we just had three channels on our black and white T.V. People lived a simpler life and were content.

In those days nourishing a child's innocence with wholesome entertainment was of utmost importance for writers and producers of children's television programs. Nowadays they want to sexualize them and make them into premature adults! It's just terrible and I'm utterly grateful to have grown up back then.

Just stumbled upon this. Use ti watch CK as a boy in the early 60's along with Hobo Kelly . Back then I would walk to kindergarten alone and as did other children and no one even thought about getting harmed or kidnapped.

Oh man !! ....Brings back so many Good memories whe I 1st saw the show on WTVR Richmond Va one morning back in 1955 .....Really liked "Bunny Rabbit's" antics !! ....Later that Same day, discovered the special recessed fireplace brick under the mantel & used it for my "Secret" penny & nickel hiding place !!

It only took six minutes to remember why this was my favorite show..THANK YOU,k

How many kids now days even know what a burrow is? Lol. Im 42. I watched this on antenna with my dad when I was a kid. Reruns, obviously. Simple time. But way better than today. Outside all day. Come in for supper. Take a bath. Go to bed.

I grew up watching Captain kangaroo but I couldn't stand grandfather clock he was scared as hell with the big eyes I know I didn't like nothing with big eyes

I used to watch Captain Kangaroo every morning and eat my bowl of cereal before going outside to play before I was school age and had to take the bus to school in Kindergarten. After I was in First Grade, I wasn't allowed to watch TV in the mornings unless I was ill. I sure would like to see re runs of this Children's program anytime over the stuff that's shown now on TV.

Back in the days when Mighty Mouse was my hero.

I remember watching Captain Kangaroo in the late 60s and early 70s. I didn’t know it went back to the 50s. The Captain looks younger here.

Howdy Doody with Buffalo Bobwas a great show, too. But NEVER ANY show for kids that could top the Cap'n! Wish I could've told him to his face how much joy his show brought me. Crabby Appleton, Mr. Moose, Mr. Green Jeans, Grandfather Clock. RIP to you all......

I have a Zippy doll and a Tippy doll too. I had one way back then and found the ones I have now at a thrift store.

I was born in '53 so I grew up watching this show every day. Mr Moose was my favorite. Things were so simple then.
