I like that you don't speak-videos where the artist is blah, blah is not entertaining! I enjoy and appreciate the creativity of watching the pours-thank you!
I think I'm going to get into this. It looks really fun and and as someone who can't paint, this would be easy to do especially when it comes to my MD. No holding a brush. Love it.
Absolutely stunning and very beautiful work. A very rich combination of colors! Knockout design! Texture is through the roof! Composition is very brilliantly executed. The shine on this piece makes me want to hang it on my wall in the living room of my cousins house! Breath taking and uniquely done. You deserve to be in museums of reknown! Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of artwork with us today!
Thought I'd see every possible tool to do a pour but you topped many of them with this little trick. What a wonderful imagination. Thank you for sharing.
Love the way you explained everything!! This is my first time seeing this done with straws, I came out beautifully!!! I also really LOCED the music, very relaxing Thank you!!
TIP: Warm the canvas up before pouring resin. Either by using a hot air blowdryer or sitting the canvas in the sun. Not hot, but nice and warm. Air bubbles come up faster and resin spreads nicer. I always warm my blank canvas up to remove any moisture before pouring. I live in Hawaii where it's humid, the packaged canvases need to breathe so I remove the plastic after I get them home to dry and then hit them with the blowdryer before pouring. I just kind of like it. Back in the 70's & 80's we use to make burl wood furniture, slabs of Cyprus, Walnut, Buckeye, Olive wood, etc. When the tables were ready for the finish, I used TRU-OIL, a gun stock varnish type oil. I laid it down with the edge of the palm of my hand. But before the oil, we'd take the piece from the garage to the sun for a warm-up, then back into the clean dust free garage for the oiling.
You have such lovely music playing. Then you add such awful (and LOUD!) cheering throughout the video. It’s VERY distracting and not at all enjoyable. If I hadn’t been so curious to see how the pattern came out using the straws, I would have left after the very first cheer. Please keep this i I’d with the next video you make. Thanks.
I like the final outcome, but I will use less black and more vibrant colors (maybe purple, intense blue, bright yellow and maybe teal) when I attempt it. I really liked the way you cleaned up the edges of the canvas with two coats of clean white paint. That and the shiny resin made a big difference in how the finished piece turned out - very professional. LOVELY! I’m looking forward to trying the straw technique!
It's a lovely piece, but please stop using the cheering noises. It's incredibly jarring in such a nice calming video and I almost didn't make it to the end.
I loved this painting and enjoyed watching everything you did, but the tricks and cheering noises and all of that are distracting and annoying. Please consider not doing that in the future because your work is gorgeous but the noises were really too much for me. Thank you.
Carolynn Toloczko No harm or unkindness was meant, I love John’s work and think he is an incredible artist. Before I wrote my feedback, I thought about how I would feel if I posted my work online and instead of letting me know if they didn’t like something, they just stopped watching. That would definitely be worse than getting a little negative feedback. I believe that that’s what it takes to make one better. I think one of the reasons that artists of all kinds post their work is because they want feedback. Sometimes it’s negative, but I truly believe that it will help them in the long run. 🙂
You all prolly dont care but does anybody know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I love any tips you can offer me!
@Elliot Clark Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Mark, hello and thank you for posting this video. I've got some curved heavy glass that I've been racking my brain as to what to do with them. I know exactly what I want to do with them and I hope to paint soon. I'm taking care of my partner as her health has deteriorated from respiratory disease. I don't get time to paint as I used to, but you have inspired me. I'm sure you've heard this before but I just have to tell you that the sound of your voice is hypnotic and soothing to my soul. Thank you dear
LOL! Did you hear me yelling at you, "Just SHOW ME!!". Once again, 🤯! I so love watching you work. Your pieces are like nothing else on TH-cam... Nothing! You are very inspiring, thank you for sharing your gift with us. With love from the Southern California desert, MK ♥️🌞🌵
Very clever!!! Color is beautiful! You are such a perfectionist! The technique and your video Is so well done. I really enjoyed watching all The stages of the project. Thank you!
Well done - Text instructions + visual instructions + speed thru unnecessary steps + music .... all very appealing & easy to watch + finished product 🥰🥰🥰
Oh my goodness the end result is so beautifully done 🤎🤍🖤 the colors are stunning I'm going to try this I might try different colors see how it turns out 🤞🤞🤞 GREAT JOB 👍💞👍
Turned out really nice. If you want to photograph that without having the reflection, place it on black velvet & have 2 flashes crossing over the painting.
Love the pattern it made! Colors are beautiful! Do another one, this time try with just vivid colors without any dark. Want to see how they mix. Awesome technique!
Thank you very much, that your explain was very detailed, l learn it from you, it is so easy and understand all. You are a good teacher and a great artist.

Agree 💯 with you
took me a second to realise you stamped your hands with your logo to prevent video theft, quite clever
Great idea
Where? I don't see it.
Lovely!!!
People really do that for videos like this?!? So sad....
Fürdőszoba.
If you did a bunch of these you could possibly custom make your own kitchen tiles?
I think I'm going to get into this. It looks really fun and and as someone who can't paint, this would be easy to do especially when it comes to my MD. No holding a brush. Love it.
Wow I can’t believe how beautiful this is I’m going to try this with my daughters. I hope they can love art and experimenting!!
Have fun trying! Greetings John

I've just watched to the point where you poured out the paint , and already love it. It's so stunning !!
Way to go.
I love that you showed how you finished your art. I have found that some artists do not include the process for us wanting to learn.

I love the Jupiter vibes, lovely!
That is beautiful! The resin over the paint makes it look so rich and the paint itself looks like it’s a topographical map. I just flat love it!

Great quality work - fun to watch how you did it! I do agree though - borders in black would have really rocked!

Back in the days when plastic straws still existed. We only have paper straws here now.
Breathtaking! I love how you mixed the two pouring techniques to achieve such a marvelous result!

Nice unique pour method....... I have been thinking about trying a simple pour....
I'm seeing an electric guitar under stage lights with that as an all over finish. It would look fantastic!
The electric guitar is that color?
Always looking for new ideas and this is great. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts.
Beautiful and speechless at the outcome of this artistic experience
Oh neat, I have those acrylics. I think I will try something similar. Great video!
Your innovative art never fails to amaze and entertain me. Love this idea!
Great ! Greetings JOhn!
Question: what do you use in mix to get the cell result? Or is that simply the result of straw pour?
Both. Please check the video description....its all there...

I love this. You've made a really cool Burr Walnut effect.

For my taste, the borders should have been black.
I agree. I’ve never liked white on the outside of any painting.

I would like the image continuing over the edge, which would only work if you were not using the epoxy.

pretty cool. i wouldnt of used black though. but thats just me
Made it muddy but I guess it's cute with the resin.
It is : "I wouldn't HAVE". And I agree.
I have that set of colors and I agree the black is not my favorite. But the outcome was cool.
I am sure each straw could be cut first in half to avoid waste. Great technique!
Your work is a visual masterpiece. Just Stunning.
AGREE WITH YOU 100%
Superbe!On dirait un petit bijou.
I love how you explained why you used the torch and exactly how long to let it dry.
Made me subscribe! I am just getting into acrylic painting. Going to have to try this.
This is beautiful!❤
I'm going to try one😊
Thank You!😊
The white edges give it a really clean look👍
