Oh yeah, back in the days when Walt Disney used to traumatize us to make us hate drugs. This and the donkey transformation in Pinocchio scared the hell out of me. Good memories.
A phrase at the time ‘seeing pink elephants’ was a slang term to mean someone was so drunk they wouldn’t be able to hold a conversation with you. The animators decided to take this more literally and do a whole pink elephants animated scene to say Dumbo was drunk. Of course, this was during the time of Fantasia was being made. Really experimental animation was placed in that were more drug inducing. As someone who is into experimental animation, I always saw this whole bit as a glimpse into what animation could of been if the animators were given more freedom.
lol I think it's hilarious that a lot of people collectively thought this was scary as a child. i had pink elephant nightmares after watching dumbo for the first time but have grown to love this song along with the rest of the movie and this is a BANGING version of it! well done brother!
@@SCP-Dr_Bright Nvm, don't know if this the shit they put on or if this is dave's edit, that's what I meant. Bit buzzed haha I have not seen dumbo, well not before this vid and I don't think I will haha

That is such a mood. Also!! Since I was a kid I've watched all my movies in Spanish (first language) and I've compared English and Spanish and I'm. The Spanish lyrics are 1000 times more terrifying? It mentions the devil. And how the spirits if the dead are coming. 😫👌🏼
I think that's kinda what I like about the Walt Disney era of films. They just seem to add these bizarrely terrifying scenes in their movies. They lower your guard with the sweet and happy scenes, then surprises you with a out of no where scene like this, lol.
Man, I loved this as a kid, but never liked the second half where it dropped into being soft-spoken and then transitioned into maraccas and nonsense. This is perfect. Bravissimo.
Idk man when you passed over 300K but you deserve it, saw it's now over, I love all the edits. This one is scary AF haha but I am here to listen/watch anyway haha I am re-playing this so if im scared it's my own doing xD But if imma chose the best one, it's ''A friend like me''. I can watch your edit at that one so many times, never gets sick of it!
I know this scene really scared quite a few kids when they were younger, but it was almost always my favorite scene from Dumbo!! Lots of dark imagery and sickly bright colors. I think the part that actually scared me the most was the ending of Pink Elephants, where things become louder and trippier.
I think you recalled most of my emotions at once, dude. I felt excited, happy, enjoyed, satisfied, tense, little scared, little shivered, little melancholic... a lethal mix of stuff. Don't know if I like this or not, really. I've put a like on trust, I know this is great work. But, the raw source, damn. It was my nightmare when I was young, and I REAAALLY liked Dumbo as a whole, so. This was my soft spot, I think I'd cry everytime on this scene.

Daaaaamn, this fucking SLAPS. I always found the dark, foreboding, relentless syncopation of this track already super powerful, but the emphasis that you've put on the beat and atmosphere have sent it all into the moon. Thank you for making this!
I don't know how you managed to make it even more terrifying but it's still way too good.... Now i really want to hear "It's tough to be a God," "Poor Unfortunate souls," or "Be prepared." Your music is just too good

The song was good but also added to the creepiness which was odd. The whole pink elephants part to me was like an oxymoron that I couldn't look away from.

I do believe dumbo drunk lightly watered down vodka here xD
Good ol' Disney animation: the staple of fridge horror & nightmare fuel since 1941 till 2009.
“Dont do drugs or you will see pink elephants” as a kid it’s terrifying but as an adult that sounds like a damn fun time

actually Dumbo wasn't drunk, he ingested natural drugs th-cam.com/video/y08pbpn98rs/w-d-xo.html
