Great product! I was wondering though if the primary disadvantage of using the permanent magnets in the rotor is decreased acceleration? I'd imagine that it is comprable in most applications and I'd imagine the savings make it worth it.

Hello, thank you for your comment! The mover will be slightly heavier than a traditional PM linear motor, which will result in reduced acceleration/deceleration. However, for most applications, this shouldn't be an issue.

CNC is not an application that we have specifically sold the MMF into, however, because it responds exactly the same as a traditional linear motor, this motor would be ideal for CNC applications like water, laser, and plasma cutting machines, where fast response and feed rates are needed. I would also point out that because there are no magnets in the linear track, there would not be swarf attracted towards the track. Hope that helps! 😄
