Try buy nothing groups! Not every area has a crafting donation site but most large areas have "buy nothing" groups where people are often willing to make a trade for things!
I’m re doing my bedroom so I have a dedicated sewing area. I’m so excited to see this!

I have been looking all afternoon for ideas for a small sewing nook I’m putting together for our home. There really aren’t a whole lot of them on TH-cam which was surprising. I loved watching you create this for your hubby. You have a lot more space than we do for this purpose so I won’t be able to do the things you have done, but it did my heart good to see you work so hard to love your husband. Great job. Your joy in the finished room was infectious.

We were very fortunate to get those mannequins through our courtiers. It was extremely difficult to costume The Baby (who likes to wiggle) and Dionysus (who is usually trying to pattern for himself) without them.

OOH might look into those bed risers for when I cut out on my kitchen table! :)
I'm a big fan of Freecycle (tend to be a donor rather than a requester, but it's a great way of passing on things like fabric offcuts, they've always gone in less than a day!).
We don't have a free cycle near us!
Our cutting table is our old dining room table lol

This is so great and you did such a great job pulling it all together! Buy nothing groups are amazing. Risers to make the table taller are genius and I've seen those at thrift stores before too. Also I love the cover on the ironing board for the measurements I may need to track one of those down too ☺️
I tried so hard to find bed risers at a thrift shop in my area and had zero luck. I think people aren't really moving right now.

Have you thought of getting a few cutting mats at the dollar tree and ductapping them together to make a large cutting surface. Lots of storage ideas there too.

Its a portable coat rack and there are definitely more options to add even more storage.
Finally get to see his machines: A vintage Kenmore (158 Series??); Brother embroidery machine;
sewing machine from Walmart; and the Quantum Singer serger. How often do you use your
Kenmore, and how is it working??
The Kenmore is my, Muse, preferred machine! It works very well. It took me a couple times to figure out the tension but once I did its been running really well. I use it about once a week, a few hours each time its used.
@@MuseAndDionysus : I own the Kenmore 90 Heavy Duty, which can sew pleather and heavy denim like a dream; and the Kenmore 19233 Computerized. The 19233 is the last Kenmore made for Sears, and it gets the most use. Right now, I'm using my Juki Excite to make a quilt. I'm always interested in seeing vintage sewing machines at work. Like the dress you wore the other nite for your live program. Fascinated by the sleeves and the sleeve lining fabric.

Aww, that's the BEST! I'm hoping to have space to set up a good sewing/craft area when we move and I'll definitely be looking into doing it as cheap/free as possible. Also, I love how the baby is like "am I supposed to be impressed by this??" XD

Also, budget friendly storage is definitely my jam! I wish I could use pegboards, but I’m not allowed to make so much as a nail hole in the wall (love being a renter with no rights!). So I’m trying to convince my mum to make me a desk hutch that has a pegboard backing and other storage cubby holes. Fingers crossed she eventually gets around to it.
