- I made a small change to the way I layer the paints and I can definitely notice a difference! The colors moved all the way across the canvas and showed up more towards the edges. When I was in Amsterdam I went to the Vincent Van Gogh Museum. They let you get very close to the paintings. I love Van Gogh’s work and I almost had my nose on the canvas. The guards didn’t stop me. Probably because they saw that I was wiping the tears from my face, I looked over hoping the guard didn’t see this silly woman, but he just smiled at me and nodded. I cried because I saw his fingerprints in the paint as he rubbed a dab of color here and there, just like you my dear. Leave a fingerprint here and there 😊

That turned out so beautiful!! Even though there isn’t a lot of negative space, your eyes do feel relaxed- I think that turquoisey-sky blue is a calming color & the composition works so beautifully because of it.

I love the yellow in the center. The petals around the yellow center look tie-dyed to me. So Beautiful. Yellow reminds me of new season starting right after the winter blues. This painting reminds me of a fresh spring day with all the colors coming up in a bouquet. This would be the perfect flower to represent spring in a 4 seasons set! I love it!! I’ve had fun with not quite stirring different colors together for a base. I did Prussian Blue Hue, Ultramarine, Phthalo blue and Dioxazine Purple and just poured it on after layering those in a cup.

I see a little seahorse at the bottom I love the green that the blue and yellow I love it
I loved the tips for painting the edges of the canvases. Some artists choose one of the colours that is in the piece and paint the edges in that accent colour. That can look really pretty.
My edges aren't usually so bad but how do you keep the back of the canvas so clean?? I ended up actually painting the back side of some of mine either black or white just to hide all the splatters of various colours all over the back! 😂

Thank you! I tape the edges and try to hold it under there so not much gets on the back. But honestly it's a hand made piece of art. I have seen some very high end work at art shows that have paint on the back. No one sees that part! I think it's fine to leave as is personally. If you want to paint it that's ok too!
