    You might wanna try the shoulder mount for your camera as your arms block the shot way less in that position.

    14 minutes. Small black wooly buggers work best on a slow retrieve at that spot. Swell and tides determine everything there.

    HIII FRIEND , when will you come and show me all your skill here in French Guyana....? For many years I was a fanatic fisherman in Africa for tilapia and barbell -- also yellow fish, eel , tilapia was my favorite for the fishing and for the table (very good to eat) !!! You are welcome if you decide to come one day ! I live near the "APROUAGUE river" good fishing end of August, September, October..... Best regards ! Keep on fishing it is so great !

    You might want to think about survivability of fish you release.
    When you handle them you remove protective slime
    I dont know a glove or grasp by jaw with padded plier...
    Also single barb for easier removal
    Congrats though
    time in eventually pays off

    Nice!! Those steelhead will now haunt you for the remaining 9 months of the year. I count myself blessed when I get one wild fish a year. You can tell how fresh they are by the translucency of their fins. Those were pretty much clear...also, check them for sea lice. That'll tell you how fresh. Probably was in the ocean less than 5 days ago. Try getting one on a fly rod, then you'll really be hooked. I bought my first fly rod at 20 for the sole purpose of catching a steelhead on it. I'm 38 now. It took 2 steelhead seasons of being skunked....just learing how to use a fly rod and how to read the river, etc. Finally got one on my 3rd season.. I've chased steelhead ever since, every year.. and it never gets old. Also a bay area guy, we are lucky to have a couple urban steelhead spots left. But the trinity and Klamath are my favorite.
    Congratulations Adam.

    I truly admire this video in many ways. It is not click bait. This is the real deal. Also, your perseverance. Most people nowadays cheat or learn by copying others. This is true hunting and learning knowledge gained first hand. I too have chased salmon and steelhead. For me it was on Lake Michigan in Norther Indiana waters. The learning curve was long, but eventually I figured them out. It is amazing how hard they hit and fight, then run toward you then away. Then they pause and then from 0 to 60. I’ve often said it’s like hooking onto a lightening bolt. Great channel, substantial content, and good personality. I’d fish with you any day. Good luck out there and good fishing!

    I've personally caught several Steelhead and Coho in those small coastal creeks your fishing at. A couple tips for you;
    1. #2 Mepps. This will catch you Steelhead and by accident Coho. It's good for about 3 cast per hole. The Steelhead will not react to it after 3 cast but even if they don't grab it, they will reveal themselves by flashing on it
    2. A small Anise scented marshmallow ran up the hook just past the eye followed by 2 or 3 quality Salmon eggs on the shank of the hook with a 1/4 chunk of a mini crawler. I would fish this setup with splitshots so I can add or remove them depending on the depth or current in the hole I was fishing. No bobber, just a free flowing drift and an educated feel for the drift.

    • @DieHardFishing
      @DieHardFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tips! What’s the biggest you have caught? Just curious since I’m still a newbie

    • @marvicty

      @@DieHardFishing Well, I can't really disclose alot of this info in this public forum. If I still lived in the Bay Area, I could show you holding water in alot of those creeks. Here is an interesting fact though, quite a few of those Steelhead will actually stay in the creek all year long and just turn into huge rainbow trout living under the banks and waiting until the following winter, hoping for a decent amount of rain.

    • @DieHardFishing
      @DieHardFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the intel! I’ll keep an eye out for them!

    • @marvicty
      @marvicty 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DieHardFishing In the vid, you were fishing the estuary/lagoon area of the creek and I can tell you first hand that there are schoolie Stripers in there and this time of year, a decent Starry Flounder bite near the mouth of the creek. Edit; if you can give me an email, I can give you detailed info.
