- I spent a morning fishing the Salmon River Reservoir (also known as Redfield Reservoir) in search of bass. As is the usual case, I had great numbers of smallmouth bass but size was lacking. However, that's ok, as even small smallies fight like no other and the reservoir is a remote, undeveloped and scenic place that makes the lack of size still worth fishing it.

Not sure why u always get tough weather. Then all of a sudden the blue skies open with higher winds. At least you got into them and found a nice campsite🤙

Beautiful looking place to fish 👍👍 i wonder why the Smallies don't get huge there ? too many fish / Bass or not enough forage ? or maybe just genetics
I think it might be a combo of all of those reasons Bill. I'd love to pull some 3+ pound smallies out of there but I just don't think they exist.
A first cast fish is a great start to a day. I love when a snag starts moving, haha. That place is wonderful, a perfect place for some kayak/fishing/camping. Can't help but have fun when they are biting like that. Oh boy, the wind turned on and became serious.

No first cast curse for you my friend. Shots fired 😳😂 Damn ! Those fish will fool ya they are such hard fighters, I’m always surprised when they come in and they’re only 10-12” or so. Lots of good action on the Ned…. as usual. Rockies / Smallies it all good. Cool campsite , looks like some good trees for the hammock. Good day out there Pal … but then aren’t they all. Don’t lose that hat !

The temps are up and down up my way Fitz. One day the high is 60, the next in the high 80s. Haven't broke 90 yet this year though, so that's good. But that creek fishing for anything that will bite is always a ton of fun.
Got a lot of beauties!! they sure are filled with energy! man that's windy my little 8ft kayak would be blowing all over like a paper boat!! That rock bass had some nice red eyes!
That wind sure dud pick up later that morning 🤣🤣
that looks like a great place to fish.. plenty of cover where the fish hide out. that was a cool camp ground.
