I came to DC over 10 years ago from Detroit. It was single handley the best life choice I ever made. Ive met lifelong connections, friends, and took my career to a whole other level. Dating in DC for me was awesome. I had dates with fine high quality women whenever I pleased...For me Marvin was the place to go and mingle. I think everyone and their momma misses Marvin.

I lived in DC for 6 years on 14th St. NW and loved it. It’s diverse, there is lots to do. Housing is super expensive, I paid $3,700 for a 2 bedroom apartment, food is expensive and it could be lonely if you move in the city without knowing someone.

If every club you go to has nothing but ppl standing around, you’re not at a club, you’re at a lounge. Also, you’re in the downtown area where most of the federal building are. A lot of networking events and galas happen over there in that I Street/New York Ave corridor. You gotta go to the more seasoned areas. It’s risky, but you ain’t gonna find much in the gentrified areas. Try U St., Florida Ave near Howard, etc.

DC is a great city. There are so many great aspects aside from overpriced drinks, apartment prices, siren noises, and the dating scene which you may find problematic in any major city.
There are a number of beautiful, educated women in the city also.

DC is the best place to build wealth fast. Lots of high income jobs compared to the cost of housing. This is why there's more money going to PG county black American families than any other places globally!! If you think it's hard here, imagine the stress of our families in places like Atlanta, Charlotte, or NYC... Trust me, it's measurably worse.

@@Canoncoreyuse DC area for what it is. Access to money and affordable housing, and great people who want the same thing for their families. The women here are serious about reaching their life goals and they want a husband who can lead them. The good ones, who want to preserve their fertility, aren't sucking down shots at the bar.
Veterans dominate DC. Do you have a heart for public service? That's not well reflected in your portfolio of work on this channel.
Looking at your video titles... I think you have to decide if you really want "stability" via marriage, or are you just trying to bang another hundred girls?
I recommend strongly, delete most of these videos, and create a TH-cam channel that a 50+ year old man would feel proud to send to his 25 year old daughters and nieces. You need to completely rebrand yourself. Every video title needs to exude professional aspirations, family values, and should send a message that you'll be very careful to protect his daughter.
      Very respectfully.❤

It’s not that cold most of the time in DC. It’s not like Canada or upstate New York. What are you talking about? We only have a few days under freezing each year. It’s October and it’s 80. I think the DMV has incredible weather. We have 4 seasons but not that many days ultra cold or ultra hot. We only get a few inches of snow usually, much less than NYC or Boston.

Same. Violence came knocking on my door so to speak twice with 2 carjacking attempts, then they tried to steal my Jeep from my driveway then from behind my house where I hid it. 2 days later I traded it in, then got the new car totaled by someone in a stolen car. Got another car when I was able to drive again, packed my 4 bedroom 3 bath house up, left over 80% of the items in the house at the curb and moved to the suburbs of Houston.

It may even take you away from there. Lol - I've lived in the suburbs for over 20 years - I loved the DC vibes as most of my contract jobs were there. So much has changed. Most jobs have moved to Virginia. Also, DC is known for Real Estate and government. That's where the jobs are. You can make a way to clean up the credit and get that clearance. Definitely set a plan in place, connect with like minded ppl and enjoy! 😉

I'd be interested to see how some of your views hopefully change as the years go by. I've been out here for 3 years, and it feels like some of your observations would be what a tourist would notice. Rent is expensive but once you're in thr city it's easier to find cheaper places, and if you're looking for roommates then that opens up options, out of the three jobs I've had in DC only one has required security clearance and it was the lowest paying one, we barely get snow so it's objectively not the coldest place, can't speak too much to clubbing or dating but I've learned that people are very passionate about what they do here, so of course they'll talk about work a lot and network. It is what it is. You'll find a lot more streetwear as you move away from the Capitol, and bruh the wharf is the newest and one of the most expensive neighborhoods in DC but its also a tourist trap 💀. I hope you can find your spots in DC and what appeals to you, it really does have a lot to offer for everyone beyond the expensive corporate political front everyone sees.

I'm 53 and have been living in this area all my life. The DC that you're talking about is the new gentrified DC. The city has lost a portion of it's culture due to gentrification. A lot of dull unseasoned folks have moved here from their midwestern towns and have changed the town a bit. A whole lot more Central Americans (Hispanics) are doing there own thing. The club scene is nothing like it used to be. DC live, The Ritz, The Mirage, Republic Gardens and Love are long gone. This is the new social media generation. And it seems that your just hanging around the Federal Government area. (Tourist)

Hello, Just seeing this vlog as recommended my TH-cam. I'm a Washingtonian born and raised, so was my mother; I'm at least second maybe 3rd generation, and let me tell you. Like other cities like certain parts NYC but more, in my opinion, the city has been beautified to the hilt! I'm mean, say what you want about the cities mayors, administrators over the years, they've done a great job overall. I mean so many new neighborhood additions, old making to new again, downtown is now so modern looking, nothing like the 70's, 80's with the electronic shops, porn shops, liquor stores, etc.. Yes, it's expensive. My home per city estimates for tax purposes had increased $300K in value from 2023 to 2024 and will increase again 2025. I live in NE, about 12 blocks east of Logan/Dupont circles, Just blocks south of Howard U, Catholic U. And can walked to US Capitol building. I remember growing up they said, "Whites" were gonna come back to DC. And did they ever! Others also (nationalities). I gutted/remolded my childhood home I still live in and the lower unit which I made into a 1 bed, 1 bath efficiency with private entrance at the front side walk. But yes, even the still heavily black areas with their still residual crime, which is really anywhere really, a lot of whites and others are moving into those neighborhoods also. It's really amazing. Yes, it's gentrification. Some like it, some don't 😉

DC born & raised and currently living in Houston going on 7 months and while I’m not missing those frequent sirens & the high crime, I am missing the culture, none of what’s depicted in this or any of your videos. You need to venture down 14th & U St. NW area, walk down H St NE between 4th & 13th streets especially at night for the night spots, hit the flea market at Oklahoma & Benning Rd NE, although summer is over you can find fun down Anacostia Park from basketball to rollerskating (must bring your own skates off season), even fishing along the shore. DC is more than that dead azz downtown, downtown doesn’t depict the real inner city where the fun, culture, love and opportunities are. Downtown is for work, tourism & people not from there who move there and then leave in a year for VA because it costs too much🤷🏽‍♀️
