Garyah02 A lot of people hold that opinion, but this isn't about who's considered best, it's about who has actually played the roles, and there are more people than Moore and Silverheels who have played those characters.
Pretty cool in that Marion Ross was in an episode of The Lone Ranger with Clayton Moore entitled "Texas Draw" (season 4, episode 9). Now here she is with John Hart; adding herself to the list of those that acted with both.
Johnny Hart was one of the top stuntmen prior to his appearance as the Lone Ranger. He was a great guy, fantastic stuntman, good friend, and one of the all time ladies' men in Hollywood. In his later years he turned to the production side as a writer, director, and producer of industrial films where I was actually hired by him to do some stunt work while attending UCLA. Moore was The Lone Ranger for 2 Seasons and replaced by John Hart ( who actually played a bad guy in the series) for Season 3. Then Moore returned for seasons 4 and 5

Fonzie's Cool had left the building. In reality it makes Me think of Jon Bon Jovi's friendship with Paul McCartney. Jon is so blown away by the idea that He calls Him "Beatle Paul". I find that so sweet since they're both such Iconic Rock Superstars.
With the age of Fonz in "Happy Days" he was probable a fan of the radio series which starred Brace Beamer as The Lone Ranger and John Todd as Tonto. From the early '30s until the early '50s the series was popular with children and adults. I have many fond memories of listening to it with my dad. Archives.org has all of the radio series of The Lone Ranger and hundreds of other "Old Time Radio" programs, including "Gunsmoke", free to listen to or download. Regards, Mick Bradford
@@amberhartzog9851 There were a bunch, but the most famous (and I think longest-serving) was Brace Beemer, who actually shouted "Hi-Yo Silver! Away!" for Clayton Moore until he got the knack.
@@MaskedMan66 After a few very short-term "Rangers", the 1st radio actor to make the part really his own was Earle Graser who played the part for 8 years until his death in a traffic accident. For the next few episodes Tonto nursed the Ranger back to health after he was ambushed. During that time he was unable to speak. When he did recover, his voice was deeper as Brace Beemer took over the role. Earle Graser's voice was still the voice shouting "HiYo Silver, Away!" on the radio program and I'm pretty sure that it was the one used on the TV show, too. Beamer was an announcer and actor and had already put in some personal appearances as the Lone Ranger because he looked more the part than Graser did. Re Moore's voice, he consciously and conscientiously pitched his voice lower because of Beamer's. Brave Beamer was The Lone Ranger for 13 years and - as opposed to Earle Graser - was given on air credit. A bit of trivia: the part of the Lone Ranger's nephew Dan on the radio was played by a young James Lipton (Inside the Actors Studio).
@@vincentfromia I met a man who did the Ranger's voice only once, but was heard in nearly every episode from 1948 to 1954. That man was Fred Foy, who announced the show for that period. Beemer-- ironically-- had developed laryngitis, and Foy went on the air in his place! I met him when I played the Ranger for a recreation of the first episode with Mr. Foy as special guest. 🙂
@@MaskedMan66 Really Cool! Not only the story, but that you got to meet him. And I like that you played the Ranger in that recreation. IMO the PERFECT voice for announcing The Lone Ranger.
rudy riccio Marion Ross also portrayed a hospital nurse on the original "Hawaii Five-O". She was in charge of caring for Steve McGarrett when he was temporarily blinded after being shot at. th-cam.com/video/te6is5yVJRE/w-d-xo.html

She was also in one of my favorite Five-O episodes called "Air Cargo - Dial For Murder"....she plays a mother who, along with others, is blackmailed into being part of an air cargo theft ring because she needs the money due to her daughter always being in trouble with the law.
John Hart played the Lone Ranger between stints by Clayton Moore. He also appeared as the Ranger on The Greatest American Hero as Ralph Hinkley's personal hero. Mr. Hart was also one of the voices in Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.
I agree when Richie left, IMO the show should have ended with say a 2 hour finale. Say in that finale Richie Marrying Lori Beth. Or the Happy Days Producers and Execs should have just had made it official in calling this era a "spin off" starring Fonzie. Fonzie might been the more popular character. However many people underestimated how important Richie was in making this TV classic legendary. With Richie marrying Lori Beth the Show dragged on 2-3 years too long in the original Happy Days Title and Format.
Yes the show was completely different, so who's the idiot who thought the blonde haired guy would work on the show. Everyone else looks like they are from the 50's more or less and they stick that guy in who looks like he was in the 70's when the show was made. I mean ya don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out it doesn't work right! I think he was put into some other shows too and killed them all LoL..
He did the best he could considering the big boots he was stepping into and the fact that Mr Moore was so loved and had been completely identified with the character so much that he WAS The Lone Ranger. But it was never going to work no matter how it played out. Imagine Adam West being replaced as Batman in the last season, or Lee Majors being replaced as Steve Austin, William Shatner as Captain Kirk, Ron Ely as Tarzan.

Mick Bradford
I haven't studied the radio Rangers yet.
I love old radio wish I'd been able to attend one of those recreations with those surviving radio actors. BTW Re Foy, announced the TV series, too. IMO the PERFECT voice for announcing The Lone Ranger.
i remember watching the original growing up and it was awesome...ty
"I understand you've been wanting to meet me for a number of years"
35 of them!
A man with a gun, a silver bullet, this episode would never ever be shown on TV today. Sad what we have become.
they would make him black now
it's interesting that Marion Ross (Mrs. C) once was on an episode of The Lone Ranger
+rudy riccio I didn't know that! Was it one of Hart's?
rudy riccio She was hot....I think the Ranger gave her the Silver Bullet !
rudy riccio
Marion Ross also portrayed a hospital nurse on the original "Hawaii Five-O". She was in charge of caring for Steve McGarrett when he was temporarily blinded after being shot at.

@@michaelmantle6043 Yep! I enjoyed her in that episode, been a while since I've seen that one. She was also in one of my favorite Five-O episodes called "Air Cargo - Dial For Murder"....she plays a mother who, along with others, is blackmailed into being part of an air cargo theft ring because she needs the money due to her daughter always being in trouble with the law.
Marion Ross had a sweet ass!
John Hart played the Lone Ranger between stints by Clayton Moore. He also appeared as the Ranger on The Greatest American Hero as Ralph Hinkley's personal hero. Mr. Hart was also one of the voices in Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.
The day Richie left is when this show went dooowwwwnnnn!
Couldn't agree more
The episode where Fonzi jumped over the shark is when this show went down
I agree when Richie left, IMO the show should have ended with say a 2 hour finale.
I think he was put into some other shows too and killed them all LoL..
he didnt do much for Too Close For Comfort
That was John hart, the alternate Lone Ranger, whom doest hold a candle to Clayton Moore, the real Lone Ranger.....
Actually John Hart did a very fine job for the one season he was the Lone Ranger.
i disagree with you, I thought he was very wooden, and could not hold a candle to Clayton Moore
That was the only thing that spoilt this classic scene, that thy didn't get Clayton Moore.
AND UR A FUCKIN IDIOT !!!!! HART SUCKED THEN AND SUCKS NOW JUST AS U DO 4 THINKING THAT !!!!!! U R NOT A CLAYTON MOORE LONE RANGER DIE HARD FAN , U R A NOTHINGBURGER !!!!!
Two television icons together. Priceless!
Remember sitting around with my three other brother's watching this now two of them are gone.its funny a tv show you haven't seen in years can flood your mind with memory's of that time in your life you've long forgotten about?
This honestly left me teary-eyed... Lol
Brilliant......simpler times
I could tell that wasn't Clayton but I read comments b4 posting my own. Generally the same questions already been asked, and it was. Why wasn't it Clayton moore? Contract stipulations huh? I can buy that cause I believe I recall Clayton once saying that.
The lone ranger guest starring wouldn't believe if it if I had to see it classic great job people you should be amazed and proud love you guys and the memories you guys rock thanks ! Joe
I'd like to imagine the Lone Ranger ridding Silver through down town Milwaukee and no one says a thing.
After binge watching the Lone Ranger all night, I find this clip! Just great! And yeah, I would be jealous too! No bigger hero than the Lone Ranger.
John Hart did his best. No,hes not Clayton Moore, but he still stood for law and order, and actually was on episodes with Clayton.
Does anyone remember what episode this scene was from when Fonzie met the Lone Ranger.
Ah yes, a favorite tun on the old jukebox, the William Tell Overture...
So awesome grew up on happy days and the Lone Ranger
It's like being told you're gonna meet the original James Bond. You'd expect to see Sean Connery. Instead, George Lazenby walks into the room.
+33VMUH It's still James Bond.
I've met George, He's a great guy, and a good Bond
Nahh. I'd go 4 Timothy dalton
The best hole shot of all Bond movies....he does a knee drop
Lazenbee wasn't the first. Before Connery was a television presentation of Casino Royale with Peter Lorre as LeChiffre
The Lone Ranger is Legend - The Fonz's Reaction lol - gives him The Silver Bullet 😊👍
one of the best moments in tv history
I got into Watching the Lone Ranger when Fozie mention him.
that sucks I was hoping it would have been clayton moore hes the real loan ranger the original I don't watch the john hart eposodes only the clayton moore episodes I love his voice and how he talked nobody will fill his shoes I forgot to thank that man who was he anyways why that was the lone ranger hiyo silver ever seen a bullet like this why your the lone ranger yes and this is my partner tonto were here to help you
dale cota
The real "loan" ranger? Did he work in a bank or a mortgage company?
Dullard.
1:07 Thats John Hart.....an amazing actor and a perfect embodiment of the Lone Ranger....too bad audiences never accepted him fully
Sorry Fonz, there's only one Ranger and Hart ain't it.
+Ringo Fonebone There are different Rangers in different continuities (rather like Robin Hood or Zorro), and Hart was it for a time.
@@MaskedMan66 He met "A: Lone Ranger, not "THE" Lone Ranger..need I say "MOORE"?
@@ringofonebone8918 There were several Lone Rangers, and when Clayton Moore first appeared on television, the LR fans who grew up with the radio series said, "He's no Brace Beemer!"
@@ringofonebone8918 I appreciate your wordplay, though! :-)
Love Tom Bosley's entirely period-accurate 1970s glasses frames
Fonzie meets his idol!!
And he acted like an idiot when he did.
First time I ever saw the Fonz like that! As star struck as a child lol :-)
Winkler was only 5ft 6” a great clip with the late John Hart towering at 6ft 3”. At least it shut The Fonz up for a while.
The fonze was the man...and the coolest
While Clayton Moore was the measuring stick, for the character, John Hart was no slouch. He playing the Lone Ranger, was like Tom Welling as Clark Kent/Superman, taking over from Christopher Reeve. Reeve is Superman's measuring stick, while Welling honored the role, in his own way.
I forgot the Lone Ranger Is th FonZ'S HERO
I, too prefer Clayton Moore as the Lone Ranger. I also love Jay Silverheels as Tonto.
I met the Lone Ranger at the old children's hospital 1958,Denver Colorado.
Hello Cynthia, How are you doing?
@@Kelly-nm4kw so nice of you to think about me,I already know that you have a heart of gold, I walk with a cane,I have good days and not so good days, every day is a blessing for me,August 28th will be my Birthday, 75 years old. Kelly thank -you so much for being so kind. 💝😸😊
Only The Fonz could make it work having The Lone Ranger as an idol, and not, say, um, Marlon Brando from The Wild Ones.
Only The Fonz could make that work...because he's The Fonz!
True, but The Fonz got a huge ego boost every time someone compared him to Brando or alluded to it to sweet talk him 😂 Brando was his other idol but based on looks.
you could tell by the voice that he's not Clayton Moore.
John Hart - a very, very wonderful man. God Bless...
ya i love clayton moore also and its so hard to replace an original character but i thought john hart did a dam good job,,i never knew there were 2 until i was older,,the other was the 2 marilyns from the great show the munsters,,,
