I love watching this creative process unfold. Amazing musicianship! It's just sad that this music is not more appreciated in the mainstream. Neal is one of the greatest songwriters....ever. Through the use of thoughtful lyrics and moving musical passages that borrow from many genres e creates masterpiece after masterpiece... absolutely amazing. I love the shared lead vocals in this band and all the creative input that goes into creating this truly uplifting, exciting and magical music. Spread the word!
I found NMB through MP. We bought TSOAD vinyl and have been hooked ever since. Saw them in Seattle in January. Did the meet and greet. Extremely nice guys. Hopefully, we hear more stuff from them in the future. But I have to say, it will be very tough to top this album.
If you haven't already, check out Sola Scriptura, Neal's 2007 album. I have held this as his greatest work since I first heard it, and I'm struggling because SoaD is challenging it to become the new top Neal Morse album. So, that's saying a lot. Mike Portnoy also played on all of Neal's solo albums prior to the formation of the Neal Morse Band, and Randy George has been playing bass with them for quite some time as well. Christian and Bill are the only new faces, but I love what they bring to the band's sound. But definitely check out Neal's pre-NMB albums. Some very amazing music there.
I've noticed this phenomenon with much of Neal and Mike's music; Transatlantic, Neal's s solo stuff now NMB. It is a "brainworm". I CANT GET THESE SONGS OUT OF MY HEAD! What an amazing album, and this band is WoW! Each album challenges me, speaks to my head my heart and my hands. Please keep fighting the good fight.
I loved watching this series showing the creative process step by step. I love prog. music and Neal's stuff. I find it much more honest than a lot of "Christian" music. I have completed dozens of songs and put them here on You Tube to be ignored at the speed of light, or is it the speed of sound? What a privileged it must be to be able to get together with others just as talented as you are and create something much greater than you can by yourself. I hope I get at least one chance to do that one day. The stuff I have done is by myself and I have not had this kind of opportunity.
Thank so much for this!! I bought this album but I didn't know there was a special edition with a DVD :-( I wish I would have known. Regards from Spain!!!
Julián Miguel ur welcome sharing the love of this album is a pleasure Check out my live videos of the concert from earlier this year on my TH-cam channel
This is one of the most incredible albums I've ever heard with the best ENDING of ANY album, ever.
